Room size was nice and spacious.

There was a lot of noise from outside of the room, on the floor above. There wasn't a lot of options for breakfast apart from coffee, apple, banana, granola bars, nutrigrain bars, and muffin.

Comforter has blood stain (extremely gross!!) Reported to the staff and asked to be replaced. We left and came back after 9hrs, they did not replaced comforter. Had to ask multiple times for an extra pillow. There’s 6 of us and the pillow was only 5. Nobody came. We asked housekeeping staff ourselves for extra pillow. Housekeeping staff were all nice!

It was quiet, nicely renovated. My husband had just had surgery. we needed a comfortable, safe place to sleep for the night. Front desk upgraded our room to a king bed.

We have stayed with Sandman for years and have usually been quite happy with them. This time was horrible, we picked this location this time because PROS; it is a good location, has a good restaurant attached, always clean and quiet place to rest, everything is convenient, until this time. CONS ;No restaurant open the renovations are everywhere, that is all I could here during the day right outside the door to the room, they were using machinery to strip wall paper, and sanding, the light fixtures were taped off as well as the door numbers, the smell of paint was horrible. Nothing at all mentioned when I was looking to book a room, and upon check in nothing mentioned that the place was undergoing major renovations. We had travelled there for a surgery and had to stay 2 nights, (was not allowed to travel after surgery) I was supposed to be on bed rest for the days we were there. Unfortunately, this was an awful experience, especially when there is also no discount for the hotel being in a shambles !! Not until I mentioned that we HAD to spend 2 nights in Victoria for a surgery that we got a reduced rate of $26.96 a night (medical rate) It was still a few dollars shy of $400.00 So sorry to give a negative report like this when we always book Sandman throughout BC. Sadly we won't make this mistake again :(
