About this cottage rental
Nestled in Pennsylvania, this charming cottage for $160 per night is a great choice for your next trip. This completely restored home in Lancaster County’s Amish country is the perfect retreat from life’s worries. Situated on an acre along country roads surrounded by farmland you can enjoy from the back porch or patio area with wood burning fire pit. Our cottage offers modern conveniences with touches of vintage style, like stunning, original hardwood floors, exposed beams and restored fireplace. You can relax in the quiet, cozy home with a fully-equipped kitchen, including a stove, oven, microwave, full-size refrigerator, baking dishes, and pots and pans, or drive just a few minutes to many attractions and restaurants. We are near Sight and Sound Theatres, American Music Theatre, Strasburg Rail Road, Dutch Wonderland, Rockvale and Tanger Outlets, and Lancaster City markets and galleries. We are near the Village of Intercourse, Kitchen Kettle Village, and many other Amish country attractions. The charming home features two bedrooms with queen beds, one bath, and a washer and dryer. In the upstairs open area there is full size bed. We provide necessities like linens and towels. Wi-Fi, cable television in the living room, and games are offered for your enjoyment. The hosts are out of sight, but nearby and easy to reach.

Was a great getaway for my wife and I near some of our favorite shopping sites in the Lancaster area. Was a windy cold weekend so wasn't able to enjoy the fire pit outside but the nice farm setting would've been very enjoyable in the evenings.

The owners are also super nice and helpful. We went there for a quiet and cozy time during Christmas. It was wonderful, we will be back for sure.

This was the most gorgeous place to stay. I loved the original architecture of this refurbished cabin and the attention to detail with the furnishing. The area was very scenicand peaceful and it was close to lots of local attractions. Will definitely want to book again in the future for a longer stay.

First of all, you couldn’t ask for better hosts! They were available to answer questions as soon as I asked. For example, the VRBO site was giving me issues & not allowing me any communication. Deb managed to text me, so that we could check in where a lovely surprise of freshly baked cookies & homemade pork sausages awaited us! Everything was just as described on the website, but in person, it was even better if that’s possible. Plus, the hosts thought of everything a person might need to stay at their little cottage. I especially appreciated looking through their scrapbook showing step-by-step how they renovated the cottage to keep as much of its original building as possible.
It was so relaxing to listen to the clippetty-clopping of the Amish buggies & to listen to all the farm animals in the evenings & mornings.

Such a cozy cottage. We loved being out in the county with the beautiful views. The cottage was very ckean with attention given to detail. There were
homemade cookies waiting for us as well as fresh sausage. All cooking utensils were provided. Having access to a washing machine was a help.
The only difficulty we had were the mattresses. This may be a matter of preference but for us they were not comfortable.

This was a beautiful cottage in a bucolic setting. The house was better in person and close to everything we wanted to do. The fire pit was even ready to light (which we did). Definitely a place I would book again! Very special and memorable.

Excellent idyllic cottage with all the conveniences. Quiet country setting, just minutes from Strasburg. We enjoyed day trips into town to take in the sights and a quiet evening around a fire in the firepit making mountain pies and enjoying the sounds of crickets and passing buggies. This was the perfect place to celebrate a quiet 55th birthday.

We wanted to get away for a few days and this house was just perfect. Surrounded by farmland with horse and buggies passing by, the neighborhood was quiet, beautiful, and friendly. The house was wonderful, very clean, very comfortable and was a short drive to all attractions in the area. I would highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

My friends and I have stayed in many rental properties and this place is definitely at the top of our list. It was charming, super clean and comfortable. The owners left special touches for our stay and their freshly made sausage was delicious! Sitting outside watching the Amish buggies go by and relaxing at night by the fire pit made everything extra special. Thank you to the owners for their kindness in sharing such a special, obviously lovingly restored home.

Our family of four very much enjoyed our stay. The hosts provided a clean house with all the necessities, and were readily available when contacted. The surrounding land is beautiful. We loved that there was a little book showing the process of renovating the house and it was fun to admire the little details. It was a serene location- no close neighbors. A nice change from city living!

When I first walked in the door I was just so happy! It just gets better and better as you walk through. The views outside are beautiful. The house is in pristine condition. Deb and John did an amazing job renovating this property and keeping the original charm of the cottage. Fresh baked cookies and sausages add a heartfelt personal touch. Close to many attractions! We will be back again and now my parents want to book for a weekend too! Thank you for such a peaceful weekend.

We loved this property! The location was perfect. We enjoyed relaxing outside & watching the Amish farmer cultivating his tobacco farm with his mules on one side of us and the modern day farm baling hay on the other. The house was spectacular. Quite the labor of love went into restoring it to its current condition. We just adored the wood stove in the bedroom, the fireplace, the floor boards upstairs where you could see between the boards. And when my husband saw the hay rake, he had many stories to tell about using one as a little boy. We were both raised on our grandparents farms, so some of the things were a trip down memory lane. Such a gem! Thank you for opening your home to us! We loved every second!

We had a wonderful stay at John & Deb's house. It was nicely decorated, comfortable and cozy with everything one would need for a four day stay. The house is located in a great location on a quiet street around amish farms. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return again.

My best friend and I have each been taking care of a sick family member. We needed a weekend getaway to simply recharge ourselves. This place was perfect. Our first night there we ran and picked up food. We sat by the firepit and ate, enjoying the sunshine, fresh air, calling red winged blackbird, Amish passing in buggies and on bikes, and beautiful scenery. Our stay was exactly what we needed. The hosts were great and left us cookies and breakfast sausages. We spent both evenings sitting in the cute living area, reading, chatting, and unwinding. It was close to everything and we cant wait to come back with our husbands.

The house is very nice. Beautiful selection of old and new. They did a great job using antique and reclaimed wood for everything imaginable. Loved our stay. Hope to go back this summer for a long weekend.

In one word it was cosy. Owners thought of everything one might need during their stay. It was a beautiful home with for me a great location. I wanted to do some astrophotography and the location was great with vast open skies and no light pollution to deal with. Looking forward to staying again.

This was at least our fourth visit to this same property, which in itself should speak volumes. It is an AMAZING place to escape from reality. Clean and well kept, but so much charm in the house itself. Great firepit and land to walk on. Close to so many attractions that suit everyone's needs. We will be back and you should go, too! (also, the owners are the sweetest, leaving fresh cookies and breakfast sausage for each visit!)
