It served its purpose which was sleeping. It was fine, very outdated which I knew before our stay. Stale, stagnant air upon arrival which is the first impression.

Bonus: full moon over the lake AND we unexpectedly got to see the Northern Lights!

I had the lakefront room on the second level, i love the old school style of the hotel, the view is incredible, you can see Mackinaw Island in the distance, the best part was leaving the curtains open and waking up from the sunrise over the lake

Bavarian Haus Lakefront Inn served us well for our first trip to the UP. For a prime autumn weekend, the prices were reasonable. The rooms are a bit dated but still comfortable. We love that every room has a lakeside patio or balcony! Within walking distance to a number of restaurants, we had a variety of food choices. It was easy access to Mackinac Island and the Mackinaw Bridge so exploring the area was easy. We would definitely consider staying here on a return visit.

Average hotel. A too firm bed and crummy pillows made for a rough night's sleep. Every room has a balcony with a view of the lake which is nice but one of the 2 plastic chairs was to busted up to sit in. The beachfront was nice, we had a small bonfire in the pit. Workout room had the worst old machines I have seen in a hotel workout room. It appeared that the machines were never cleaned.

Have stayed here many times. It’s a favorite in St Ignace. Rooms are always clean and staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Beautiful lake and island views.

Our stay was to be by the lake and we had a ground level room and it was very nice. We had chairs to set outside on and the room was nice and big and clean. The only thing I found disappointing was their breakfast, but all in all I would stay there again in a heart beat!!

Check in was a breeze, our view of the lake was beautiful, and we were within steps of a great restaurant for dinner.

The rooms are nice and updated. The rest of the hotel is still older. The breakfast is continental only and the room we ate in was FULL OF PEOPLE. It as hard to move around the crowded room and get food.

Stayed here for 2 nights while we went to the island. It’s a great location plus there’s a shuttle for the ferry. The first night the waves were very loud and it was quite relaxing to hear them. Seagulls (flying rats as the locals call them) are quite loud at times but there is a warning posted about this so if you are looking to sleep in with your patio door open and screen shut its probably not going to happen. The only complaint about the room was the patio screen was completely torn off on one side and the mini refrigerator door would not stay closed.

We were greeted upon arrival. The woman behind the desk was wonderful. Rooms definitely need updating, but it was a comfortable bed and clean sheets. All in all it was a good stay keep in mind if you’re going over to the island the hotel sells the tickets cheaper than the operator.

The property is right off the water with amazing morning sunrises over the water. The staff was excellent and friendly. I will stay again in the future.

Property was older but clean. The first night we were in a room below breakfast area and something like a compressor was going on and off all night, very nosy. They did move us when we requested a different room and it was much quieter. Nice being on the water, beautiful views. Convenient with shuttle service and discounted tickets to ferry for Mackinac Island.

Stayed here and did a day trip Mackinaw Island. They have the tickets at the front desk and the shuttle picked us up at the front door. Rooms are clean and not bad for an older place.
The front desk folks are local and really helpful when looking for good Pasties.
