Fantastic gardens and peaceful ambiance, service second to none, exceptional friendly English speaking staff who couldn't do enough for you, Pool was sparklingly clean and sun beds comfortable, well spaced out and always available A great place to relax and feel like you have had a very special break on what was a special occasion for us.

What an amazing surprise. A wonderful facility, amazing suite, outstanding staff. Out of nowhere, in the vicinity of everything, you enter a gate and you are in paradise. Genius architecture and design nearly hidden from the eye but wow. Bravo

It was paradise! The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The grounds are beautiful too.

Rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is amazing , and the garden and surroundings are perfect . having a place to park for free is also a big plus , and the shuttle to and from the city center is a very nice perk. Its such a quiet and relaxing place.

The only suggestion I would make would be to improve the room doors somehow . Some guests are not mindful of others and are a bit noisy when leaving and entering the room while shutting the doors.

The location and setting was very tranquil and relaxing. The gardens were stunning and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I honestly could not fault it.

- We’ve been traveling for a month in Morocco and Portugal. The bed in our suite was the worst of our trip, by far. We were staying for 5 nights so I asked if anything could be done. I got a gracious, “we’ll do our best”. their “best” is doing nothing. - The place is a not new so every time a toilet flushes, a shower is taken, a tub is drained… it is loud in the room. - The restaurant is wonderful for breakfast. I’d say the best of our trip. Dinner, however, is extremely overpriced and pretty average. There are many wonderful places to eat on Funchal and I’d advise eating dinner elsewhere.

Loved it !!! Had a wonderful stay. Loved the views of Funchal. Gorgeous place with stunning gardens. Breakfast was very good and diverse. Excellent Service from the staff.

The bed was a bit hard for my preference. Didn’t love the smell of the offered bathroom amenities.

Hotel was exceptional, the staff were very friendly and provided a warm welcome. A La Carte Breakfast available each day was inclusive, freshly prepared and well presented. Housekeeping Staff were very diligent, well presented. Sadly, the Pool and Jacuzzi were on the cool side but time of year to be expected. The gardens are just now coming into their own as spring is underway.

We generally liked it all, it's hillside position was a little problem, 20 minutes downhill to town with some aspects steep but there is a regular courtesy bus and taxi's are available downtown if you don't want the steep uphill return.

The grounds are just amazing: the gardens, the pool, the outdoor terrace! The restaurant was beautiful, food was delicious and service was great.

if I had to say something I would say the decor is a bit outdated.

Amazing hotel! We loved the breakfast in the morning, our large and beautiful hotel room, the pool, the sauna and the gardens! The staff was incredible friendly. Don‘t hesitate to book this hotel!!
