I wanted a hotel near the airport and this property looked good. It is located in a fishing village so there are plenty of restaurants featuring fish within a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Go down to the canal and walk along it. The hotel itself is small with only 4 rooms, but they all have a private bathroom and are basically comfortable. There is a free continental breakfast included and the hostess is a super nice lady. I arrived early as I was getting back from a cruise, and just wanted a place to sit while they made up my room for check in. They rushed to get my room ready and as it was raining, I sat in the office and read for a bit. There is a nice outdoor lounge area with chaise lounges and chairs. They also have free bicycles for use by hotel guests. There is not much immediately around this hotel, but walk for 15 minutes and you will find stores and restaurants. A cab to the airport is $20 Euros, flat rate. I would definitely stay here again and support a small local family business.

On the day of the worldwide IT system crash July 19-20, as we arrived in Rome from Firenze 3 hours later than planned, Sofia stayed in touch with us as we travelled by train, explaining the gate access code system, taxi options to the airport, how to order dinner locally, and talking us thru how to work the A/C controls. She ordered us a 7:00am cab to our airline drop-off, and was in the kitchen at 6:45am setting up the continental breakfast. Her suggestions and reassurances were a great stress reliever. Brava Sofia!!

The staff at Kalaso design were so helpful and courteous. The rooms were beautiful & clean. It is a short cab ride to/from the airport and easy to walk to nearby shops and reataurants. I highly recommend!

Stay was amazing, hosts were super helpful. Only thing was the shower head was no sturdy so when showering it was difficult, but other than that would highly recommend.

This is an absolute gem. We needed a one-night stay between flights in and out of Rome, and we are so happy we chose this place. For one thing, it's a very short drive from the airport. But the main reason we loved it so much is that it's such a charming place. Sofia and Nicolas are the most welcoming and warm hosts. The room was very modern, the bed very comfortable, and the entire place meticulously, almost impossibly, clean. In the morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast of freshly made croissants, orange juice, and amazing coffee. If all that weren’t enough, the guesthouse offers complimentary bicycles, so we went for a ride around the town of Fiumicino, which is a very nice little fishing town. Then we walked to the pier with its lots of restaurants and had a delicious meal in one of them. God, I wish all our travels and stays were always like this. But whenever we have another overnight layover in Rome airport, this is the place we will always go, again and again. Just can't thank Sofia and Nicolas enough.
