Location and history

superb location, staff were very helpful.

Located between train station and town. Easy to find from train station. Staff friendly.spacious room. Not a modern room, but it was absolutely fine. Breakfast had a good variety. Continental style but with eggs etc. Lovely vegetarian cafe hust along the road. Would return.

The hotel is in an excellent location - just a few minutes' walk from the Central Station. The area was pleasant but one major disadvantage was the church across the road - every day it rang the bells from 6 am until 9 pm every hour, and played religious songs and Christmas carols for about a minute also every hour between 8 am and 9 pm. If you expect peace and quiet in your room, that's likely to bother you. The staff were nice and helpful and the breakfast was good and the ingredients fresh. The room was clean and sizeable. Bring your own toiletries as only a tiny bottle of shampoo is provided. Unfortunately, the mattresses were very uncomfortable. Both mornings I woke up at 6-7 with a back pain and had to get up. The shower was good but was leaking (which I've seen mentioned in other reviews in the past so I'm not sure why it hasn't been fixed yet) but housekeeping provided us with an extra towel upon request. Overall, the hotel is okay for the price but mainly for its location. Next time I will book somewhere else.

Centrally located. Attractions and train/bus station are within walking distance. Rooms are tidy and clean with a nice buffet breakfast.

Lovely location and staff, wear and tear is showing, hotel needs some internal repairs and upgrade.

The location was excellent, just a short walk to the Old Town. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.A bar in the hotel would have been nice. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

The stat itself is okay. Unhappy about the arrangement, asked specifically for double rooms but was given twin rooms instead!

hotel is nicely positioned with station and shopping center to one side and the old town to the other. However the area is quite noisy: traffic, pubs and a church next door. no airco and quite hot so windows had to stay open despite noice. Large rooms. Nice breakfast with good choices. Staff very helpful.

Hotel fair enough for the price. We asked about safe facilities and were told there were none, even though this had been advertised. As we were only staying for 2 nights it was more an inconvenience rather than end of the world. Same with the tv - 1 English channel but reception was patchy. Breakfast was dine with a selection of hot and cold items, cakes and fruit..

Very nice 5 days seeing all that krakow has to offer the hotel is well positioned to do this walked my feet off plenty of bars and restaurants near by excellent

Extremely convenient location to the railway station and Krakow’s attractions. Very comfortable room, amazing variety of food for breakfast.

Me and my sisters stayed in the hotel just for one night. It was clean and peaceful. The person working at the reception was polite and helpful. We liked variety of things for breakfast. Overall great place.

Hotel Matejko is located near to the main train station and the main square. Easy to find and close enough to walk to the main attactions. Trips and excursions can be organised from the reception and the tour buses pick you up right from outside the hotel. Breakfast is great with a variety of choice. Great hotel, would highly recommend!

Great little hotel, 3 mins walk from Market Square, 1 min from shopping mall and 5 mins to train and bus stations. Excellent location. Very clean rooms, great free breakfast, friendly staff, perfect city centre hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

AWESOME! Great location - just off the main strip, great price!, awesome front desk help. The breakfast was incredible! The best European breakfast I have had, as an American traveler. Highly recommend this hotel - although there is no internet in the rooms - just the restaurant on the first floor. We definitely managed for all the other positive aspects - if you are just looking for a quiet place to crash - great service and great price- you found it! It's also just a few doors down from the Cracow Tours company that we booked most of our trips from. A++ highly recommend!

Helpful friendly staff (especially receptionist) Nicely appointed throughout Nice rooms - but not amazing Good quality bathroom, clean, not covered in limescale. Decent shower. Great location Stayed for my stag weekend and it was way above what id expect for this. But if id taken my girlfriend for a romantic weekend, id have been a bit disappointed. Poor breakfast / restaurant. Bar wasnt open the whole time we were there and its only a tiny one in corner of restaurant.

Hotel was very comfortable, generous breakfasts, excellent staff. Location brilliant, just a short walk to main square and all attractions. Close to massive shopping mall. Close to train and bus stations. Only minor complaint was that hotel bar closes at 10pm, if you want a night cap but other bars close by.

The hotel was very conveniently located just outside the city walls. It was clean comfortable and all the front desk staff went out of their way to help us. There was a good variety of food at breakfast. Good value for money. Very highly recommended.
