I stayed for six nights and my experience was average. I definitely preferred the Freeland hostel.
Pros-Staff/service were exceptional, the bedding and sheets were clean and very comfortable, and I loved the check in process. Easy quick and self check in was definitely my favorite. It was very peaceful at night time and there was music playing here and there.
Cons-Zero events/gathering, cost was SUPER expensive compared to other hostels with more amenities, it wasn’t close to the city, Breakfast was appreciated but the hostel didn’t have vegan milk for the cereal (limited breakfast), I stayed in the flamingo room and the girls that stayed in my room were allowed, and there was a problem with the door knob during the day, multiple people were sick throughout my stay which made it feel unsafe, especially since I’m traveling full-time. All in all, it was a great place to sleep for one or two nights, but not for a whole week. I would have loved to meet travelers from across the world, but it was mainly young students living there permanently that worked there.

The beds are extremely loud and you’ll hear the person above/under you move everytime. Windows cant be completely closed or darkened so the traffic noise will be there and light will wake you up. Staff was friendly and took care of my luggage even tho I survived earlier. Plenty of bathrooms so that there are barely any waiting times. Nice people staying there. The location is okay. You can’t walk anywhere by feet under an hour but bus/train are within 10/15 minutes walk

The location is good for getting to different parts of the city but itself not walkable to anything. The common space is vey nice and they do offer breakfast of cereal and boiled eggs.

A relatively small hostel but kept very clean, the walls are surprisingly sound proof. I appreciate little things like how the door hinge and locks do not make loud noises when people come in, plenty of hangers and a full size mirror in the room. The bathrooms are spacious as well. I like how there is only one main dining table for everyone to eat at so you have the chance to meet and talk to everyone.
The only con is parking, but maybe it’s all of LA. The parking enforcer seems to come every day between 9:30-9:50am. I was one minute late and got a $63 parking ticket.

This Hostel is so professionally run. It is decorated impeccably. The common spaces the kitchen area the bathrooms all are clean neat and inviting. I would stay at The Steady any time any day for any length of time allowed. The staff were top notch good people.

As a physician, I never thought of staying in hostels. But I am on me journey. I want to spend my remains tire traveling and treating patients. I walked into the STEADY, tge clean white linen, hard wood floors, the interior design made like an upscale exclusive party with jazz, R&B,Ed Shearen softly in the background. Very nice staff. Felt like Home. The windows R beautiful as the Sun smiles at you. Spiritually The steady is a bit of compassion here on earth. I Dr. Nik HURT HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE STEADY WITHOUT RESERVATION😎🎻💜✅☺️

This place is a decent place to go if you need a place to lay your head. The staff is very warm and welcoming, as are the other guests. The facilities are decent, but the bathrooms (especially the showers) are a little lacking in cleanliness.

It was surprisingly ok, I had read the wonderful reviews and was very skeptical considering they were all positive. Someone had suggested to upgrade to those pods which I did. You'll get a great deal of privacy for your money. This a great choice for a short stay. However in this wake of Covid 19 I would recommend a different choices. Even though I was there for a day. It was clean all around I saw guests with masks, I didn't have one & felt pretty bad about that. Other than that, it was surprisingly pleasant. They have a great staff. If you can still remember how a stranger was nice 3 weeks later, it should count for something.
