Zinc Spur Estate was a great place to stay for us. Although instructions say it might be hard to find, we had no trouble at all finding or accessing the home, day or night. It is near the main highway, so you can hear the landscape-muted traffic from the yard, but the house is quiet and cozy. The house was very large, spacious, and clean, lots of natural light and open space, and had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. The owner was very responsive to any and all requests, making everything work smoothly. Many comfortable beds, nice bedrooms, and modern bathrooms for guest to thumb-wrestle over, a clean and convenient hot tub, a large pet-friendly yard (not fenced though), plenty of parking space including indoor garage space, and a well equipped kitchen made everyone in our group of 5 happy. Wife and I really liked the very unique upstairs master suite vanity sinks. We had a small hiccup with the hot tub, but it may have been user error. Although it appeared hot and clean on check-in, when our son tried to use it he said it wouldn't hold temperature and cooled down too quickly. We never verified this, and the owner assured us it would be checked out and fully functional for any future guests, and I am sure it will. Light switches were clearly labeled, and settling in was a five-minute affair (minus the room-choosing thumb-wrestling). The location was perfect for us, almost exactly halfway between Hailey and Ketchum, so either town was but 5-10 minutes away. The only thing possibly missing was a little firewood for the outdoor fire pit, and maybe another tabletop/bathstand near the upstairs vanity. We will gladly stay here again when we return to the Sun Valley area, if available. And a huge Thank You to the owner for rescuing and returning our abandoned swimwear.

We stayed here for a long weekend. It's a short drive to Hailey for groceries and a short drive from Ketchum. There is great mountain biking within 20 minute drive. Stanley, Redfish Lake, and Alturas Lake are about an hour and a half drive or less. Beautiful, but with little kids, this takes a bit more planning. The house is great. The master suite is awesome! The property manager is super easy to communicate with and very responsive. The turn off the highway into the drive is a little tricky, though Had a great stay.

What a great rental!! Nice private location, close to everything you need and want to do while visiting. House was very spacious and clean. The large kitchen, dining table, and hot tub were used extensively by our group of 10. Manager very responsive with updates and questions. Highly recommend!

Great house and property for large groups

This home was a perfect for our family vacation. It was clean and super convenient to our activities in Ketchum, Daily, Sun Valley and Sawtooth National Forest. The new owner and property manager have made many improvements. The large kitchen and common areas were very appreciated. The communication was timely and access was simple. We hope to be back.

Beautiful location, beautiful, spacious house and garage. Great kitchen! A grand piano made our stay over the top! There were a couple of small housekeeping issues that were attended to very promptly. The “sink” in the master bath was unique and somewhat difficult to use. Overall, we would return in a heartbeat!! Love it!

This property is not only convenient but beautiful and spacious. We had a group of 13 women on a meditation retreat and it was perfect. We brought a chef that fell in love with the kitchen and the property had all the space we needed for the activities we engaged in. There was enough parking for 6+ vehicles and the grounds in the fall were just stunning. Thomas, the property manager, was perfect - responsive, understanding and accommodating. We love him!

Our entire family came to Hailey/Ketchum for our son’s wedding. Our group was large - so we rented the main house as well as the guest house. The lawn area beautifully accommodated our evening rehearsal dinner. The patio areas at the main house were wonderful. The home itself accommodated our large family so well. In the evenings guests would join us & it never felt cramped or too small. The wonderful dining table was large & perfect. Our grandchildren loved the island with bar chairs to play on their iPads. Such a comfortable welcoming home in a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be back. Thomas was a perfect host. Addressed all of our needs & questions.

Great mid-valley accommodation for our family gathering. Slept 12 adults comfortably. Great open floor plan that was fun for visiting and yet enough space to get away. Kitchen had what we needed for preparing meals. BBQ came in handy for grilling. Many enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the creek. Pretty setting in the trees with the creek. 5 minutes to Hailey and 10 minutes to Ketchum. Large garage for storing bikes and other toys and more than adequate laundry facilities. Definitely recommend for a larger group.

We had a great stay and found the Zinc Spur estate comfortable and well-appointed for our family event. The spacious kitchen and hot tub are the stars of the property as well as the scenic stream just behind the property. The pictures somewhat overstate the property's condition as it is a little worn and dingy after hard winter use. Please note that "sleeps 16-17" involves couches, floor mats, and pouty Gen Z'ers.

This could be a fantastic property! The home itself is lovely, but it needs some TLC (could be easily implemented). It is spacious and has a well-stocked kitchen.

This property is very spacious, our group was 10 people and plenty of room for all. If your group is larger, and the guest house for additional people. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prep and cook meals. Propane tank for the BBQ was full and house supplies were plentiful. It is a nice property, well run.

11 adults over age 50 college reunion. Great communication with host. He was very easy to reach and responded quickly. Big open spaces for a big group gathering. Kitchen was well stocked. Great outdoor space. We would go back.

The location of the property was ideal for us. Grocery store and restaurants in Hailey were just down the road. Great skinning and backcountry skiing right across the road. Big kitchen and loved having a heated garage with multiple washers and dryers for all our gear. I stayed for a month and utilized the garage to work on the snowmobiles and repair skis. The house is old and it was literally one issue after the next. One day one, water was steadily dripping in 3 of the bedrooms from a roof leak. While they did come shovel and address it after a phone call, it clearly was an ongoing issue based on the stains. The room smelled damp. While shoveling off the roof, they plugged the vent for the gas fireplace. Not a huge deal except they also sent pieces down the furnace exhaust, rendering that’s out of commission, for 2 weeks. We relied on temporary electric heaters, but the home still dropped to 60 degrees every morning. The other major issue was, while advertised as sleeping 16, only one person could shower at a time or not enough hot water, which is a bit of an issue after a day of skiing. A couple other things that could and should be repaired before renting again. One bedroom has a window that doesn’t open, one has one that doesn’t shut tight. If your sleeping in the loft, you have a direct view of the master bed through a double sided fireplace, very uncomfortable. The advertisement claims luxurious sheets and fine leather furnishings, they could not be found.

We had a group of 11 friends stay at the property for 3 nights and it was perfect- an easy drive from Sun Valley ski resort, a quiet private property where it felt very isolated, an excellent common area for hanging out as a group, and plenty of natural light throughout the house. Bring your eye masks if you want to sleep in, but overall we really enjoyed and would certainly entertain booking again.

The house and property are lovely. Family had a great trip including skiing, sledding, eating, and board games!

This home was perfect for our annual Family pre Christmas holiday. Our family is growing and there was so much open space to gather but also enough privacy. Tom was so accommodating and wonderful to work with. I would definitely recommend this home to others. We will be back next year!

Great space for family + pets gathering. Very convenient to town & Sun Valley. I would consider again just would like to see more focus & customer care in fixing items that are broken ie many of the window opening devices were stripped & would not open by themselves - as a chef especially troublesome in kitchen for ventilation since there’s no fan. Loved the light in the space, feeling of utmost privacy & tree setting. Overall a very good experience especially for the price.

The exterior of Zinc Spur Estate is wonderful, along with the large 2 car garage. The interior is very large & super cozy with 2 fireplaces, an amazing kitchen with cabinets & drawers labeled as to its contents which is very convenient. There are appliances galore, along with lots of silverware & utensils. The linens, comforters, pillows, heaters, bathroom towels, and a large walk in closet with games, puzzles, swim towels, children's toys is fabulous. The large hot tub outside, which was the perfect temperature, is fantastic. As rated above, the entire house is very, very clean. With that said, the VRBO listing is a bit confusing. There are 2 homes and 1 studio apt. on this property We thought we had rented the large house only. If I'd read the listing more carefully, I would have noticed that the house and studio apt. are combined as one rental. So we did not use the apt. as I didn't read carefully enough. User error for sure. The only things that didn't work were the TV and some electrical outlets in the kitchen. Overall a beautiful and enjoyable VRBO. Thank You!

We have stayed at this house for 3 years now and love it the location is great and the house is perfect for what we need. The ownership or management changed but they are just as good as the last ones. Already booked again for next year.

Property was private and pretty ideal for our group of 6 women. It is a short drive to either Hailey or Ketchum. Pros: Kitchen was large and well appointed (except there was no wine opener - a near catastrophe for this group) with 2 dishwashers and 2 sinks; bath towels were large and good quality; first aid kit was a nice touch and came in handy. Cons: Hot tub was clean, but not heating during our stay. Hardware was broken on a few windows so they could not be closed and latched. A couple of window screens were also bent which meant access for bugs if window was open. Ice maker in kitchen fridge was not working, but ice trays were provided. Overall the home was functional, but it's clear that some routine maintenance is needed. It also seemed odd that there was no outside dining table given the available space and pleasant outdoor setting.
