I love staying at this location! The staff was fantastic and the breakfasts were wonderful! The room was cosine clean and the bathroom was great although I wish the showerhead was a little higher quality. Overall, I thought it was a great experience and I would stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location, block and a half from the central train station (Hauptbonhof), and the Cathedral. We had a studio apartment. The staff was incredible. The breakfast was fantastic, with outstanding and I mean outstanding, service. The desk staff were very helpful in giving directions and printing tickets to events that we purchased online. We would stay there again without question.

The hotel was in a perfect location, just a few minute walk from the Dom. Simple, but very clean with good beds.
Staff should be specially mentioned (reception, breakfast room) as it was superb, very helpful and delivered the best service ever!
Very good breakfast: layout, choice, very good coffee. Can not fault it in any way.
To be mentioned, that the reception and the breakfast room is in a sister hotel on the same road (1min walk). The check-in late at night can be that bit trickier (reception closed) and you will need to walk down the road for the breakfast.

Staff friendly and professional. Great breakfasts. Location good for centre of Cologne (although walking through train station at night not particularly pleasant). Annex room dark, tv not working properly (stuck on one channel), toilet continued to flush all night. We asked ot be moved to main part of hotel which was much nicer.

I had to check in at a different location to where I was staying. Breakfast was also in that location so I had to put a coat on and walk to breakfast down the road every morning. Breakfast needs to have more hot food - not small crudites ans sweets. I was hungry and had to eat again after breakfast elsewhere. Room was very small. no wardrobe. Radiator kept making squeaking noises. Duvet was too thin. Pillow was square so I bought my own luckily. No bar in hotel. main good points were proximity to hbf. would probably stay somewhere else next time with bigger room and restaurant in same building as my room.

Absolutely wonderful location! So close to everything! Clean, staff was friendly enough, and the bed was pretty comfortable. Not bad at all for the price!

The staff were attentive and very helpful. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had. The beds and rooms were comfortable. The location is superb- very close to the train station and easy walking to the river and main city areas. It was quiet. Would stay again.

it feels more of a hostel. Check in staff was excellent. Room was the smallest i had ever stayed in. Doors close loudly and room was very tiny making it difficult to move around the room. Excellent breakfast though. Lots of choices and excellent staff member at the breakfast.

This is a good hotel for an overnight stay or for those planning to be out of the room all day as it was not possible to sit and relax anywhere.
Very pleasant staff and a good selection at breakfast are positives.

It was like living in a dollhouse! The hotel is very small in a narrow building but once you get inside it's like a different world. The interior design is magically beautiful. Beds are wide and with a good selection of pillows. The breakfast room is small but the variety of foods is astounding, good options with vegetables, meats and sweets available. The staff is very friendly and helpful, easy to feel close to them. The location near the central station is perfect, easy to walk but the noise of trains doesn't bother you. I would go there again!

The location was good and the room was clean but tiny. There was not even space for a wardrobe so I kept my dresses in my suitcase.
There were only a few tables for breakfast so all of them were taken and I had to have my breakfast at the reception on a spare table. Not worth the money I spent. I wouldn’t go back, way too expensive for what I got.

The location of the hotel was good. Quiet neighborhood. Two blocks away from train station. Walking distance to a lot of attractions . The breakfast was superb, great variety, fresh and delicious.
The shower drain was clogged in my room. That would be my only complaint. I would highly recommend and/ or come back.

ich war nicht, wie eigentlich gebucht im Hotel Domstern untergebracht, sonder im "schwesternhotel" Hotel Domspitzen in der gleichen Straße.Hatte leider das Einzelzimmer hinter dem Frühstücksraum bekommen. Sehr dunkel, Eingangs sind die Lichtschalter weit rechts hinter der Badezimmertür. Dieses Zimmer machte den Eindruck eines ehemaligen Abstellraums. War nicht so einladend.

Nice and quiet, clean, amazing staff, really good breakfast (made to order eggs!). Perfect location - 3 min walk to the train station. WiFi was reliable. Room is small, but great for Europe. I will be back!

This review is actually for the Hotel Domspitzen, a sister of the Domstern. Our check-in at the Dormstern was chaotic due to a communication problem and we ended up down the street at the Domspitzen. Our stay there was outstanding. The room was smallish but nicely appointed, with a spacious bathroom. Possibly because of the mix-up we were treated like royalty by everyone on the staff. The included breakfast was amazing, with (unbelievably) cooked to order eggs in addition to the usual German style buffet. The location was on a quiet street within easy walking distance of the central train station and the Cathedral. I would give the Hotel Domspitzen my highest recommendation if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Cologne.

The hotel is a small town house type and has been renovated to high standards, but in a quite minimalist style. The room was quiet, and adequate in size, but the storage space would not really be adequate for long stays. The star attraction is the breakfast, which as well as all the stuff you expect has extra dainties such as prawns in mayonnaise and chocolate pudding. Service is excellent, but the hotel is unstaffed for part of the day. There is a lift.

This hotel is managed by two very friendly men, who took care of all questions. The breakfast, included in the room rate was very good. On the downside, my room (303) was very small, with no room for even a bedside nightstand. Further, the bed was not very comfortable. I did mention these concerns to the host. Please note that the rooms do not have AC, could be rough going in hot weather. I recommend highly for quality of service in a personal service conscious boutique hotel.

We found the staff at this hotel very helpful, the breakfast was great and so was the location. But, the rooms were VERY small and there was no airconditioning. The photos we had seen showed a little fridge in the rooms, which there was not. The staff kindly provided us with a fan but our two nights were still very hot and airless. Sadly, because of this we would not stay here again.

Actually, we had booked this hotel, but were moved down the street to their sister hotel, the Dom Spitzen, This review is for the Dom Spitzen. This hotel is right near the cathedral, a short walk to the river and the old town and right near the train station. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast very good. The only negatives are that theWiFi connections are slow and the rooms are a little hot. They are very nicely decorated and very roomy.
