Absolutely loved my stay at Alma San Juan. The staff were extremely nice and helped in any way that they could!

Super chic! Beds were amazing. Restaurant super cool. Pool is tiny, but beautiful views and location was perfect.

Cons: poor noise insulation, inconvenient elevator access in stairwells, small & slow elevator speed, tiny windows in small rooms, no parking close by Walls and doors are NOT insulated for sound. Could hear adjoining room's entire phone conversation, word-for-word. The inside of the hotel is also open-air, meaning no closed hallways, and you can hear EVERYTHING happening on all 6-7 floors from inside your hotel room. Both elevators are also inside stairwells and not centrally located, which is a bit inconvenient and cramped to get into the elevator. The elevators themselves are also super small and take a really long time to go up and down. The rooms themselves are also quite small, and we only had 3 tiny windows towards the top of the ceiling so there's no sunlight, view, or ventilation. Pros: Staff were friendly, location is great, bed is comfortable, bathroom was decently sized. The adjoining floor-level restaurant is under construction, but ironically this didn't generate that much noise. The rooftop restaurant / bar has great views and food is great.

Great location! Awesome property with plenary of amenities. The staff were very pleasant and really helpful. Amazing restaurants and bars down the street within walking distance. Rooftop bar was spectacular.

We enjoyed our stay here. Very convenient if you’re looking to stay in town and shops, restaurants and many attractions around. I personally think if this is “adults only” some soundproof walls or doors could be handy 😂. Housekeeping was over and above. Everyday something new added into our room towels, soaps and the way they made our bed I was so happy coming into our clean room. The rooftop with the restaurant delicious!! So many combinations of foods that made you open your pallets so much more! Parking not so much if you’re lucky street parking but if not they recommended a parking garage roughly a 7-10 minute walk. Overall I definitely would come back but especially to Mar y Rosa!

The two ladies at check in on 7/25 around 10:30 pm were very kind and hospitable. They made our check in great! As well as the guy who worked overnight that night. This place is very clean and a fantastic location. I would definitely stay here again.

A spectacular hotel, excellent service, I had a special request for my stay, the Manager and Claudio responded to my request personally and I was able to surprise my partner. A beautiful hotel and a very professional service. Our second time visiting the hotel and we expecting next month return.

I love Alma Hotel! At first, I hesitated to stay here because there were no reviews, but it's a new hotel! The hotel is so chic and beautiful. The rooms are so clean and close to all the main attractions in Old San Juan. All the personal at the reception are so nice and helpful. I would definitely go back.

Very cute colonial hotel, nice rooftop and rooms

When I had checked into the property I went to my room to shower. As I am only in my underwear, one of the hotel staff walk into my room. I tried calling the front desk but no one answered. I went down myself and explained the situation and on top of that my deadbolt lock wasn’t lined up with the door frame so I was not able to safely lock my room. The gentleman at the front desk assured me they would right the situation. They sent someone up to fix the door and they said that they would comp 3 drinks for me at the hotel bar. Upon checking out I double checked if they were to comp me 3 drinks and they had not. I am not calling 5 days after I checked out only to find out they are only comp’ing 2 drinks and I just don’t have the patience to continue to call them when the situation should have been made right from the start. New hotel that is nice but they need to figure it out.

The hotel is located in an amazing spot in old San Juan where you can walk around and find restaurants and shops while also sight seeing some of the nice architecture and statues around. It has a beautiful restaurant and pool at the top with amazing views.

I arrived with great staff to greet me, clean and beautiful property overall. Restaurant had no space for me or my wife tried 3 times unsuccessfully. As a guest there should always be a spot for the guest staying ie a wait or some tables held for guests only. Didn’t like being told we are full with no timetable to possibly eat or enjoy a cocktail. Came back after a horrible meal elsewhere to try and get something again was told by the front desk there was space available then after several flights of stairs told by staff there at restaurant that they were closed. Was a bad experience with such a beautiful stay. Bitter sweet basically.

Beautiful hotel well centered in San Juan. Rooftop view is amazing. We had issues with the tv that will stay on all night but they fixed it right away. One thing you have to get used to is whatever noise is happening in the lobby you will hear it in your room. It's a great place and I will certainly be back and recommend.

I absolutely loved this place the staff is amazing, the hotel was clean in a safe area. Daniel & Salvador were the best!! Definitely know how to treat their guest and make them feel special!!

I chose this location because it seemed to be in the heart of Old San Juan and I liked the overall aesthetic of the hotel. Upon arriving, the hotel locks the front door unless you are a guest with a key pass which made us feel like we picked a safe choice. There are two elevators on the property and both are pretty small and don't accept more than 4 people which was fine. The elevator gave us a few problems on more than one occasion. We stayed on the 4th floor and sometimes had to take the stairs because the elevator was taking forever to come. There were also a few times where the elevator went up to the rooftop even though we pressed the ground floor. It then continued to stop at every floor after that which was very annoying so we decided to stop using the elevator halfway through the trip. The housekeeping staff did an amazing job to make sure our room was always clean & stocked. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of our housekeeper. There was an occasion where one of the staff members was blasting music from the employee's lounge at 7am & my partner had to knock and ask them to turn it down because it had woken us from our sleep. One thing we noticed about our room was that we could hear everything that happened on our floor. We unfortunately had a room in the corner which was located next to the maintenance room & employee's lounge so every time the doors open/closed it was very loud. Also, the hot water was inconsistent throughout the trip.

Overall it was a pleasant stay, a few minor issues. Still under construction so is a bit noisy , there is no insolation in rooms so you can hear everything coming from the halls didn’t bother us much because we’re heavy sleepers but something to think about, big gap under door so if you’re like me and like to sleep in complete darkness the brightness will definitely bother you. Small rooms but very nicely decorated, extremely clean which I definitely appreciate, great location right in Old San Juan but in a very safe semi quite area, walking distance to all the attractions in Old San Juan. Beautiful roof top/restaurant food was just ok, our bartender was so kind and friendly wish I remembered her name (loved her). Decent option when staying in Old San Juan.
