THIS GORGEOUS BEACH DUPLEX IS PET-FRIENDLY - AND IN BEAUTIFUL SHAPE. You will not believe such a beautiful house allows your pet, but we find that our guests at A Breath of Fresh Aire have been very conscientious about their four legged family members.

We also got peaceful naps to the sound of the surf. We had such a good time watching our humans uncoil and become fun companions that we did not want it to end. Imagine shrimp on the grill (on the driveway as per Fire Marshall rules), kids on the beach, and a cold beverage in your hand as you sit on the deck above the dunes. The wide beach invites you to stay all day long.
A Breath of Fresh Aire is BEACH FRONT. It is not a piano lot, or a view between two houses, or in a condominium complex. It is a real OCEANFRONT house. Sit on the beach or sit on a marvelous deck just a few feet away from the crashing waves.
Do you like to bike or run? There is a bike shoulder on the main road the entire way from the north to south. The island is like 22 miles long, so you can get a good work out.
You can even bike for fun (like I do). Recently I rode my bike to the south end, and the smell of Jasmin and ocean air was unbelievable. I stopped on the far south point of the island and walked around the beach on the undeveloped point. I then rode back to Topsail Beach city hall and said hi to the ladies who worked there. (They had kindly sent me an invitation to pay real estate tax in their city even though my house is not in their city. I graciously declined :-) but they were very pleasant!) I then rode back to Surf City and promptly bought an ice cream cone at DQ just to make sure I hadn't burnt off too many calories, then leisurely rode back to the beach house.
Believe me, this place is fun.
And I haven't even told you about Giligan's, just before the bridge on the mainland side and it's hilarious karaoke nights, or about Sears Landing and its award winning clam chowder made with sherry, or Indigo Marsh - the best restaurant overlooking the sound that you will ever find. Oh, and how about the fresh fish market (I mean right off the boat) behind the Crab Pot where you can get shrimp, flounder, shark or whatever they have been catching and take it back and grill it.
Or you can play 18 holes at Coastal Carolina's only four-star golf course, North Shore Golf and Ocean Club (as per Golf Digest). Perhaps you would like to deep sea or surf fish...or maybe spend an hour with your son or daughter fishing off the sound dock just steps from your beachfront villa. And did we mention riding jet skis on the nearby sound?

This house was the perfect place to spend our 2 weeks at the most beautiful beach on the east coast. We love Topsail for so many reasons and the location of this house was great for anyone who wants to just get away and forget the real world for awhile.

The location was fantastic. Eight steps down to the sand, oceanfront. At high tide you could throw a rock from the deck to the ocean with a good arm. The duplex was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The best thing to me was the communication and response from the owner. Steve was great at providing us information and making himself available. Great stay.

This was a very nice home and just what we needed and expected. We were a little disappointed no dolphins showed up for us to see but the ocean was beautiful. Being so close and watching the high and low tides was great. I would definitely recommend and hope to return in the future.

We had a great time at âBreath of Fresh Air. The house was extremely clean, kitchen was well stocked and the views of the beach are breathtaking. Every bedroom has a view and the balcony outside the master bedroom overlooking the beach is beautiful. We enjoyed seeing sunrises every day from our room. Overall, our family enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

We stayed at Breath of Fresh Air the week of Christmas through NewYear. The owner was extremely helpful with questions and also gave us several suggestions on place in the area to eat.
We enjoyed a relaxing stay and spent days watching the ocean from the double-decker porch as well as the comfortable living room. The home is just as advertised only steps away from the beach. We enjoyed walking the beach, finding shark teeth and seeing many dolphin.
We explored and walked the three piers in the area, as well as a boardwalk in the park at Surf City. Would definitely consider a return visit.

Nice home right on the beach. Nightly rate was less than others so we gave it a try. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the home, however it does lack upgrades that would make it a much more enjoyable stay (kitchen and bath countertops, showers, bath sink vanities very short, etc.). Laminate floors downstairs are nice, carpet upstairs could use an upgrade to laminate floors.
Initial communication with the property manager was good, however messages went unreturned once we made payment. We had a simple request to add a day to the front or back of the trip, tried more than once to make contact, never received a reply.
Again, if you are on a tight budget this place will work just fine. If you are looking for a more upscale experience, consider another option.

You canât get any closer to the beach!! We loved being able to walk off the deck and be in the sand. It is so convenient. We also enjoyed biking into Surf City and the safe walking/biking lanes. The beach is not very crowded which is a nice change from other places weâve been and yet we were only a short drive from Surf City for livelier evenings. We grilled one evening and the home was well equipped with all the kitchen items we needed for dinner for 6. This is a very nice home for a family vacation.

We loved our stay! It was very clean. The only draw backs were that there was no furniture on the upper deck off of the bedrooms and the mattresses were a bit lumpy and/or the twin bed was short for our tall adult kids. We saw dolphins multiple days and typically a couple times a day. Lovely!

This is our fourth time to stay at this property and the location is the best. Close to Surf City and other area's and beach in this area is quiet this time of year. Love to be able to walk out the door and be on the beach. My husband loves to surf fish while there and in this location can do it daily. Access to fresh seafood with a short drive. Home is well equipped for cooking. Host is very accessible and accomodating. Will not be our last vacation there. Deb

Absolutely amazing place! Comfortable place with amazing views. We were amazed at how close to the beach it is. Literally, steps away from it. The deck is great. Super spacious. The dogs loved it, especially the younger one who was fascinated by all the beach action. Steven is very responsive, even during his own vacation. The area is quiet and just a short drive from the action at Surf City. We are already planning our trip for next year. This will be our yearly tradition.
