Great location just a mile from Keswick easily walkable, facilities and room were great, and service was top notch. All the extra little things were perfect, and went above and beyond to make your stay great for you personally. Breakfast was spot on every time. Highly recommend staying, comfortable and great value and atmosphere.

Lovely quiet location, a nice walk into Keswick. The walk was along a lovely scenic footpath through fields. The room was spotless and everything you need for a comfortable nights stay.

I was given a very good breakfast. It was in a village and although the road outside was rather busy, the birdsong was beautiful. The owner kindly spent some time drawing a map of footpaths for me which I needed to locate a church.

Before I arrived, there was no communication from the owners when I phoned a phone number they left for contacting them - and they never replied to messages - so it was only on arrival that I knew someone was at home to receive me. I found this quite worrying as they had stipulated that the money for the 3 days B and B would be automatically withdrawn from my account - as I had only had 24 hours to cancel it when I booked - which was 19 days before I arrived. Also no buses stopped at the village so I had long walks, although I had tried to contact them to ask about buses..

Powe House is one of the nicest places I've stayed at in the Lakes and is very well placed for a lot of local walks. I stayed in a single room, which was very clean and comfortable (and warm in November!). There was a lot of attention to detail with little extras in the room, and a great high-pressure shower to warm up after a walk in the cold! I had a great welcome from the owner, and although I can't personally rate the breakfast as I was leaving very early for walking, he even offered to put something together on the go for me. I was leaving a little to early to accept the kind offer but will definitely look to come back in warmer months to sample what I see is a top-notch breakfast. All in all, a great place to stay in a wonderful part of the world.

I literally cannot fault on anything. From a warm friendly welcome on entering, to a cosey/comfortable/warm room. Very quiet and easy to sleep! Travelling in from London this was a god send. Breakfast menu was amazing and varied. Hosts were very helpful and full of information on the local area.

The view from the room was amazing, the owners were helpful and the room was very comfortable and nicely furnished with everything that you need. The house itself is lovely. The location is excellent in terms of view, access to paths and derwentwater and the easy walk into keswick.

Breakfast was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. The location is very good if you're there for fell walking - several great walks can be done from Powe House without need for a car or bus. Newlands valley and Coledale both very accessible. If you want to go further afield there's a bus into Buttermere that you can pick up in Portinscale about 3 or 4 minutes walk from Powe House. Keswick is only about 1.5 miles away and easily reachable on foot. Highly recommend the Farmers Arms pub (about 150 metres from Powe House) for good beer and evening meals but you need to book in advance for meals

Has a non vegan breakfast was perfect with plenty of friendly assistance, the location was perfect for hiking close by mountains and a short walk in the evening to local pub farmers arms although not dining there was met with friendly hospitality with a short walk in the evening to Keswick town centre

What could of been better, not really a issue has expected on the old roads but lack of pavements where needed for passing vehicles.

The dining room was tastefully decorated, nice and light and airy. The food was freshly prepared and extremely tasty. The menu was adequate with a varied selection of food.

We liked everything really, the ambience of the place was wonderful, a lovely guest house in a very nice location.
