Was misinformed on restaurant and bar being open, but did enjoy my stay. Price seemed high.

Tried to check in a little after 3 pm check in was at 3. They said my room was not ready yet they said they had a housekeeper call in and they were running behind. Yet there were four people behind the counter and I was the only customer that was there. You would think that if they were running behind one of the four behind the desk could have stepped up and helped out with the cleaning. I asked if every room was dirty because there was very few cars in the parking lot. The hotel is not convienent to anything. If you are going to this area stay in Houghton not Hancock. The hotel was clean but the location made it not ideal.

Always a great stay! The staff is friendly, the motel quiet and the breakfast wonderful. We will be back as long as our student is up at Michigan Tech. I recommend stepping outside at night and taking a picture of the bridge lit up with the lights of the city over the water...beautiful!

We had an issue with the TV and the staff was great! Rooms facing the water have been remodeled and are nice. This is an older hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Paige did a great job to resolve our issue. Hotel is across the water from Houghton.

Nice hotel on the water. Adjacent to a short city owned boardwalk on the water. Good mattresses, bedding & we slept well. We really loved the employee recommended restaurant list. Would stay here again.

Checked into our room on a Sunday. We noticed only one person working the front desk and he was also vacuuming the lobby. We went to our room and found out that the toilet wasn’t working. Information the only employee “front desk guy” and his response was do you want me to hit it with a hammer? Or I could move to a different room. I feel that having a functional toilet is very important so I opted to change rooms. Monday morning found there to be several people working and on checking out I was asked how my stay was so I felt inclined to inform this person about the toilet not working in the first room. Her response was that it is working just fine. Hmmm. Overall it was a good place to sleep but it’s old and there are no elevators to the second floor. Nothing fancy here and I’d probably look for a different place to stay next time.

Unfortunately was move in week at the University and hotel price was absolutely insane for the kind of hotel it was.

Extremely clean!!! The cleaning staff were even cleaning the exterior door handles on every guest room in the morning and the wiping down the handrails in the pool room. Decent amount of breakfast options, nothing fancy, but all the standard hotel fair. All of the staff we encountered were so friendly. Definitely a place we will stay again!
