I have never stayed in a "Bed and Breakfast" in the United States that lived up to that description until staying at the Baer. This B&B was stunning historic beauty from the doors to the floors, and our hosts were absolutely lovely! This hotel is definitely for leisure, not a business trip. The front desk has ltd hours, so arrange checking beforehand. Also, the home-cooked breakfast is served family style with other guests at 8:30 am sharp. I loved that! The other guests around our giant 300-years-old breakfast table were from Italy, Germany, Colorado, and beyond. After only two days of communal breakfasts we were trading stories and meeting up for coffees. I have stayed at the Mulberry (down the street) several times and that place is great for a modern-cool kinda vibe, but if you really want to get the feel of what it might have been like to live in a post-war era family home, then this is the place for you! Our hostess Patricia gave us a full oral history of the home (with historical Vicksburg context) at our last breakfast. The Baer is only a few blocks from the main street in Vicksburg and there is ample, secure parking. One nice touch was that they posted daily notices in the lobby of which nearby-restaurants were open. The one suggestion I would make is that in the room described as having a "sitting area", there could be an extra chair or two so that you could comfortably hang out with a few people around the table and not all on one couch.

Beautiful historic property tended by welcoming innkeepers. Delicious homemade breakfast served in their grand dining room. You will get a good nights sleep here in the comfortable beds. I recommend Baer Inn for your next stay!

House was beautiful, friendly people

We enjoyed our room and the breakfast in the morning. The Baere House was located to the historic downtown area.

Breakfast was outstanding. The home is beautiful, and convenient to the attractions of Vicksburg. The only drawback is that the rooms are upstairs, and there is no elevator.

Patricia and Corey were warm and welcoming. Helpful with suggestions.

We can't praise the Bear House Inn enough! The house is absolutely amazing, and the owners are equally amazing!

Excellent stay at the Baer Inn. Owners were friendly and helpful. Historic house was immaculately clean. Easy walk to downtown; short drive to Military Park. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend - will stay there again should I be back in Vicksburg.

Beautiful facility. History of it shows but it has been well maintained and updated. The common areas - dining room/sitting area - are just charming and comfortable. Very clean operation. Breakfast each day is excellent. Great hosts. We would return in a heartbeat.

Host provided a WONDERFUL breakfast! We had a full table of guests & we ALL cleaned our plates! Accommodations were fine. I do wish bottled water would have been placed in the rooms. Ice was limited to a small tabletop machine in the dining room. Disposable cups to put ice in for drinking our soda would have been nice. I am not a big fan of using glasses that were provided on the mantle in the bedrooms. It is much more sanitary to use single-use drinking containers in the rooms, in my opinion.

Baer Houaw is absolutely lovely. The Inn is an historic gem, with fantastic details. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Patricia is a wonderful host and makes her guest feel so comfortable. And, the breakfast is delicious! This was our second stay here and we look forward to future stays.

Vicksburg is a quaint, friendly community with food food and multiple attractions. The Baer House is a great location close to many restaurants and attractions. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

The Baer House was everything we were looking for. It was clean, comfortable, and close to attractions. Our hostess made us feel welcomed and was very informative and helpful with planning our stay. From the 19th century furnishings to the gourmet breakfast, everything was perfectly presented. If you are looking for a place to explore Vicksburg, there isn’t a better place to stay than Baer House.

It was an amazing restored home that was comfortable and clean, with very gracious hosts and a wonderful breakfast.
