Es ist wirklich alles so wie auf den Bildern - einfach noch viel schöner. Wir wurden ganz herzlich empfangen. Die Zimmer sind aus Holz, sehr sauber und grosszügig. Dusche und WC im freien mit Sichtschutz. Du hörst die Vögel zwitschern... Der Pool ist auch toll, das Essen grossartig und die Hilfe des Gastgebers perfekt. Wir können die Unterkunft nur empfehlen.

Nichts negatives. Die Unterkunft ist etwas abgelegen und nur über eine holprige Strasse zu erreichen. Das dauert vielleicht 10-15 Minuten. Dafür befindet man sich inmitten der Natur.

The room was very big and clean. It has a very nice view at both Pidurangala Rock and Lion Rock. The staff was friendly and helpful, we had dinner at there and the food was tasty. It is relatively close to both rocks, aprox. 15-20 minutes by tuktuk.

The pool was not so well maintained, the water was a bit dirty. There is nothing around the pool, so it gets very hot.

Food was good, staff was very kind, chalet felt like hut in the woods with very nice attic area outside. Small hhotel human size.

Pool was really very dirty, green, could not see your feet and with frogs living inside. Booking team did a “mistake” in our reservation and gave us a much cheaper room on the first night, pretended it was what we had booked at first, yet asked us to pay for the luxury chalet rate (50$ more than the actual room price). Dis not have hot water the entire stay.

Aruna was a great host! :-) Very quiet place.

beautiful room in a Jungle area! The guy was extremaly gently, very nice breakfast and the room and the view super! A different kind of location, Great experience!

This is quite a unique but very beautiful hotel. We stayed only one night but it was so lovely. The staff were so kind. The room was amazing and unique with a view of the Lion's Rock which in the morning was quite astounding. The outdoor bathroom was amazing. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and served in a lovely dining area. The Lion's Rock is not far away and can be visited in the early morning.

it was in the middle of nowhere- so good to chill out! the staff was super helpful, nice pool to hang out, nice views! food was also very good! Aruna was very helpful and attentive!

google maps didn’t really know where it was, so it took us a little longer to arrive.

One of the best places we’ve stayed in our 6 months of travelling! - The location of the hotel is remote, but very tranquil and beautiful. We loved the silence and the mesmerizing landscape. - The rooms are spacious and very clean! We felt incredibly comfortable and also enjoyed the big outdoor bathroom. The shower pressure was excellent, which is quite rare in Asia, and the water was hot. - The pool is beautiful, with a good temperature, and is cleaned very often. - Lastly, the man who was the only staff member on the ground when we visited, was so kind and welcoming. He cooked amazing food for us and always met us with a smile. We really enjoyed your company! All in all, our stay was an unforgettable experience and I’d recommend it to anyone who’s considering. Thank you!

The chalet was really cute and private. It was great to watch the starts from the chalet and wake up to the sound of nature. Nice swimming pool to refresh after a long day out. The guy working at the property and preparing us breakfast is also very welcoming:)

Nice room with very nice balcony and great staff.

Would be nice if you could buy a drink at the hotel as it an amazing place to have a beer during sunset.

Our host Nuwan was extremely helpful and made our stay at Rock Shade the best in Sri Lanka so far. The hotel is brand new and the rooms are really beautiful. The staff helped arranging our tuk tuks and the safari tot Ecopark (which was great). Also Nuwan made great breakfast and even a fantastic dinner when we arrived at the hotel late.

The hotel is quite far from Sigriya and some drivers found it difficult to find as there are not many signs. Also it would be nice to place some sunbeds at the swimming pool.

The Charlet is a little bit outside of civilization, but it was a special experience. You need a tuk tuk to get to places, but the staff organized everything, even to get to the lions rock and back :) the room was super clean and the bathroom too. we had warm water.

The pool has no sunbeds, so it was not to comfortable to lay/sit there and the dogs were quite loud but that’s Sri Lanka I guess :)

Absolutely lovely place to relax and enjoy nature. The host is amazing. Would definitely recommend to stay at least one night and visit the rock and enjoy the nature.

We really enjoyed this beautiful place! The tree house is lovely and located at a quiet place. The bed is really comfortable! Also the food is nice. The staff is really friendly and helpful! And always in for a good conversation. It will take you around 30 min on a dirt road to go the Sigiriya rock.

really beatiful stay in the quiet and serene nature. the owner and his staff are very helpfull with arranging the hikes near or help with tuktuk or busses. we felt very relaxed and welcome here :)
