Home has 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom with shower/tub combo. Home has a new comfy couch and gorgeous new flooring as well as a SMART TV plus Blu-Ray player (No cable/satellite) in the living area. There is also wireless internet access available for guest use.
The dining nook features a collapsible and portable wooden table and 4 chairs to maximize the space when not in use while allowing you to choose your dining scenery. Just past the pony wall, you will find a smaller yet efficient and fully stocked kitchen. The kitchen sink overlooks the front yard while the electric stove neighbors a door to the exterior side yard with a propane grill and patio furniture (Seasonal amenity). The kitchen also houses a full-sized washer and dryer.
Just down the hall on the right, you will find a Lodgepole king bed with a new dreamy Memory Foam mattress in the large Primary bedroom. To the left, is another Lodgepole bed but this one holds a full bed on the bottom and a twin-sized bed on top. You will also find plenty of extra blankets in this bedroom's closet.
Grab a novel from the bookcase and cozy up on the couch or take a short walk into downtown Kings Beach where you'll find shops, restaurants, recreation areas, and the largest sandy beach on Tahoe's North Shore. The home also has a single car garage where you can keep your vehicle away from the elements.

The house was basic. Clean. No coffee filters for the coffee pot - that was odd. Bring flat filters. The king size bed in the main room was easily one of the most comfortable mattresses we’ve had! Location is great. About a 10 minute walk to the town/beach. Unfortunately Kings Beach town and neighborhood are showing a bit of “wear.”

Delapetated shanty that is not actually fenced. Urine stains on toilet as if not actually cleaned after last guest left. There are multiple loose tiles in the bathroom that are a tripping hazard and the bathroom also has an ant infestation. The front and backyards have 3-4 foot tall weeds growing everywhere. They did not actually send me the key code for the front door and had to call to get in touch with someone numerous times. The door also only unlocks about 50% of the time and was very frustrating to use. There was dog poop and pee in the garage when we first arrived. The house has no a/c and only one tiny fan to use and the house gets very hot in the afternoon, almost like a sauna. The only saving grace of the property was the location 4 blocks from the beach. Would not stay here again or recommend it, but if it's a last-resort option, you'd probably be able to manage for a few days.

Location and ease of access were great. The property itself is iffy. We walked into very dirty and stained carpet. I even got the vacuum out to try to clean the carpet so I felt a little better about my son playing on the floor with his cars. A tack strip for the carpet is exposed going into the smaller bedroom and I covered it with an extra rug to protect our feet. There is a large amount of mold and staining around most of the windows and especially in the smaller bedroom. Toward the end of our visit I flipped the switch to turn on the light in the smaller bedroom and it started smoking and buzzing. This was very concerning. My mother had to sleep sideways in the large bed because the mattress is so worn she was sleeping in a groove otherwise. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash storage had previously fallen and were broken. I went to use the microwave and found leftover chicken from the previous people. The roof had not been shoveled and I was really concerned about the snow and ice falling on my truck. It seemed like the cleaners or owners could take some more time.

The property was functional and was fine for a few days for our family of 4. The bedrooms and bathroom were comfortable and clean. The bunk bed was a little wobbly. The kitchen was fine, but without a dishwasher, I pulled out several pots that were not totally clean. The dishes were not dried before being put in the cabinet and I pulled out dishes to eat on that were dripping wet. There were sheets in the dryer and the washing machine when we arrived - they were extras that I guess the cleaning company did not finish putting away. The carpet in the front room had a lot of stains and the couch in the front room was super small. I appreciated the app that provided the check-in and out information. I did try to email and call the rental company with questions and did not get a response. The location was great; 15 minutes from Northstar and within walking distance to the lake. Overall our experience was good but I will not stay here again.

Comfortable cabin, adequate room for a small family. The street noise was pretty loud, unfortunately. The backyard is not completely fenced, which is important if you have a dog.

Nice area
We love to stay in cabin and enjoyed ski and snowboard nearby Northstar resorts ski. All so good for bedrooms, kitchen and shower for us. We put recycles of water bottles it is not sure of garbages. You could post of recycled of garbages. Thanks

Rough but Redeamable
Clunky getting into the property- no after hours assistance had me moments from sleeping in my truck- property management company communicated, followed up and discounted the rate for the mistake.
The cabin is great- definitly well worn and old but well appointed and clean. Septic back up on the last day.. property management again stepped up to deal however it meant no shower for me on my final day there.

Lovely little cabin
My wife, mother-in-law, infant daughter and puppy all stayed at this cabin. It is a wonderful rustic place. The location is great and we hiked from the cabin and also walked to nice restaurants, bars and shops.
I will say that the backyard isn't fully fenced in, but that was okay with our dog because weren't going to let him go running wild in the snow anyway.

Everything is as advertised. The rental company was great! and easy to talk to which made the experience pleasant. The place is a bit on the old side but does its job. There's a bit of old house smell. Pretty space-y for what it is. The furnitures are great. The kitchen can use a bit of update. Especially the cooking utensil and stove. But again , they are all working fine and we didn't have any issue. Bathroom is great since i think that's been renovated compare to the rest of the place

Small house near Kings Beach
We loved that the house was within walking distance of Kings Beach. It had everything we needed including plenty of towels and washer/dryer. You don’t get much cross-ventilation from the windows but small fans are provided.

My son, his wife and our 19. Month old grandson stayed at Racoon Shanty in Kings Beach. The pictures online did not reflect the space. The kitchen is small and cramped and the cabinets don’t close. The entire cabin is very dark, good for sleeping but also dark during the day. The carpet is not clean and they have covered it with a rug that doesn’t fit. This makes it difficult to get in and out of the door. There are some child safety issues. There is a large wall unit that is not attached to the wall. Also the blinds have long cords, these would be easy Walmart fixes. Although there is a yard, it is not fenced as advertised and there is a unsightly garbage pile next door. A gallon of paint and some T:LC would make this a very convenient and comfortable cabin.

Nothing fancy, but prime location and everything needed for a great stay.
This property is about 5 blocks from the Lake and 5 blocks from mountain biking and hiking trails. It is prime location for active vacationers! An outdoor deck would have been perfect, but chairs in the yard make do. The game selection is outstanding and the garage was perfect for the toys we brought!

Poorly maintained, management company service was very disappointing
The only bathroom in the house had a shower that was not working. The bathmat and towels had not been washed after the last occupant. It took 2 days for the management company to schedule a plumber, who had to replace the shower head and a few valves. There was a heavy storm so the delay was understandable. What was very disappointing was the attitude of the manager we spoke to at Century 21: she was defensive, seemed to blame the plumbing problem on us ("you must have turned off the heat", unlikely in 25deg weather!) and never offered an apology or an accommodation for the condition of the house. Our request for a late checkout was immediately denied of course. I did not bother to even suggest some form of monetary compensation, but I did tell the folks at Century 21 that I would be writing this up.
There were some other minor inconveniences that were not mentioned in the VRBO description. Garage has no automatic door opener. No cable/local TV. No dishwasher. On the plus side, the washer/dryer is conveniently located and the bedrooms are a good size with large closets.

Awesome cozy place
It was as expected and much better. Rooms where very well kept and amenities were sufficient for our cozy stay in wintery Tahoe. Just a quarter mile from Big Blue Tahoe and very close to modern amenities as well. Diamond Peak ski area was just 20mins away.
A great place, would love to go back.

We had a great summer vacation. The rental home was close to shops, the lake, and groceries, everything was within walking distance. Everything in the home was clean and ready to go. Went for a week – left after 72 hours
Over the course of 72 hours we had the plumber twice, the gas utility man and an electrician all visit during our vacation. This was obviously pretty disruptive and not conducive to relaxing. We paid to stay in a house with no gas, no hot water and problematic electrical outlets. It's pretty surprising it was rented out in this condition in the first place. But even beyond those larger issues there were several smaller ones. This house is hot and extremely difficult to cool down. There is no outside space beyond an empty dirt yard with timber and nails in a pile. We slept with windows open and no covers even though it was 70 outside. Several of the windows didn't open and the others were difficult to get open and dirty. The house was dark and some of the appliances didn't work (but that could be related to the electrical problems).
There are some cute aspects to this cabin. Someone bought a lot of kitsch vintage kitchen items. The beds were newer and comfortable. These things would have been charming had the bones of the place been solid and functional.
Our family has rented cabins in Kings Beach for the last 15 years, and we have had many at this price point so know what to expect. The myriad problems and decrepitude of this cabin do not warrant any price point. To be fair, we brought these issues to the management and they did make some restitution. But we still won't be back.
