Breakfast was good. Location was not bad but had to walk up hill to the ski field or village each day.
Foreign guests didn't follow the rules in the onsen.
4.3
onsen place was nice
linen wasn’t very good, staff not organised
4.3
Breakfast was good. Staff Yukako is super helpful with our change of plans and alternate arrangements with hotel and car rental. The chefs are super friendly and hotpot dinner one night was FABULOUS!
1. Booking-com put that this Lodge has family room with 2 bedrooms and a sitting area, but there wasn't. Good thing we got 2 rooms, with connecting door.
2. We stayed 5 nights, and the onsen was only acceptably hot for 1 of the days we used. Need to get the temperature up to par with standard onsens.

Great brekkys
Shuttles are a little unreliable
4.3
great location, clean, relaxing, excellent onsen

awesome location with mountain views, short walk to centre of village and the bus to get to the other ski fields- great staff

Staff were great, good clean venue with a relaxed atmosphere
4.3
Good location close to lifts, good breakfast, friendly and attentive people at the reception, shuttle to the train station and other ski resorts
Cool that it has inside and outside onsen, but it had a lot of little particles floating around inside
4.3
Location was great and the lodge offered bonus transportation. The manager went above and beyond to make us feel included and welcome. Post Covid and with very little lead time to get things ready all in all an excellent trip
4.3
Amazing location, delicious breakfast and cocktails, comfy beds and an onsen to fall into at the end of the day on the mountain.
Our room didn't get vacuumed throughout the stay. We were there for 11 nights, so it would have been nice at least once when they changed the room over.
4.3
Lovely open plan lodge. Great onsen - a must. Good dinners in & tasty cocktails. Free DIY laundry. Rooms were comfy & complete with mod cons. Staff were fabulous; warm, hospitable & fun.
4.3
The location was good and walkable from town in good weather. The outdoor bath was good and had a nice atmosphere. The nature of the restaurant and common room area was comfortable and encouraged interactions with other guests.
The management was fairly chaotic and the staff seemed to mainly be there for their own snow holiday rather than provide good customer service. There was inconsistent messaging about availability of driving services to and from ski school (a driver even told us off for inconveniencing him (!)), and my husband had to walk out one night in a blizzard to get food for our family as the lodge insisted they could not offer us anything to eat as we had not signed up for dinner that night. Just very inflexible, poor staff service and chaotically managed. Not the cleanest place ever either.

The breakfast buffet was excellent start to a ski morning - western style with lots of choice. The staff and guests were very friendly and made you feel comfortable. Easy access from train station and they will pick you up and drop you back. Very nice indoor and outdoor onsen overlooking the snow.
We were not in the same dorm room but not expected or a concern

The staff were absolutely amazing, special shout out to Doug and Yukiko-san for making sure that we settled in quickly and got where we needed to go easily. Everyone is super friendly and the onsen was amazing - don't miss out on a post pow soak!

The onsen was fantastic particularly at end of a long day's skiing
No fried eggs for breakfast

Good location, clean, wonderful food, and the inside and outside onsen are worth it alone! I haven’t even mentioned the SNOW!
That said, what made it the best holiday we’ve had in a very long time was the staff. They bring you in like family and make sure you are looked after in every way. I can’t express enough how good this place is. 6 stars.
nothing

Great value! Location was pretty convenient, a good 5+ minute walk from Akakura onsen ski area. The 4-men dorm was exactly what you would expect. I was lucky, the other 3 guests were very considerate. The lodge on a whole had a very casual/communal vibe, staff treat you like a friend (which is not necessarily a bad thing). They would chat and get to know you which was nice. Don’t expect the Ritz Carlton.
Cleanliness definitely can be better. Room was a little dusty. Onsen water also not the cleanest.

Doug and his team did a great job to make us feel home away from home. The property is close to the ski slopes (walking distance) and comes with a very nice common area and onsen. Breakfast is tasty and rich and we really enjoyed the special Christmas dinner. The bar serves nice craft beer and has a good selection of wines as well - the best is the great company though - staff and guests alike. Highly recommended!
4.3
Fabulous breakfast - needed after and before a good day of skiing with huge powder - The Flat white was excellent and worth the extra price
Small but perfect room and bathroom
Good onsen - perfect for after ski
Lounge area was really nice and a great surprise: lots of friendly people; very comfortable chairs
Friendly staff to pick-us up from and drive us to the station and to the ski area in the morning (walking back in evening is easy)
Nothing really

Excellent lodge that surpassed the high standards set by its sister lodge in Hakuba. Great staff, especially Mat who organised all our dinner reservations for the week. Location is a short walk away (in snowboard boots) away from closest resort lift and buses to other hills. Onsite outdoor onsen a great place to soak after a long day boarding. Comfortable room. Clothes washer onsite. I would come back anytime.
4.3
Comfortable accommodation with friendly staff. The staff gave us great restaurant recommendations and were just generally really helpful. We loved the breakfast and the little treats put out each day were a nice touch. Overall a great stay, thanks Morino Lodge :)
We had a room with a private bathroom which was very convenient but we could have used a towel for the floor as the shower leaked a little and floors got quite wet.
