We really liked this hotel. The people were very nice the restaurant was very good and it is in a beautiful location. If you are looking at staying in a peaceful area away from the chaos of Lugano this is it.

Lovely comfortable room in old world charm for family of four but no air conditioning. Our own minifan worked well.
Views from room of Lake Lugano were outstanding and sunset was magnificent. Their lakeside Italian restaurant and free breakfast was outstanding. Wish we could have stayed longer. Parked our car in their garage. Loved swimming off their private dock and lounging under the trees.

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed the location and hotel. The views from the room are absolutely stunning. The food for dinner was good, we didn’t like the menu and they made us something custom. A few things they could improve on - a smaller room key, coffee in the room, and a refrigerator in the room.
The grounds are so pretty! Loved the pizza at the bar across the street.

Wonderful and charming hotel by the lake, with an amazing history.
Our room had a private balcony with a view to the lake and courtyard. Breathtaking!
Service was excellent. Breakfast was simple but good, but if you want a real cappuccino, you have to pay and order at the bar, which we didn’t mind. Otherwise you have the automatic machine next to the breakfast buffet which we didn’t like.
There’s parking on the premises, however, be advised that it’s €15 per day. Worth it.
The hotel is in Valsolda, a short drive from Lugano. Would definitely stay at Stella D’ Italia again.

It was impossible to take a bad photo at this hotel. It’s has so much charm, large rooms and a gorgeous lake view from all guest areas. I would stay here again.

The property was very well maintained and the view from our balcony was beautiful. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. The only drawback was the parking situation (very limited and a tight squeeze for our vehicle).

Very nice hotel on the water. It is old but we enjoyed our stay very much. The area is very quiet and tranquil and the hotel gardens are beautiful and right on the water. Only negative was some of the furnishings are quite old.

Worth the short drive (~20 min) from Lugano for the adventurous traveler that wants a unique experience vs. typical city hotel. Fantastic location on the shore of Lake Lugano. Charming property with amazing ambiance throughout, stunning views of the lake.

Title: Stellar Experience with Minor Flaws at Hotel Stella d'Italia
During my stay at Hotel Stella d'Italia, I was impressed by the friendly staff, cleanliness, and tranquility of the premises. The stunning view from my room enhanced the overall experience.
Unfortunately, the slow internet connection posed a challenge throughout my visit.
The hotel's restaurant served an exceptional risotto, which was a highlight of my stay. However, the saturnine maître d's unsmiling demeanor and apparent displeasure to serve customers detracted from the otherwise enjoyable dining experience.
In summary, Hotel Stella d'Italia offers a pleasant stay with a few areas ripe for improvement.

Set right on Lake Lugano, with amazing views of Lake Lugano. The rooms were nice with a balcony and the bathrooms were very nice. The staff was super friendly and professional. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant and the food was amazing.

Loved the private lake access of the hotel and the views were just beautiful. We really enjoyed the restaurant as well- the food and service were excellent. The rooms were clean and compact- the hallways would have needed a good vacuum.
Be aware that there is no street parking so you need to factor in the extra charge for parking under the hotel. We wish the front desk would have a sign of their opening hours as we wanted to check out early and no one was there. What was the worst though is that the front door of the hotel was locked!! I had never been locked into a hotel before..

Beautiful located, needs more care and a bit of love... food was ok but the same, needs more attention on the details, and freshness. Breakfast was poor. Scrambled eggs are extra, the boiled 6 min eggs still running...the frontdesk was very nice and helped us friendly, but the waiters are a bit „stiff“ but the view out of the window on the lake was stunning!!
