10/10 Marjorie is an excellent and friendly host. Everything was exactly like the listing. perfect location. 10 minute walk from train station or 1 stop on the metro. Nieuwmarket station literally steps from doorstep. All conveniences, restaurants and shops at the end of the street. Marjorie was available to help at all times. Highly recommend!!!

We had a wonderful stay. It was right in the heart of town. Walking distance to almost everything. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a great place to stay and very walkable to everything. The host was very helpful with suggestions. It does have steep steps just as described so no surprises there.

Property was just as described! Clean, well lit, sunshine filled. Beds were super comfortable, well appointed split level flat. Highly recommend. Stayed with my 23 year daughter, was perfect for the two of us. Train station only steps away out front door, very convenient!

We were looking for a 2 bedroom flat close enough to the centre of Amsterdam to be able to travel out to the nearby towns and villages. Marjorie's apartment was absolutely perfect! It's right next to the Nieuwmarkt Metro line, just one stop from Central Station, and easy to get out to pretty much anywhere in Amsterdam. The apartment itself was beautiful - really tasteful decoration (including a fascinating library of books!) and a well equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook for yourself. The beds were really comfortable and the air conditioning in the bedrooms really helped with the mini-heatwave we had the week we were there. Marjorie was a lovely host, welcoming us as we arrived, and always on hand if we needed anything - although we didn't need anything at all! As she says in the listing, the stairs up to the living area and bedrooms are steep, but even with two large and heavy cases, we didn't find this a problem at all. We really loved our stay in this apartment - it was perfect for trips to the museums, getting the train out to the beach at Sandvoort and a day trip to Utrecht, and very close to lovely restaurants, supermarkets and bars. The pizza at Il Sogno, right across the road from the flat, is superb! Overall, it was a perfect trip, and a lovely apartment. We'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to stay in this wonderful city!

The property was perfect for me and my 14 year old daughter. The stairs are steep so that might be an issue for some. Great landing spot for your travels!

The home has everything we needed in an ideal location to walk around Amsterdam. Majorie is an excellent host, prompt communications, and accommodating with our flight cancellation. Our main surprise was how short the ceiling is. I’m 5ft 2in and can touch the ceiling, perhaps that’s the style here. We enjoyed our stay and would rent again.

The apartment was exceptionally clean which always rates high on my list. The neighborhood is great with restaurants, grocery store, & markets within a couple blocks. The subway entrance is on the same block making transportation a breeze. The apartment is nice & roomy. We found the futon in the living room uncomfortable but you can put the large pillows on it to give some support. There were two of us, but there’s not enough living room seating if you had 4 people. The street-side bedroom has a lot of activity throughout the night until ~3am, so necessitates some good ear plugs. If you’re over 5’ tall, you’ll have to do a 3/4 squat to get out of bed as the walls are steeply angled. The beds are very comfortable however, so rather makes up for it. Be sure & ask the host to explain how to operate the washer/dryer, the stove & oven, & the lock on the front door. We struggled with all of these. There’s no manual for the stove & the one for the washer/dryer is not user-friendly. It took the machine 2 hours to wash & 2 hours to dry plus about 30 min to figure out how to use it; surely there are settings that would reduce those wash/dry times, so ask the host what those might be. It shrunk my jeans so tight I’ll have to go on a diet to wear them again, which isn’t really such a bad thing! Request a bigger towel for the bathroom floor as there’s no shower curtain & water goes everywhere. All in all, for the price, I think this apartment is a good choice for Amsterdam.
