Die Aussicht war einfach überragend, insbesondere vom Pool aus. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit mit Empfehlungen zu Aktivitäten in der Umgebung. Wir hatten Halbpension gebucht mit Abendessen, das Essen war sehr gut.

Die Zufahrt zum Hotel ist sehr steil und schwer befahrbar, mit schwach motorisierten Mietwagen könnte man da Probleme bekommen. Die "Hütten", in denen die Gäste untergebracht werden, sind recht klein. Die Dusche im Zimmer war undicht, sodass der Boden mit Wasser vollgelaufen ist.

Beautiful location. Seeing and hearing the waves crash on the shore hundreds of feet below is very calming. I also found it to be an excellent place to get work done. Wifi in my unit and in the common areas was superb. The staff was exceptional. Among other things they booked me taxis to go to and from hikes.

You pay for the seclusion with the bumpy mountain road leading to the hotel. I think it adds to the cost of taxis.

Gostei da tranquilidade do local, do barulho das ondas, a comodidade das instalações no geral e dos quartos. Lugar ideal para quem procura paz de espirito, um destino para relaxar e fugir da rotina de uma cidade agitada. Mesmo com o estabelecimento cheio, não nos sentimos incomodados com outros hospedes, ou com qualquer outro barulho. Funcionários sempre zelosos, simpáticos e atenciosos. Comida sempre boa, desde o pequeno almoço ao jantar, incluindo também o serviço de bar da área de piscina. Enfim, um destino para voltar vezes sem conta.

O preço das refeições está muito cara, visto que a maioria dos produtos usados são locais e não acarretam custos de transportes ou taxas extras. Outro aspeto não muito favorável é a estrada que da acesso ao hotel

Die Lage war einerseits überragend, andererseits recht schwer zu erreichen, da das Taxi noch einen langen, steilen Schotterweg vor sich hat. Insofern fährt man nicht mal eben hin und her oder abends zu Essen raus.. Die Simplizität des Hotels ist gewollt und danach sucht man es sich auch aus. Alles da und nicht mehr als man braucht! Staff und Restaurant/Snach-Bar stehen immer zur Verfügung.

Der Weg nach oben war schon recht aufwändig.

After a week in the Hotel I can say this is a secret people will be lucky to discover. The island is the most stunning place in the world (I’ve never seen landscape like this in my life) but RM Green Hotel is also unlike anything even on this island: a remote, private, place to stay staffed with simply wonderful, kind people. Although it is not easy to get to the island or to the hotel (there is no airport), Irene was attentive, quickly responding to my messages on Booking.com to help before I arrived. The journey to the hotel is crazy, and finally the last road to the hotel is something you will never forget (perhaps the steepest in your life!!). The huts are simple but very private with their own terrace space and seating, facing into cliffs and across the Atlantic. I had the best view of sunset in the hotel. The huts are completely furnished with their own bathroom. The bed is a very peaceful, with a separate sofa and desk. The WiFi is unique to each hut and fast. I booked both breakfast and dinner - the hotel is remote with nowhere close without taxi each way - it’s somewhere you want to return to and stay after a long day. The staff are amazing in both morning and evening. Breakfast is full of fresh foods and drinks, all facing the Atlantic. I took food for my hikes in the mountains. At sunset after amazing scenery and experiences, I’d return and shower and use the infinity pool in the clouds to relax. I could choose any meal which they would cook for me and a drink from the bar too. All of the staff were so friendly, sometimes visiting my hut after I relaxed to say hello and take my dinner order ahead. Visiting Santo Antão is different to any experience in my life. The island is remote and you must be happy to walk and explore in difficult terrain and complex routes between even nearby villages. Everyone on this island is so friendly and kind, but best of all was being able to return to the private luxury of RM Green Hotel.

Nothing bad, but some tips: Don’t plan to stay in the hut during the day - it’s too hot (and this is an island to explore). If you have fears of heights ask to see different huts, some are near to steeper drops than others! It is hard to get the “shared” taxi to the Hotel as Lombo Branco is remote. You need another taxi or truck from the bottom of the steep hill to Lombo Branco which does not pass more than once or twice a day. Find a good taxi driver who is happy to drop you and meet you each day to and from your hikes (the hotel can help!)
