We had the best week in York. Joann is a wonderful host and very knowledgeable of the area. The house was clean and fully stocked with everything you need and all the amenities of home. Central A/C and washer and dryer were welcomed. The backyard is gorgeous and the quiet street great for kids. So much to do in the area and we hope to return next summer! Thank you Joann!

We really enjoyed our week at York staying on this property. The house is spacious, clean, updated and provided our group of 6 with everything we needed. Joanne was super welcoming and accommodating throughout the week, always quick with a response when needed (.......which was infrequent). The one downside for our group was the walk to the beach/town. It's less than a 15 minute walk - very manageable - but it included time spent on busy roads, including a stretch w/out sidewalks and a busy intersection w/out a crosswalk and/or lights. Certainly no fault of the property owner, but learning of this walk changed our plans to allow our teen, tween and their friends to walk to/from the house alone and have some independence. Outside of that, the week was perfect and I'd recommend this house to groups of all ages.

The house was great! It was super clean and really well stocked with everything that we could need. The walk to Short Sands was really easy and quick (about 10 min). The owner was super responsive and available as needed. The house had plenty of space and multiple seating areas for our family. We loved the screened in porch. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Joanne made us feel welcome and at home, she has a lovely abode! We had the honors of being the first to fire her new Solo Stove Yukon and relax in the Adirondack Chairs mesmerized by the beautiful flames while toasting marshmallows for S’mores. The location of her home is beautiful, quiet, safe for little ones as it’s on a dead end road, and convenient as we were 3-5 minutes from the village of York Beach, Long & Short Sands beaches, the zoo, restaurants, shopping…. Joanne had wonderful suggestions for all that we wanted to do and explore. Our vacation was fun, relaxing and absolutely amazing and we look forward to our next visit!!!

Great accommodations 10 minute walk to beach great owner

We rented this property for a 15-night stay and it wildly exceeded our expectations. First, the photos don't do it justice: it's a brand-new space, immaculately kept. I thought it might be kitschy with all the red in the photos, but it was well-decorated and everything was fresh and clean. Two sitting porches -- one off the main (king) bedroom on the first floor, and another screened-in space where we spent a ton of time right off of the primary living area. I saw some critiques of the size of the living room, but for part of our trip there were 9 people staying there and it was more than adequate -- kids hung out in the HUGE bedrooms upstairs quite a bit, and/or the adults stayed on the screen porch. Joanne (the host) provides plenty of supplies (detergent, paper towels, etc.), a wagon for the beach, and pretty much every large appliance you could think of. The home is in a great location -- you can walk to downtown York as well as two beaches, and it's a quick car ride to other sights in Maine. Joanne is very friendly and available for questions etc. Highly recommend!

We have vacationed in York Beach for many years but this was our first time staying at this property. Everyone loved the “red house!” The bedrooms were large and comfortable.. The kitchen area was well equipped and spacious. The outdoor area provided plenty of space for the grandchildren to play and enjoy watching cranes and deer! The entire family is looking forward to returning to this property again

House was spotless and everything as described. Great room for parking, everything worked as should, WiFi had great reception around the home. Close enough to walk to the beach but far enough away to not be in the center of all the traffic during peak season. Quiet dead end blacktop road. Would definitely recommend it and plan on coming back!

We had a great stay! The house is clean, well equipped, updated, and quiet! It is less than a 10 minute walk to Short Sands and the York Animal Kingdom. The owner was friendly and prompt and provided great guidance about the area. A couple of suggestions to make it even better for our family would be to make the master bed at minimum a queen (it is a full) and to get more seating in the living room that is a bit cushier. We would def book again!

Nice easy walk to both short and long sands beach. House is modern and updated with nice appliances and bathrooms. Only minor issue is that I would have preferred a larger bed in the master bedroom (bed was a full size - queen would have been more comfortable). Owner was really warm and friendly and made check in and out very easy.

The house was new and beautiful! Bedrooms were great, Our only complaints would be the living room was small and lacking more than a couch to sit on. Maybe the basement will be finished in the future? Location was awesome, walking distance to downtown York. Would definitely recommend!

This property was amazing. Nice and clean, a short walk to the beach. The property manager was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. We had so much fun this weekend. Would recommend to families as well as friend getaways. Short Sands beach is really nice with a good night life.

The property is beautiful! The house has all updated appliances, the beds are comfortable, very clean! Joanne answered any questions promptly. You are a half mile walk to downtown and beach at Short Sands. We drove to beach and parking was perfect at the beach. It was $15 for the day. My family loved it! I would book this again!

While our daughter was at camp in Boston, we decided to head to Maine, 9 of us! The house was spacious, very clean and great location. Joanne provided everything we could possibly need! Perfect place to spend time together. We loved the deck and the pines. We explored the area and as far north as Boothbay, some of our party took a side two day trip to Bar Harbor. We fell in love with Maine and will definitely be back! Joanne is a wonderful host!

We could walk to the beach, York’s animal kingdom and arcades as well as ice cream etc. and had enough room for all of my family to have fun and enjoy our stay.

I can't recommend staying in this house enough, it's exactly as described and such a beautiful property!!!!! We had a very large group who traveled from California and this house had everything you could possibly need and more. Joanne was awesome and really cared that our stay was comfortable. So close to the beach and all the sightseeing we wanted to do, our vacation was wonderful thanks to Joanne and her house!!!
