The staff was wonderful. Especially the team at The Bubbles Cafe! They remembered me at each meal, made me feel welcome and provided good service.

Stayed at this hotel about four years ago - then tired and in need of refurbishment. This time much improved. Food and service excellent.

The Vivanta is undergoing slow renovations so it’s not fair to make this a review of the hotel as a whole. It’s just the first room I was assigned was a throwback to the 1970s and with the mold in the bathroom attesting to the passing of decades. I was moved to another room which was somewhat more from our own time. But then the keycard reader kept locking me out so they had to reprogram it or something. Anyhow the positives: the restaurant and bar are very nice spaces with pretty good food and drink. You can walk straight out to Marine Drive walkway, which is nice being right by the sea (but also somewhat sad and smelly—I know this is supposed to be the positive part!). The water metro (ferries) is just five minutes away by foot so you can easily get to Fort Kochi for historical sightseeing and pretty good shopping and dining, it’s an amazing 6 rupees. Overall I had a relaxing time and the staff and public spaces helped with that.

I have been using this hotel for more than 10 years visiting two or three times a year. The hotel is undergoing a phased refurbishment. During this stay we had a problem with the room lock which got quickly replaced. The overall standard of service experienced was still maintained at its usual historic level.

The physical condition of the hotel has improved significantly since my last visit. Breakfast buffet is very good, dinner buffet in Bubble cafe could be better for the price

Stay was good. Nice location of hotel , but Hotel is very run down . The Manager at the reception was trying to convince us that the coffee shop is not open due to Covid conditions and they have not got a Chef yet . This was very absurd . We told them to leave Covid behind us and move forward.

Staff and service were always, and continue to be, excellent. The recent renovation of the hotel as part of its up-gradation to Vivanta is very well done.

Vivanta Ernakulam was outdated, the bathroom smelled like urine, there were cracks in the floor, the shower was broken and it was far from a luxury hotel. Every part of the hotel except the lobby required renovation. The breakfast buffet had old, dry stale food and everything was cold. There were also limited options. The surrounding area smelled like sewage so I do not suggest walking by the water. The staff was less than enthusiastic to help and honestly seemed snobby. I would never stay again and cannot believe we paid as much as we did for a hotel like this.

But the room was fine and had a lovely view and was in the section that has been newly renovated. But the swimming pool area had massive construction work that was noisy and made the use of the pool unpleasant. The hotel should have warned me when I booked the room but did not do so. And you cannot open the room windows which means no fresh air. That apart a good hotel, evidently transitioning to Vivanta. Ask for a room on the top two floors.
