Beautiful and quiet stay in the centre of the old town, panoramic views of the city! Well refurbished building and everything was new and in good condition. Amazing breakfast with perfect service.

Die Lage ist Traumhaft schön mit Aussicht auf Bergamo. Das Gebäude mit dem wunderschönen gepflegten Garten, Romantik pur. Die Zimmer gross und gemütlich mit sehr bequemem Bett. Dass man das Frühstück im Voraus bestellen kann, fanden wir super denn so wird Food Waste möglichst vermieden aussert die Gäste bestellen mehr als sie essen mögen! Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Ein kleiner Minuspunkt aus meiner Sicht war das Abendessen. Es ist zwar sehr hochstehend und wunderschön zubereitet aber ein bisschen zu fest nouvelle Cuisine. Es grenzte zum Teil an noch knapp geniessbar wenn ich ehrlich bin. Ich hatte unter anderem Kartoffeln die aussahen wie Spaghetti waren aber noch fast roh wirklich nur knapp geniessbar. Manchmal wäre weniger mehr. Aber im wunderschönen Garten zu sitzen ,hat alles wett gemacht.

Very clean and beautiful rooms. Really interesting location at the top of the hill overlooking the town. If weather was good, it would have been amazing.

Tough to get back to at night, no taxis or Ubers. Totally uphill for 15-20 minutes.

Fabulous location in the old town. Staff super friendly. Staff were amazing. Breakfast on the terrace was amazing. The rooms, house, garden areas, terrace areas absolutely outstanding. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We had an incredibly delicious breakfast. Rarely experienced anything like this. Nice comfortable room with good beds. Very friendly hotel staff. Garage with elevator available.

We regretted not being able to dine on the hotel's beautiful terrace in the evening. This was one of our reasons for choosing this hotel. Instead we could eat in the restaurant down the street where the terrace was fully booked and we ended up inside.

Beautiful views, kind and attentive staff, great breakfast food

We had a little trouble working the a/c in our room. It turned on, but we couldn’t figure out how to control the temperature or keep the fan consistent. Otherwise, it was perfect!

View is absolutely stunning. You cannot compare it to any other view - simply the best on offer in the city.

Would have loved some softer lighting options, we found the lighting quite bright and harsh on the eyes at night. Would have loved a softer towels/robe.

Wow we were so pleased with our stay at Relais San Vigilio al Castello! It is an absolutely unique hotel by the castle at the very top of old town of Bergamo. Breathtaking views from the rooms, and from their terraces and patio. Clear views of northern Italy — the alps, and views to Milan in the south east — accompany Breakfast, drinks, dinner. Restaurant on property is excellent, had outstanding meal. Rooms was unique but very comfortable with our own private balcony. Staff was very helpful at all times.

Driving directions were hard to follow — it was a bit hard to find because GPS doesn’t work and we had a small map on our phones — recommend printing out the map and reviewing that carefully before trying to drive it.

The hotel exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for a couple. The room was large, cool, and well designed (plenty of space for luggage). The bathroom was also generous and very modern, with derssing gowns and slippers provided. The highlight though was the gardens which were stunning and we spent several hours relaxing and reading in various spots enjoying the landscaping and the views over Bergamo! The staff were incredibly very friendly and attentive, it was easy to order drinks or snacks on the terrace, or in the garden area with them. We also ate twice at the restaurant, which was excellent and very reaonably priced. We would return here in a heartbeat!

Difficult to find something not to like! If being very nitpicky, I would say the bed could be a little bigger (as the room was very large), and it would be nice to have a proper coffee machine in the room.

Beautiful place with amazing views. They had a lovely restaurant on site for a special occasion dinner. Breakfast was just amazing, they only have a few rooms so the service is just perfect. One of the best places I have been so far. The staff were incredibly helpful. My partner is vegan and they even made a vegan cake for breakfast. Just perfect.

A little difficult to find and sat nav leaving was a little scary - but well worth it - fabulous breakfasts

The views over the city were stunning and staying up in this part of town above the Citia Alta felt very exclusive. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and hospitable and the breakfast was the best we had after a month of travelling in Europe.

We had an extraordinary pleasant stay for a weekend. The staff was very nice and the view from the breakfast area was incredible! (breakfast was perfect too). The room was big, clean and comfortable. The hotel has its own very fine restaurant and there are another restaurant and a pizzeria 2 minutes away. The Funicolare is just around the corner and is easy access to Citta Alta (cute old town of Bergamo). Hope to return one day.
