Our experience at the La Pasion was great. The hotel is good, clean and the staff is friendly. Breakfast was also good. My husband needed to work so the internet wasn't super reliable for what he needed, besides that everything was great and I highly recommend it.

Hotel was very private and quiet, yet plenty going on every afternoon in park across from hotel. Staff was great! And 5th Avenue is only two streets away (very short walk).

I had stayed at this hotel 2 times before Covid and I found it a bit spartan and urban but clean and well staffed. On this visit I arrived at from a hotel in Cancun at 1 in the afternoon and they were not very nice and insisted I come back after their 3 o'clock check in time. Upon returning after 3, the room they put me in was way too small and not what was portrayed in the website. The other 2 rooms I was offered were not adequate or very clean. The condition of the rooms and the facility are not good. I had a reservation for 3 nights. I stayed about 30 minutes while I found another hotel. I believe they still charged me for 3 nights. There are much better hotel options available even at this price point. I do not recommend.

La Pasión is a gem ! It is an older hotel with only 60 rooms , but it is charming. Located fronting the Plaza Municipal, which on Friday-Sunday hosts a market with food and items. Breakfast at adjoining restaurant is available only to guests of the hotel who prepay, and is well worth the price. The restaurant opens later in the day to the public and features mostly Spanish food , not Mexican. 2 small pools in the lush courtyard, and 1 rooftop pool. If you are lucky perhaps Octavio the cat will be seen . The staff are wonderful. Omar is extremely helpful with anything you need. There is a small programable safe in each room. Water pressure is good and lots of hot water on demand. Arrival by ADO bus must be at the Plaza Fundadores station ,and it is then an 8 block walk to the hotel. But departure to the airport can also be from a second station just 2 blocks from the hotel . There is a money change in the Plaza Fundadores station. You are only 2 blocks from Quinta Avenida , where all of the action is. And about 6 blocks from the beach. Close enough to everything including Coco Bongo, but far enough not to be disturbed.

The staff was great from day one. The room was very cute and cozy with a great view. Sheets looked like they could’ve used changing and there isn’t a spa even though their Expedia says it is which is one of the main reasons I booked were the only cons. Parking is underground and limited. Can’t thank Luis enough for helping me with getting the boot on my rental removed. He was very kind and helpful.

Visited 4 days in August of 2024. Highly recommended hotel on this site. But as a couple (my fault - should have known) used the on suite tap water to brush our teeth and both got sick the 2nd day. ***Use Bottle water only. Property budget wise is on point and the location is excellent. Turn left go 2 blocks and the Lido Beach club 600 pesos each for the day pass - umbrella / lounger does not include food , but highly rated . Tip when you get to the beach turn left go past Lido’s and go to the Playa Palms beach resort . No day pass cost required just buy their food and they will get you an umbrella and Lounger . Fishing boats are beach docked in front and plenty of gaps to swim into the ocean . Bargain shopping deal. Back to the hotel . Good breakfast , evening food market every weekend across the street and a Walmart to the right , 1 block away . Bad - Rolling power outages at the hotel and hot water unpredictable in the shower . The $ saved , did not translate into a good trip because of the water poisoning . I will invest in a better property next time

Do not take anything valuable to this hotel the housekeepers will steal it. I lost $500 out of my bags. They are thieves do not use this company

We stayed at La Pasion 5 years ago. We loved the staff and the breakfast also that it wasn’t far or near the touristic avenue. This time we we’re disappointed the towels were stained, cleaned but stained, same with the bed sheets, the elevator didn’t work, breakfast wasn’t great as last time it was half of it, it seems like they are not taking care of the amenities, we had an issue with the safe and there was nobody to help us till the next day. So only the manager would help us during the day. That caused a hardship because we didn’t have enough money to pay for our tours so we had to pay with card and they charged us more. Bottom line I wouldn’t stay there again. Not recommended

The hotel needs a good makeover as the facilities clearly show aging issues.

Very friendly staff, great attention. Breakfast is served in small quantities but good overall. Including some other eating options after noon could be good too. Rooms smell nice and were very clean, the jacuzzis upstairs were comfortable but one didn’t work. You can walk anywhere from the hotel, great option and very well positioned.

The only negative thing was not that amazing hotel fault was the Playa del Carmen Feria was so noisy but amazing hotel and very friendly staff !! Thank you

I love this hotel, and more importantly the people who work here. Always attentive, helpful and cheerful. Very comfortable with good linens. Just far enough from the circus life on fifth to be quiet. They have cats
