This hostel is well run. The six bed dorm was very comfortable. It had AC, light, electrical outlet and curtains. It made for a very comfortable sleep. The staff were very helpful and remembered my name for the whole stay(nice touch). I enjoyed a couple of the tours through the hostel. The location is also very good.

The hostel was struggling with some of the evening activities. I am not one to really participate in evening hostel activities so I it was not a negative issue for me. Overall it was a great stay.

Best hostal I’ve ever stayed, big rooms, great breakfast with many sections, good common area, was soooo comfortable to spend a few days!! Location was good, few minutes walk from centro. The staff all spoke good English which was rare for Mexico😬

La habitación demasiado caliente... y el aire acondicionado no enfriaba lo suficiente además de hacer ruidos raros. Las camas a pesar de estar limpias, sus almohadas son o muy altas o muy bajas y muy duras... amanecí con dolor de cuello

I had a bit of concern that this might be too much of a party hostel for me (but fine for my 19 yr old daughter). It was actually perfect for both of us. Very social, but the activities were geared to any age (and they had a good mix of different ones). Staff was so friendly and helpful, and there is a decent restaurant attached if needed, although there are many great restaurants in the area also. The hostel is in a prime location for sightseeing and shopping. I would definitely choose this place for accommodation again.

Casa Pepe is in a perfect location for access to the main city center, markets, shops and food! The star was incredibly nice and really can help you (like advice on how to get to the ADO station directly for only 8 pesos!-Thanks Julian). The decor was really nice and very enjoyable to use. Perfect, wifi - a number of outlets, a chess set, Pac Man - even a Bitcoin ATM?!, seating areas everywhere - really nice! The bed modules are also perfect with the shelving, sockets, bed light, and storage. A very nice comfy comforter too. Everything was super clean :-)

Only on tiny thing - at times the room temperature was freezing! (and dim light) so not that inviting to go into the room for more than an errand or to sleep at night. I was worried that I would be cold at night but I was not! The temperature through the night seemed fine and the comforter was perfect.

Great breakfast with fruit juice, coffee, fruit plate and eggs, which was included in my booking price, but not for everyone (I'm not sure why.) We never ordered food at other times of day. There was always free purified water available. The street is quiet and very atmospheric, , partly for pedestrians only, and a pleasant short walk past nice trees and plazas to the Zocolo. It is easy for a taxi to drop off and pick up at. Huge comfortable clean room with air conditioning and comfortable bed. Small kitchen available for cooking and storing food.

The lady in the kitchen (Mari) was very helpful.

A guy who had the bunk bed above mine (a guy that I did not see using the bunk, even at night) left all his things in the bunk enclosure, instead of putting them in one of the available lockers. His bag (a man's shoulder bag, I think) went missing, and (when he actually appeared in the dormitory - the first time I had seen him), he accused me of taking his bag. I had four suitcases of luggage that I had brought from Costa Rica (where I had been stuck for three years because of border closures), so the last thing I needed was more things, especially not a man's shoulder bag. Nevertheless, the manager wanted to blame someone, so she did not have to pay for the lost bag (which the guy should have put in a locker, if it was special property). So the manager demanded that I pay her 500 pesos, for the bag, or she would call the police. So I left, and my 100 pesos (deposit for the room scanning card) was not refunded. I am 82, and I have stayed in hundreds of hostels (in many countries), but that incident at Casa Pepe was my worst experience in a hostel, ever.
