Went on the first boat for the Whale Shark watching. Had to wake up 4am, but it’s so worth it. Become very crowded quickly so being on the first boat is so amazing!

Main reason to stay here is for the convenience to the whale sharks and the fact the staff go so incredibly out of their way to make sure you’re on the first boat of the day - they’re amazing for that really! We stayed in a double room/hut thing which was fine for the one night, mattress was pretty thin but it was clean, there was enough space and we had a mosquito net and a fan. Personally wouldn’t have wanted to stay any longer than we did but we didn’t need to. Shared bathroom was clean and all functioning well. 100000% stay here if you’re planning to do the whale sharks, you realise when you get off the boat how worth it it is being the first ones to go out.

The location is perfect for whale sharks. The staff take care of you and bring you right to them and make sure you are first in line, kind of feel like a celebrity 🤩 The room is very basic but does the job for one night.

No wifi available, which is stated in the description but would be a great addition. No soap in the bathroom to wash hands.

Mama Zaney was brilliant. Had us on the first boat out in the morning after having queued up on our behalf that morning. She also helped us get to the island, the waterfalls and our bus then up to Maolboal. Property is located right beside the whale sharks

The staffs were very accommodating and friendly. On the day of our whale shark watching they really assisted us and put us first in the long queue of people. So we have the best moments and best shots of the gigantic whales. 😊❤️🥰

Great location and staff to enable you to get to whale sharks first. We were on the second boat

So many mosquitos, room had loads of holes in the walls and roof, so noisy from chickens and dogs and other animals. We actually ended up booking another hotel for two nights so we could sleep. Cobwebs in the room not cleaned. And a cockroach. Shower was bad also. Personally would stay somewhere else and go there and book the whale shark tour.

Very friendly staff, right by the beach. The bed was comfy and the bungalows are cute. Simple and unfussy.

The hostel is situated in the small village where you swim with the whale sharks. it is literally just 100 m from shore so we were the first ones out on the boat

The place is difficult to find, nothing particular interesting in the area, room was simple with poor beds and the aircon didn’t work. not very clean in general. I only recommend to stay here 1 night to swim with the whale sharks in the morning

It was very basic

The owner (Nana), she was super nice. The ferry to Bohol wasn't going the next day from Oslob, so she waited with us and arranged us a bus to go to another ferry. The price is really cheap if you consider we were staying right at the Tan-awan beach, so we were the first boat to go to swim with whale sharks. It was clean 😊

Location is perfect. We stay for a night for whale sharks. We got the first queue in the morning. The owners are so helpful. They help us manage the activity and guide us to moalboal. It was a good experience.

Water isn't flush well. And there are so noise all night like dogs, rooster and music

Super close to the whale shark tour! No lie, it’s literally next door. I would recommend to book through the hostel itself because they can get you in right away.

We can definitely recommend this hostel. The location is perfect (just 50 meters to the starting point for the whale shark tours! If you book the tour from the hostel you are one of the first boats on the water), very lovely and helpful owners who organize everything for you. Spacious bungalows. All in all just perfect! Thanks, we enjoyed our stay!

This is perfect for 1 or 2 nights to do the whale shark watching. Lovely staff very accommodating too! Rooms are standard but it's not a problem... you will be up at 5am anyway! Staff wait in line for you from 3am, you arrive at 5am and you're on the first boat out in the morning... its much better as it can get very busy! Couldn't recommend this place more!

Sharky Hostel is the best place to stay at if you want to do the whale shark tour. The owners get up at 4am to wait in line to reserve a spot for you and wake you up at 5am when it is time to do the tour. They make sure to be the first boat in the water, which is what you want, since it gets super crowded later. On top of this “Nana” the 70 year old owner is very sweet and extremely helpful with ferry bookings, organizing taxis and giving recommendations. This hostel is very basi but has everything you need. I would always stay there again!

We were first out to the whale sharks in the morning almost no wait. Which was awesome. And the host is lovely and so sweet. Very cheap accommodation.

The power and water I think goes out pretty regularly. Shower first thing in the morning.

Friendly staff. The hostel was next to the whale shark diving/snorkeling place, which was our main purpose to visit. Staff arranged for us to be on the first boat out at 6am. Dorm room we were in was clean and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom clean as well.

Simple stay when doing the whaleshark snorkeling or diving in Oslob. Very kind and helpful people. They arranged the whaleshark snorkeling, transfers and showed us a nice restaurant in the area.

Shared bathrooms could be cleaner and some loud dogs in the area.

Very nice couple as hosts. They help you with everything. We paid 550 Pesos to take the first boat out at 5 a.m to go snorkeling with the whale sharks. Dorms and bathroom are clean. You can refill your water and there is a pool table.
