Very good value for money. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice pressure warm shower and plenty of plugs available for devices. Restaurant dinner was good and parking available.

I've stayed here before, and I'll do that again. The rooms are good, if a little in need of TLC. But, I'm amongst other things, a finisher in construction, so I notice the slightest fault.. The Hotel itself is in an excellent position for tourists or shoppers in Cambridge, and the continental breakfast options are are excellent. although I'll probably bring my own mug for tea or coffee, the cups are tiny!

Not great, not the worst. It feels like it got stuck in the 60-70's. Very oldfashion looking (looks like the Overlook from the shining.
Our 1st night was terrible, as the room we were given had the radiator not working. It was 2°C outside. Even the room next door (only other room available) was not warming up. So we had to put up with an outdated mini fan heater. At least we were put in a room with heating the next day.
Breakfast isn't good either, they only give filtered coffee, bread and yogurt of you don't want to pay extra for a full English.
Annoyingly, there are no power sockets next to the beds. So you can't sit on bed and charge devices while using them at the same time.
Good thing is that the rooms are quite clean, including the bathroom. Staff is also friendly, but seem to be a bit under prepared.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be decent value for money. However, there were a few issues that detracted from the experience.
The room itself could have been cleaner—there were noticeable hairs from previous guests on the floor, which gave a poor first impression.
The continental breakfast was also underwhelming. The selection was quite limited: plain toast bread, only sweet fruit yoghurts or 0%-fat options, and no vegetables at all (although some fresh fruits, which was nice).
Overall, it’s not a bad place to stay if you’re on a budget, but there’s room for improvement.

Hotel nice and clean but very dated. Good location and easy access to city centre. Hotel requires full update and renovation. Rooms need more electrical sockets as well. Continual breakfast free but if you want full English extra £12.50. Had evening meal at hotel, nice food and very reasonably priced. If you book Direct with hotel apparently parking is free but if you book via 3rd Party they charge you £18 per car, so as I met a friend there even though we booked twin room it cost £36 for parking. Very expensive

Another nice stay at Arundel House Hotel. Room was clean with great views over the River Cam and Jesus Green. Room was a small single, but had everything you needed. Bathroom was also clean with a good shower.
There are however bright lights outside the hotel illuminating the hotel frontage that also shine right into the room, so you have to close the curtains to block out the light.
Buffet continental breakfast is included in the room rate, but you can upgrade to full English if you want. Bar was well stocked, but a little overpriced. Car parking cost £18 per day.
Overall a nice stay and will definitely return again.

Dated but clean and comfortable, bar shut even to residents at 2200hrs, we had a large room overlooking the river and park, 10 minute walk to the city centre alongside the river. Parking is £18 for the overnight but ended at 1100.

Very nice staff, sweet traditional hotel

Excellent break. Hotel is perfectly situated- short walk to town yet away from the hustle and bustle. Parking on site is a big advantage. Easy to find and you don’t have to drive in town centre.

We had booked a small double room which was in the annexe behind the car park. Despite having the window open and heating off (end of October) we were still rather hot.
Parking is £18 a day unless you book your room directly with the hotel. Street Parking is available for free about a 10 minute walk away heading out of town.
Very good location to central Cambridge for the price.

The Arundel Hotel is a 15mins walk across the park to the town centre. It has a restaurant but we did not eat there. Our Room 109, located in the coach house, was clean, an adequate size and had a walk in shower (not all did). The continental style breakfast offered a good selection of food and drink. Our only complaint was that the room was over heated and the duvet too thick to really sleep comfortably.

I felt very safe and looked after as a solo traveler. The restaurant and conservatory area were excellent

It’s a bit grubby and very dated.
Like stepping back in time 30 years.
Location is good!

A comfortable and clean stay. Pleasant surroundings but very limited facilities (cooked breakfast not included, bar closed during the day, costly car parking)

Awful. I was woken up at 4am and accused of smoking in the room when i was asleep.

I wanted a good quality quiet hotel for a weekend break alone. I had a small single room which was very clean and well furnished. Bathroom was nice, powerful shower. I would of given 5 stars for cleanliness but on arrival and first use of ensuite toilet it had not been flushed! The staff where pleasant. The food was excellent. Disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Sunday evening. It would have been helpful if there has been a sign up in the reception to say restaurant was not open that night as I had planned to eat there and then had to walk out into town alone at night to find a restaurant. I always felt safe but wouldn't advise walking by canal or over Jesus Green alone late at night. Bed was made up daily and new towels, plenty of milk and biscuits etc with tea facilities, more available from reception if needed. I believe description mentions sound proof rooms however I was woken up after midnight 1 night by couple in next room arguing loudly and slamming doors! My room was on top floor, there are no lifts but I was fine with this as I always walk. The hotel was classic old style decor. Breakfast buffet impressive. I would definitely go back again.

Charging Hotel guests £18 to park onsite is a disgrace. The room was spacious but dirty, cobwebs all over the curtains, rotten window frames, no shower in the bathroom. We were not impressed for £160. The continental breakfast wasn't great and for £160 plus £18 to park, we should have had a full English thrown in. The location is ok, by the river, but nothing special, graffiti on buildings, people were drinking in the street, just generally not an upmarket feel as you would maybe expect in Cambridge. Maybe I should have done more homework before booking. On the whole a bit dissapointing. Would not stay there again unless cleaned up, refurbed with shower, free parking and full english breakfast, then maybe it would be considered.

The hotel is quite shabby with damp smell. The tv in our room didn't work and reception staff couldn't do anything. I complained but staff weren't helpful and I was told the manager was on holiday. No refund or compensation was offered. A cooked breakfast was extra although a picture is shown on the website which is misleading. Parking at the hotel is extra. On the day we arrived there was a bike race in Cambridge with several roads shut so we couldn't drive to the hotel carpark. Staff didn't seem to know anything about it and weren't able to suggest alternative parking or help at all. Good location but pretty disappointing experience.

I was almost breaking my leg walking into the room I was given because there were three steps after the door into the room and nobody told me that. I opened the door into a dark room after a late booking and checking in and walked into an empty space. Awful. Almost breaking my leg. And when I told this to the reception the next morning they couldn't wait to see the back of me out of embarrassment. Poor architecture, poor management. Never coming back again.

Staff not very friendly and don’t interact with holiday guests. Had an issue with cleaning staff not replenishing tea tray and changing towels.

Upon checking in I was immediately told that I had booked through Expedia, so that will be £18 a night to park my car. I had missed some kind of small print somewhere that obviously would have informed me that parking was chargeable, unless you book directly with the hotel. There are better ways to be greeted.
The hotel is old and in need of a complete update.
No air conditioning and the days we stayed, it was very hot. No fan in the room. A complete lack of plugs. A hairdryer is supplied but it is completely useless, and not really fit for purpose. There are lights shining on the front of the hotel in the evening. They switch off at midnight. Our room was at the front and the lights lit up the room, even with the curtains closed.
I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was ideally situated for us as was only 10 mins walk into the main centre of city ..although its not much to look at from outside dont be fooled as it was very nice inside and spacious..we chose a room with just a bath and the room was very nice and clean with a tv and kettle also a hairdryer very handy .. we also had lunch in one of the restaurants and it was lovely very tasty and reasonably priced..a reasonably price hotel ideally situated the only down fall for us was the price of the on site carpark which was a bit steep wasnt expecting that at all and pushed the price up for a cheapish weekend stay

My double room didn’t have a shower, only a bath with separate taps for hot and cold water. I was in a rush that morning for an event at Cambridge Judge Business School, and I didn’t have the time for a full bath. The entire room, including the bathroom, was carpeted and did not seem very clean. Additionally, there were many stairs to climb up and down to reach the room. They did not provide coffee during breakfast, and despite asking three times, I was eventually told, “Breakfast is almost done, so we won’t be providing it anymore.”

This was our first stay in Cambridge and we wanted to be chose to the centre so chose the Arundel House hotel. We found it really easy to get to. Our room was pleasant and clean. The facilities in the room are quite basic but were fine for an overnight stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is parking at the rear of the hotel. It cost us £18 up for overnight parking and it runs to 11:30am on the departure day. You can stay a little longer at £2.50 for every extra hour thereafter which seemed quite reasonable.

Lots of stairs which is stated on website. We was on top floor which was 66 steps. Hotel tired looking and continental breakfast very limited. Average hotel, would not stay again

We had lovely stay. In summer, the rooms could do with air conditioner. Otherwise, excellent location to central, walking distance.

The hotel has a 1970s feel which we quite like. The room is comfortable. It was a hot weekend when we were there and we enjoyed sitting in the garden for quite some time. The only frustration was that the bar closed at 9.30pm. You could buy a bottle of wine from reception but were then told to drink it in the room and not in the public areas.

Single rooms are small, though tidy - main problem was the heat wave, but can't blame the hotel for that

Lovely big room with well equipped large bathroom. Very comfortable.

This is a beautiful, old property, a stately old lady, on a tree-lined street across from the River Cam and a beautiful green park called Jesus Green. Entering the park across a small footbridge, you can easily walk to the Venetian-style boats pushed by punters with long poles, and in the other direction, beyond the small waterfall, a rowing club boathouse. You can also easily walk into downtown Cambridge for restaurants and sightseeing. There are several narrow houseboats on the Cam. The sidewalks and park are lovely if you have small or older children with energy and interest. What makes the property especially charming is the welcome from the receptionist (an elegant Persian lady) which raises this property from “nice” to “a pleasure.” There is parking behind the property at $18 a day, and a walkable co-op grocery. In many ways, this property is ideal for nearly any visitor because of the location, the warm welcome, the cleanliness, the tradition. There is even a restaurant downstairs. There is television in each room, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. The windows open (as there is no AC).

We had a great stay here. We arrived early not expecting to check in but just leave our luggage, but our room was ready so we were able to check in which was good. Inside may appear dated, but its immaculately clean and well kept. The staff were all friendly. Continental breakfast was very good with a good choice. We were situated on the 3rd floor. Please note there is no lift. There are steps in all parts of the hotel so not very accessible, but this was no issue for us. Because of the weather, our room was very hot. The location is ideal for exploring Cambridge. We would recommend this hotel.

Good location; quiet; all facilities as advertised.

I thought it was a lovely hotel. Personal and quiet. The building is beautiful and I loved the areas we could sit especially the sun room!!
My room was exactly as it was advertised and I stayed 7 nights. The only thing to spoil my time there was that I witnessed several guests behaving in a rude manner to the staff, ordering Uber eats and telling them to leave it at reception (when it clearly states in the rooms they do not want that) and quite a lot of slamming of doors and shouting outside people’s rooms! I really felt for the people running this lovely hotel who were attentive and polite at all times. I would definitely stay here again.
