A charming European hotel, with very accommodating staff (fluent in English). One of the few hotels with rooms that can accommodate 3 people — a bit cosy, but doable. The restaurant next door is a bit pricey (so’s a lot of Zürich…), but there are a couple of eateries in walking distance, including a terrific, affordable cafe (Remo) less than a minute walk away. There’s also a grocer next door, and a pharmacy a short walk away, in case you need a soda, snack, or sunscreen. The tram stops directly in front of the hotel, and is a mere 3 stops to Zürich’s main train station, which is near the bus stop for a number of tour companies. You could stay at a big chain place (eg, Marriot) or maybe a ritzier hotel. But for that classic European charm, exemplary service, nice accommodations, terrific convenience, and all at a fair price, you’d be hard pressed to do better. The next opportunity I get to travel to Zürich, I’ll be coming back. I think that’s a pretty solid endorsement. :)

My family and I recently stayed at the Hotel Krone from May 24th to May 26th and had a wonderful experience. We were particularly impressed with the exceptional customer service and the overall quality of our stay. Additionally, the location is great. The tram stops right in front of the hotel, about 5 minutes from the central station. This made our trip very easy and convenient, allowing us to explore the beautiful city of Zurich and the breathtaking Lucerne in only 2 days. It was a very nice hotel. Room was small for three people; but for a short stay it was fine. Restaurant was excellent! Staff were wonderful . I would stay here again.

Loved our stay at Hotel Krone Unterstrasse. The room was perfect. Great bathroom, amazing shower, comfortable bed, good internet and the staff were amazing. They gave us great ideas for exploring Zurich and places to eat. Our transport to the airport failed to show and the staff got us a cab within minutes.

The staff was great and helpful. The rooms are very clean and the beds are so comfortable. Transportation is right out side the door, it is a very convenient location.

Ms. Melanie Honneger at the Restaurant is very nice and accomodating. She helped me to find something to eat from the breakfast buffet with my special dietary issues. Ms. Melanie Honneger is very kind, helpful and has great compassion for all Hotel guests! Ms. Honneger is truly an asset to your Hotel.

Great location, friendly staff, nice room.

The front desk was excellent. Restaurant service was poor, there were two employees working on the morning that we were there. The younger one with short, black hair does not belong in customer service. She would not look you in the eye. Our friend who joined us later randomly commented about this as well. It was difficult to get her attention for a coffee. We would have happily helped ourselves if that was an option. Our room did not have a refrigerator as it should have and was advertised. We arrived back late from the Lindt Chocolate factory tour ready to place our purchases in the fridge only to find that the allocated space was empty. We reported this the following morning and was told that they are removed and only provided upon check in. Apparently one was ordered to be delivered and that did not happen. I commented on this very strange process and was told that they cannot afford to have 80 fridges running, if not required, given the cost of living, so they literally wheel them away after every stay. I have great difficulty accepting this explanation. I am unsure about the state of my chocolates but can only hope that they are intact as I continue on the rest of my travels. This concern was raised at the front desk and I was disappointed that a discount was not offered as the service that I paid for was not provided. It should be noted that this was the fourth place that I stayed at in Switzerland and did not experience this issue anywhere else.

The hotel staff were very friendly and always willing to help with any questions we had on getting around Zurich. The best part was having fresh bedding and towels daily, that felt clean and disinfected. It made it easier to sleep at night after a long day of touring the beautiful city as well as day trips to the surrounding counties.

There is a tram stop right in front of the property. It is very convenient for getting around. There is a great restaurant called Mould across the street. The front desk was very helpful & we we’re grateful they spoke English.

Nothing as described, booked 3 adults room and received a regular double bed where was added a foldable bed at the feet of tge other teo people. It looked liked tgree people are sleeping in the same bed with no mord room to move around. If tge hotel has no capability to accomodars 3 adults it should not be added on any booking platform. I had to book a separate room to make my family confortable.

The hotel is impeccable! The room is clean, staff is very friendly and breakfast is delicious. We love the beans!

Clean spacious room. Large comfortable bed (but pillow too soft for me). Hotel located just 10 mins on 14 tram from city centre. Close enough to quickly get to city and train & bus/coach transport but far enough to miss the noise of the city centre. Very helpful staff. especially lady on reception who solved my problem with boarding pass e-mail.

The room was nice and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. My early arrival was accommodated and this was very much appreciated.
