Only five blocks from Main Street and close to Marktplatz, this private limestone rock home is a romantic haven for two or an ideal getaway for two couples traveling together.
There is plenty of room for you and your guests to sip your morning coffee, afternoon tea or evening cocktail while relaxing on the long front porch that offers a wicker love seat and antique bed frame converted to a love seat, as well as two rocking chairs.
Inside the living room you will find many comforts of home. Relax on the cushioned antique wood loveseat and two wing-backed chairs, which are placed to enjoy enhanced HD cable programming on the 43-inch flat screen television and HD DVD player, which sit on an antique medicine cabinet. A wood-burning stove framed by limestone rock adds warmth to the living room on a cozy winter evening. High pitch beadboard ceilings, wood floors and an array of tasteful antiques create a special aura combining the old with the new. Unique copper shutters on the windows filter the hill country morning's light.
The full kitchen is open to the living room and is fully equipped. The stainless steel cookware and full array of utensils and dinnerware allow those epicurean-minded souls the tools to be creative. The décor in the kitchen is a decorator's delight with the tile countertops and pine cabinets. An antique table seats four. Enjoy the arrow-backed oak bar stools while sitting at the bar that opens into the kitchen from the living room. Crepe Myrtle Cottage was perfect for 4 long time women friends for a weekend getaway! The neighborhood was quiet and within easy driving distance to the restaurants we enjoy. The cottage was appointed with everything we needed.

This adorable cottage had everything we needed for a great stay in Fredericksburg. The kitchen was well equipped, and had lots of snacks and breakfast items. The beds were comfortable and the layout was perfect for two couples, with each bedroom having its own bathroom. Even bath robes were provided! We felt really pampered. The outside area with the patio and seating area was nice also. We will definitely be back.

We had such a wonderful time staying in this precious house! There were four of us (two moms and two college daughters) and the house was absolutely perfect for relaxing, cooking and just hanging out. Super close (walking distance) to Main Street but tucked away a couple of blocks away from the hustle and bustle. We are definitely coming back to this location!
PS - beds are super comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked for cooking.

I stayed here withbw of my friends for a long weekend. The house was conveniently located and within walking distance to main street. The cottage was very clean and nicely prepared for guests with touches like a snack basket and an itinerary of live music in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Inconvenient to have to get a key from mgmt instead of a lock box. The lady in office was not warm and welcoming . Maybe because it was the end of day and she as ready to go home. The house was great.

It is a cute little house just a couple of blocks from shopping and restaurants. Very clean and well stocked. Would highly recommend and would stay here again in the future.

Very cozy B&B - enjoyed it with the exception of the tiny toilet in the back bedroom. It was so low to the floor it was difficult for a 71 year old to navigate! There were 3 of us and I took this room. Other friends with me were 74 & 75. We enjoyed the stay but maybe a new toilet is warranted? Thank you!!!

I stayed here with my mother, my cousing and my aunt. We had a little girls weekend get-away. The house is so charming and located just a couple of blocks from Main Street. I especially appreciated the little extras like a water filter pitcher and snacks. I would definitely stay here again!

This was a cute cottage and very clean. I stayed with my mom, sister and niece (all 18+) and we all were happy with our choice to stay here. Everything we needed was provided. I would stay here again and would recommend to friends as well.

Absolutely beautiful home! It went way beyond my expectations. I truly can't say enough about it! The décor was gorgeous - what you would expect in a home of that era but with modern amenities plus. The neighborhood was so quiet it was startling.
It did take me a bit of time to find where all the light switches were to the lights. Also, it was not a problem for me, but there is only one small parking space. If that would be a problem for someone else, I would contact the Gästehaus for information on parking. It is a nice little house that will not disappoint and at a decent price.

Crepe Myrtle cottage is beautiful inside and out! If you like antiques, you will be in heaven. The comfortable beds and the upholstered chairs are all adorned with beautiful old fashioned style fabrics. Beautiful pictures and nic-nacks in every room as well as a coocoo clock. A fully furnished kitchen and a grill in the back yard makes it easy to stay home and cook.

Perfect house for us to rejuvenate and reconnect. Crepe Myrtle House is charming, warm and inviting. The two bedrooms with attached bath were perfect for each of us to have our 'space'. Will definitely be back!

The 3 of us have stayed at Crepe Myrtle for years now. We are 4 old college roommates from Southwest Texas State and first met in the Fall of 1968. We have remained very close for 50 years now. Two of us live in New Braunfels, I live in Arlington, TX and the 4th lady lives outside of Fredericksburg. We love the coziness of the house and its great location. However, this last stay we did have a couple of issues. I shared this information with your office when we checked out on Oct 31 so I will not repeat it here. It also seems to us that the house yard, gardens, etc are not maintained quite as well as they have been in the past. Some of the linens are getting pretty ragged looking at the edges. As long as we have been coming, the same linens have been used. It's been at least 6 to 8 years for the 3 of us to stay in this little house and I'm sure it is filled most of the time. So those linens are getting used quite a lot. None of these issues are prohibitive but you might want to look further into them. Thank you!

The Crepe Myrtle Cottage is absolutely 100% delightful. The owners have done an outstanding job updating the home but preserving the cozy German feel. The one thing we could not get over during our stay was how well appointed the cottage is. The owners have really thought of every little thing you could need or might want. The cottage was REMARKABLY clean, and a guest had just left hours before! Check in was so easy and professional, and check out was just as simple. There was no long to do list for check out, which just helped our vacation spirit extend just a little longer! The rooms are very large, and having two bathrooms en-suite was absolutely wonderful! We were just blown away by the quality and care of this wonderful little cottage, and we can not WAIT to return! Thank you so much, Gastehaus Schmidt, and thank you Kristin for a lovely home to rest in!

The Crepe Myrtle Cottage was the perfect place for my colleague and I to focus on writing our book. The cottage is a short walk to downtown, which was nice for writing breaks and we loved all sweet little touches. We hope to return in the future.

We stayed at the Crepe Myrtle cottage over the New Years holiday & thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The cottage is comfy & cozy as one would expect. The potbelly stove "was so delightful" & kept us warm & toasty, even thought the weather outside was truly "frightful". We will definitely stay here next time we come to Fredericksburg.
