The staff were so helpful in arranging lift passes, ski rentals and transportation. Great family vibe with home cooked comfort food. All meals were excellent. The onsite cafe/bar was an added bonus.
The staff were all super friendly and made us feel welcome at all times.

The service is superb. Milky house fetched us from Niseko JR station upon arrival. This has minimised our hazard from finding transport to access the hotel. The breakfast and dinner served is fabulous.

Fantastic place and the food is excellent. Owner is a little grouchy though.

Country Inn Milky is a wonderful peaceful family-owned place, great value for your money if you stay in Niseko. The owner speaks pretty fluent English (better than staff of many hotels!) and breakfast is great (though they didnt tell me in advance that it requires additional payment, neither have asked me whether I even wanted this, which kind of disturbs me, though I would have opted for it anyway). The rooms are big and the beds are very comfortable. They are perfect for families. Theres free WiFi in the common area but not in the rooms (I was actually able to catch low signal in my room with my laptop but not the phone).Niseko ski resorts are very close (note that I rented a car so I dont know about public transportation). I should warn you though that aside from the ski resorts theres nothing much to do in Niseko in general so if youre not into skiing you should reconsider whether you even want to visit the area.

This is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The hotel is rustic in atmosphere but very well maintained and comfortable. The staff are incredible and went out of their way to make our stay outstanding. They were able to communicate very well with us and even assisted in helping us make arrangements. The location is a 5 minute walk to the lifts at Annupuri ski area. The hotel is able to arrange for lift tickets and rentals at a discounted rate as well. Also, the hotel offers breakfast and dinner which was outstanding through the trip. Easy to provide a wholehearted recommendation for this hotel.

Good location, just 3 min walk from Annupuri. Houseowner is very nice - willing to provide free ride to / pickup from JR station up to 4pm everyday. The breakfast and dinner are of very good quality (and not expensive at all).
This is our first time to try skiing and the houseowner proactively found a Cantonese coach and booked the ski gear for us! What a nice service!
Really enjoy the stay here! Will stay here again if we visit Niseko!

I stayed at the Milky Inn for 6 nights with 3 friends and we were thoroughly impressed. If you stay here be sure to have supper as the food is amazing. Also the owner does nightly drop off at onsens which we really appreciated as annupuri is a bit remote. One thing I would note is that a lot of the rooms share bathrooms and I believe there is only one shower for the whole main lodge. This was not a big problem for us it just meant that you occasionally had to wait for the shower. Another thing is that the Milky Inn has a common area, but this area is sometime used as part of the restaurant if the restaurant is full, so you may not have a place to hang out after skiing other than your room. However these were minor negatives in my opinion and overall I would say that this is a great place and with helpful and super friendly staff!

a bit strange forcing guest to follow their own schedule changing.
(In the morning, all of sudden, they asked me to check out by 9:30 due the owner had a plan to go to somewhere (?) and asked me to pay a bill while I was having breakfast. When I came back with my credit card, they didn't want to proceed it for the reason they were having breakfast...@@
so I went back to my room then in 5 mins they knocked the door to ask me to pay @@
They knocked the door several times to say paying or to remind me to check out by 9.30.. )
Breakfast should be cleanly prepared..I found something n told them. they gave me new onrle but I already lost my appetites.
Tap water in the public bathroom has only cold water...had to wash my face and brish my teeth with freezing cold water...

Country Inn Milk House is the wonderful product of Western bed and breakfast meets Japanese ryokan. We were traveling as a couple and a single, and our room was great to accommodate that group dynamic. We had a little loft for our single friend and the bottom to ourselves (if you have a similar dynamic, ask for the Fox room). An older Japanese gentleman, whom we later deemed as our Japanese Grandpa for the trip, owns the place and is very active in creating its culture and ambience. Every night for only ¥800 a head, he personally drives his patrons to onsens in the area, ranging from fancy marble ones in the Hilton to quaint traditional ones buried in snow in the middle of seemingly no where. Also, he and his staff cook breakfast and dinner for the patrons every day for ¥2000 a meal. Sounds pricey at first, but both meals are several courses and very good, plus we met many and befriended other travelers from the community-driven meals so I definitely would recommend doing so! I will warn that it is very ryokan-like in that no room has its own bathroom; all the bathrooms and showers are communal. We personally dont mind that because we travel in Japan a lot and that is the norm, but some people might want more privacy. Lastly, the place is very close to the ski slopes; only 5 minutes away by foot! A++ and would highly recommend Country Inn Milky House!

Very fun little B&B/ pension right below Niseko Annapurni. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic meals. Much better than staying in Niseko village (aka drunken Aussieville). Ski in, ski out!

My son (7 yrs old) and I booked for two days and extended for one more at this friendly and charming country inn. We would have extended for a week if we did not have a return flight already booked. It was an immersive experience of Hokkaido filled with sincerity.
I will return to Milky House Country Inn just to have the gourmet experience I had again and again. They have been serving local Hokkaido cuisine in the same manner for the last thirty years. It is beautifully plated, fresh and taste so good. There is no other restaurant I would rather be. In the 3 days I stayed at Milky House, I had fish caught using ice fishing method, their signature seafood nabe, seasonal oysters served two ways, chicken confit, lamb shabu shabu, grilled codfish with parsley pesto, assortment of appetizers and home made deserts that are really top restaurant standard. Breakfast comes with milk from the farm. The rooms are clean with nice big windows. The owner has over 30 years of experience and has contacts that can help arrange activities, english speaking ski or snow board instructors and they come at prices only available to Japanese! There is also a company that can deliver all the equipment and gear you need for snowboarding or skiing from children to adults. Highly recommended! Great value for couples or families

The staff at the Milky House were very helpful and nothing was too much of an effort. The owner prepared some amazing meals with different food styles prepared but mostly with a Japanese influence. The daily onsen trips to the different onsens was a highlight.
