Wonderful experience, the staff were lovley, the food was great, everything was sparkling clean, will definitely stay again.

Access to the rooms

This was a small country pub with some basic accommodation. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I had a single room with a comfortable bed. Shower/toilet were independent but clean and private. Keys were provided for entrance to fenced car park, hotel door and room. I didn't have meals there, so can't comment on that.

Given that this was not a luxury city hotel, I was very satisfied with my stay.

Easy to find in the small town of Kaponga and not even 20mn drive to the hikes in the mountains. The bar and restaurant downstairs was nice, lots of choices of beers on tap, wine and spirits. Also a couple of pool tables and a pokei room at the back. I had a pizza and it was devine ! The outside area gives an amazing view of the Mount Taranaki The bed was super comfy and the room was clean. The only down side would be the curtains that let a tiny bit of light getting in. The toilets and bathroom super clean and all new ! Water pressure and temperature was great and it was so nice to find an hotel so tidy! The staff was lovely! Lovely people, lovely place, and lovely stay. I will be back.

I liked the location as it served my purpose of being close to Mount Taranaki. This is the first time I have stayed at a venue out of the city, and it was a different kind of experience. The location had a mysterious aura, and I was very close to nature, which I revel in. The hotel was manned by a husband and wife, who were so caring and kind. They even dropped me at the airport ( 70km away) without charging me a cent, which is something remarkable in the modern world, which is mostly driven by money today.

Nice, cosy and warm! I stayed during a bad storm and found it great for what I needed.

A couple of lights were out in one of the bathrooms and one shower had great water pressure, while the other didn't!

Kaponga Hotel greatly exceeded our expectations. We booked a room spontaneously as we were tired from our roadtrip. We were surprised by the lovely newly renovated rooms, the cleanliness of all facilities, the strong wifi, strong water pressure and hot shower, and the comfort of the bed. We greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again in the future.

The location was close to the mountain which is why we chose this property. The room was good enough with a comfy bed and an oil heater which was needed during our cold May night.

The shared lounge had to drapes so was very cold. There was no tea spoons, milk or tea bags for breakfast in the shared kitchen. There was only one toilet and one shower which were taken by another guest when we were trying to get ready to leave the next day.

The hotel was located in the middle of town, About 20 minutes from Manaia. the restaurant food was delicious, Well prepared & quickly served. the staff were very friendly and Accommodating

Our room wasn't cleaned or set up by the time we arrived late in the afternoon, Neither was either of the Two shared bathrooms. The staff member quickly changed our room for One that had been cleaned and set up.
