The Garden Suite was a beautiful oasis. It is a close walk to the beach and to stores. And a short drive to many adventures. The property is as described and felt safe, quiet & private. We would highly recommend. Thank you so much Sheffield’s!

Extremely well-kept guest suite very close to Kailua Beach and lots of shopping and restaurants. Quaint spot with access to lots of great outdoor destinations. The owners were very accessible and helpful on questions about the area.

Even though it's in a busy neighborhood, Sheffield House feels private because of all the tropical plants. There are trees, vines, and colorful potted plants everywhere. A fan in a shady kitchen window did a great job of hiding noise from the road and neighbors. The AC would have further hid the sounds but we never even turned it on. We were happy with the overhead fans.
The outdoor sitting area was a bit buggy so we ate in the charming indoor sitting area overlooking the patio. The kitchen was perfect for preparing breakfast or reheating take-out food from nearly Kailua town (and came stocked with some goodies.) The double bed and couch/bed were comfy and there was a nice dressing area. The big, bright shower room had plenty of hot water. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach - and a line to hang your towels.
And what a gorgeous beach! Only a 5 minute walk away. Check out the sunrises!
The hosts have created a inviting space with many attractive personal touches, and all the amenities you could need. Before I arrived, Rachel always answered my emails quickly. And Paul was a wonderful host during our stay. For a place in town, near the beach, this couldn't be beat!

My friends and I stayed at the Sheffield house for a week and had an amazing stay. The host were so helpful from the moment we got off the airplane to the moment we left. They also had great local recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend staying here!

The cottage and patio garden area are charming, very clean, private and well maintained with nice amenities. Check in was professional, and we enjoyed our stay overall. The unit is close to the very busy street so heavy traffic noise starting around 5:30 am, and into the evening, was our only negative.

The hosts were very kind and friendly. They make the check in process easy but were a little slow to respond to requests. The location is perfect as far as proximity to Kailua Town and the beach park - I walked everywhere! My biggest complaint was noise. I’m very familiar with the area and I know Kuulei is a busy road - however I did not know that it would still be used as part of a detour. It’s incredibly loud with cars and buses from early morning until about 8:30pm. The construction has an anticipated date of completion of February 2025. I was also looking forward to sweet bread, fruit, juice and coffee. I was completely surprised when it was Folgers, an apple, orange, 2 packages biscotti and 2 cans of Hawaiian Sun (flavored water). The fruit was soft and bruised. I think perhaps I was just unlucky? What I loved most was the landscaping - you can tell that they enjoy making it a tropical oasis.

Attending our granddaughter’s 1st birthday luau which is an important traditional family event in Hawaii. The Sheffield House garden cottage was the perfect fit for us. So welcoming and comfortable, we started referring to it as home by our second night. Paul and Rachel are so friendly and hospitable. Great recommendations on all things for the area. The stroll to the beach is awesome and is then topped by the beach itself. Magnificent. Wish we had more time to spend there. Hoping to return soon.

Absolutely wonderful. The place was clean, cozy and comfortable. And close to the beach, and also so many restaurants. Our host was warm and welcoming; it was such a beautiful place.

With the beach 2 blocks away and our own oasis with private lanais, our stay here could not have been better. The small kitchen made breakfast and morning tea a breeze. There were plenty of beds to choose from and both teens had their own space.
We used the mats, towels, beach chairs, and body boards provided with our unit. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return here on our next Kailua adventure. Thank you!

The place is perfect for a stay, long or short. Located near great public parks with spectacular beaches and short droves from many attractions. The unit was clean and comfortable with all the right amenities. There was some road noise but that was because ther was extra traffic from a temporary road construction. Free on-site parking was a big plus because that can be very expensive near Waikiki. Bed was comfortable. The shower is huge with lots of hot water. The entire unit is very private.Nothing negative to say about it and we stayed an entire week.

Charming garden accommodations short walk to the prettiest beaches on Oahu. Hosts are very helpful, providing info on local businesses and making the visit as pleasant as possible. We feel fortunate to have found it. Rentals on this side of the island are hard to find. This is a gem.

My wife and I stayed here in early March and loved it. We had stayed here before so we knew it had a great location with wonderful hosts. We found we had everything we needed for our stay including nice touches such as beach chairs , bamboo mats, and an umbrella. Close to the beach and very comfortable.

I can’t wait to go back to this charming home with an ideal location. If you truly want a local Hawaiian stay this is it! I especially enjoyed hearing the birds in the morning and the short 2-3 block walk to the beach each morning. Lots of wonderful restaurants in the neighborhood of Kailua and beautiful location. Husband and I were gifted our thanksgiving stay when we visited family nearby. It was a lovely guesthouse with privacy and all amenities you may need. Walking distance to the town of Kailua with restaurants and shopping. Beach very close by also. The best part was the indoor/outdoor bathroom. That was the talking point of the whole house.
Hostess communication was great. We were greeted with Aloha.

Lovely little cottage in a great location. We especially loved the private courtyard and the shower that opened to another private courtyard. We did notice a fair amount f road noise but got used to that after a couple of days. We would definitely come back here again.

Place was almost perfect! Only reason I might consider staying elsewhere is if you are on a romantic couples trip. There is another unit adjacent, and the walls and windows have next to zero insulation for noise. We not only heard every conversation, but also every cough, door and drawer opening and closing, zip of luggage, kitchen faucet, even the hum of the microwave. Hard to enjoy a carefree romantic couples getaway knowing the noise situation goes both ways LOL.
Keep in mind this is not a big, highly developed city. You will see ants here or there. Be responsible and do your part to discourage them from invading by immediately putting food away and emptying trash every night. We had a couple small geckos visit us, which we loved.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again with friends or a girls trip. So clean and location is hard to beat!

This property was so close to the beach! Nice set up and patio. The kitchen/dining room was pretty warm during the day, but cooled off nicely with the windows open at night. Bedroom had AC, which worked well. Loved the indoor/outdoor shower.

Everything was exactly as described and the Sheffields were warm and gracious -- and their home is clean and perfectly furnished with everything we needed - and perfectly located to the most amazing beaches!! This was the best deal in town and we would stay there over and over. (In fact, my kids want to move in!) Thank you for an amazing trip and all of the hospitality. (and for being so kind to my young kids and so nice to fix the window we broke!) We can't thank you enough and would give this more than 5 stars if we could!!

We had a great stay at the Sheffield house in Kailua! The unit was well appointed and very clean, the big shower is amazing! The space was private and quiet and checking in and out was smooth - the hosts were very accommodating and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay, the location is walkable to everything.

A Nice Change from Waikiki
We come to Oahu yearly and this year we decided to change things up and stay 5 days in Kailua - when usually we do day trips here. We really enjoyed our stay; property was perfect for our party of 3 (1 adult, 2 kids). Easy check in and upon arrival, was welcomed with yummy scones, local juice drinks, snack bars, and fruit. Property was as exactly described and we absolutely adored the indoor/outdoor bathroom. Highly recommend!

Great spot minus the gnats
We had a wonderful trip. The host lives onsite not exactly a private spot but it worked out for us. The place was clean and cute. Everything was what we expect in Kailua except the gnats. The gnats/ mosquitoes kept us from enjoying our Lanai/ patio. As we cleaned before we left, I noticed gnat spray under the sink. I wish I would've known it was there. Other than the gnats on patio and unable to dine outside our family had a wonderful time. Obviously the gnats aren't a reflection of the owner, just part of what you get with shade trees. The only thing that would make this place better would be a new box fan in kitchen and fan for bedroom. The kitchen fan was dated and showed use and didn't produce air. We will definitely be back.
