The desk clerk at least gave me a 50% refund, and he was non-confrontational about it.

Facilities and room in general disrepair. Had to pay in cash. I noticed dry grass all over floor upon entry in room. Son immediately noticed numerous holes in both comforters. Wife complained about smoke smell in non-smoking room. After using the restroom and giving a kid a shower, we found multiple stains on sheets which were quite wrinkled. We decided to pack up and leave, and as we did, there seemed to be some sort of illicit activity taking place next door. It goes without saying that we will never again book with Motel 6 anywhere. But we are also disappointed in Booking.com after years as loyal customers. The idea that the average rating for this establishment is defined as "pleasant" is absurd. Clearly someone is writing fake reviews. But changing $85 a night (discounted for Genius users!) is robbery! And giving this half-star accommodation two stars is very deceiving. We do not know if we can trust the rating system anymore. For now on, only 8.0+ for us if we book again this way. We do not have lofty expectations for lodging. All we want is a clean, safe place to sleep while we invest our time and money in experiences while we travel. This is the first accommodation in our lives that has had a negative effect on our travel experience, and it is certainly not the cheapest one we have had! Something has to give!

room smelled very strongly of marijuana. bedding had cigarette burn holes in it.

Bed existed. Bathroom facilities worked. Hard floors.

No shampoo/conditioner. Light in restroom did not work. Towels and linens smelled like cigarettes.

Workers was fixing on things outside at 6-7 am I'm the morning waking me up twice each day

Checked in card key wouldn't work, batteries in door key reader dead. Moved rooms and no lights in the bathroom, bulb burnt out fixture broken. Let front desk know during checkout and said they would look at it. All in all, we were just sleeping and leaving. So worked out for our needs but would of been nice to see in the bathroom.

I didn't like long black hair (women's) cuz mines short n brown, there was a roach in bathtub the second day, and same long black hair on 3 of the 4 white towels and the website said it was a smart TV but it wasn't I couldn't hook my tablet to the TV so it was not a smart TV!!!! I was not happy with my stay

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the room! for a motel (and I often stay in motels on the road) it was just amazingly clean, smelled good. Night and morning staff was very friendly, quickly settled in a convenient place. Thank you!

I went to Cincinnati to visit my son and the hotel was pretty close to my son’s apartment so it was very convenient for me
