Did not know hotel was self check in. Had no details actually sent to me with check in details so when we arrived we didn’t know what to do. There is no reception desk at all and only poorly labelled entrance doors as “Hotel Entrance” One was even written on a piece of paper and stuck on the door. Wifi didn’t work or reach the ocean view room?? And the hot water situation- if it’s not hot after running for 10mins you have to contact the number written on the sign in the wall in the bathroom. Room was as it looks in the photos and clean but just a few questionable things. They need to update their info about the hotel

We felt it was over price for what it is, its nice for couples and just sleeping that's all you need, close to everything in town, easy to access and free parking, no need for keys, they will send you a code for doors, so don't worry arriving late, there's a mobile number for after hours and they'll send you the code by SMS, The bed size too small for me, I'm 184cm, the bathroom will take 3 min to get hot ( for my wife did) for me it took longer, at least 7 min, air-conditioning good, TV good, little fridge and kettle good as well, if you don't have the rooms with view, it's not worth $280 a night. Maybe $200 they'll make an awesome place to go more often and they'll be busy over the whole year. But seriously the water situation should be better

The room was great and the location was perfect, the only issue was with check in. We hadn’t received info and there is no open reception. Unfortunately had to make 4 phone calls and the person taking the cal wasn’t on the premises so was unable to assist us. Check was at 2 and we finally accessed the room after 40 minutes.

Although we had an incredibly small room it was very clean and well appointed. The towels were lux soft and the bed was comfy , pillows were pretty good too . Location was excellent . The entry looked a bit ratty so we were pleasantly surprised once we got inside . Very expensive for the size of room .

The room itself had been mostly renovated and was in good condition and clean. But there were some annoying features - the TV needs replacing as didn't work properly, and the tiny coffee table was very unstable. The room was very small, even smaller than the pictures, and even though it was peak season it was overpriced. We booked late so didn't have a choice. The property itself is old and upstairs from a restaurant, up a tiny flight of stairs, which made getting bags up and down quite difficult And to cap things off the council decided it was a good time to do kerbside collection at 4.15am in the morning (Tuesday) and that ruined what had already been a poor nights sleep. On this Melbourne and great ocean road trip we stayed at 4 different properties and this was by far the most expensive and by far the worst.

Basic hotel to stay for the night along great ocean room. Nothing to shout out on. Prices a little high though. But room was clean, have many food options just stone throw away once coming down from the room. Had to do self check in, email instruction was only sent on the morning of check in, i had no time to check email as it was a long drive. Luckily I bought SIM card with calls to call them. Owner was helpful to provide the check in details over sms on the spot.

Was a little rough on the outside, however when you were in your room they were clean, cosy and warm.

Don’t be fouled by the outside appearance. Rooms are modern, clean and well equiped. Staff were very helpful.

Stayed here while on the great ocean road. Clean, comfortable and basic, all we needed for one night. Bathroom great. Bed comfortable. Quiet nights sleep. Good water view. Bang in the middle of town so easy to walk out for food. Car parking easy. Easy check in, key in the lockbox and check out drop the key back. Would stay again

Accommodations was clean and comfortable. Didn’t see staff but when returned to the room at the end of the day it had been very well serviced. All round good stay

The room was clean and everything else was good but the hot water kept going cold. The drainage in the shower wasn’t good and almost overflowed.

Very close to eateries, good location, free upgrade of bed, and staff and check-in process was efficient.

Comfortable with a view

It was excellent value for the price. Dont let the exterior fool you. We had 2 rooms and they were both excellent, air conditioned, secure, clean and well appointed. Would stay there again. Plenty of car parking behind property.

The stay at Blue Ocean was awesome and the host was very accommodative. They also owned the Chinese restaurant at the front of the property which taste fabulous, highly recommended!!!

Room newly renovated but no lift. Run water for 10 mins to get hot water. Easy self checkin/checkout.

The deluxe double room is totally different from what was shown on the booking.It is much smaller, no sofa, no views and total misrepresentation of the rooms offered during booking. There is no manned reception and guest self checkin. The telephone number provided does not pick up calls for enquiries

Very clean and tidy

Disappointed that the only view from this room was the car park. Horrible stagnant smell in bathroom.Problem with TV remote.One remote turned TV on and off ,another remote for volume and channel changing. Sticky tape holding remote together.This picture is not the room I received, very small room with no couch.

Right in the centre of town, across the road from the beach. Very convenient,. A little tired but has everything you need. A good choice.

Absolutely perfect Motel! Rooms were super clean and comfortable plus stylish as well. Could not fault anything, we arrived at 11:30pm after hours and they have simple system to collect keys if you need too after hours. Apollo Bay itself is also gods country, so much to do and enjoy in the town!

There was no hot water in my room to shower. The hotel was fully aware of this problem before I arrived as there was a note posted on the bathroom wall that said, run water for 10 minutes. If you don’t get hot water, contact staff. Why would you allow a guest to stay in a room without running hot water?

The rooms were quite the surprise. Upon walking up to the building it looked old and tired, but the rooms were a real surprise. Freshly updated bedroom and ensuite. Clean and comfortable. The only down side was we were up the front of the property and the restaurant next door was noisy when cleaning and shutting for the night. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice basic property. Great location right in the centre of town. Lots of free parking. Rooms are very basic and small but everything worked, beds were comfortable and the bathroom had been renovated. The hot water system is very wasteful in that it takes at least 5 minutes of running the water to finally get hot water - what a waste!!! Note that the rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator so if stairs are an issue for you, take note.

Clean, easy to use property for a short stay. We used as a stop on the Great Ocean Road.

Very comfortable and quiet

It’s def a motel - easy to check in and out. It’s something you don’t book if you want a bed with a view. The room was a great size, basic but good amenities, tv that has Netflix was nice and the staff was very friendly. The bathroom could be cleaner- it smelled slightly of urine and the toilet seat was stained with urine when we entered the room.
