You will love this place. Stay here

Owner is amazing and welcomes you to his garden and house. Part of an ngo that does all sorts of interesting stuff. Wish I could have stayed longer.

one thing i like about the place is its near to all the attractions in almaty

Your overall experience was positive because the staff is friendly, helpful, and proficient in English. Services like open kitchen facilities allowed you to invite friends from other hostels, creating a friendly environment with Indian backpackers that made it feel like home.

Constant noise permeating into the rooms can be quite bothersome. On my final day I encountered a water clog issue in the washroom possibly caused by flushed products from other hostlers.

It was wonderful experience living in wanderlust. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We also booked a tour with them. Very nice people.

Wonderlust is wonderful

My first time experience of stay at hostel. The hostel is right in the centre of city near to many attractions: The Memorial of Glory.Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, Ascension Cathedral and Ykhlas Museum of Folk Musical Instruments are just 300 meters away. It is about 900 meters from metro station. They have good kitchen area with all necessary appliances and utensils. There is a convenience store just outside the hostel and money exchange is about 200 meters distance. The hostel wifi is very powerful.

The double bed room size is too small hardly 9sq meters

Cosy hostel in great location

Really nice hostel for international travellers! The hostel is small and cosy, location could not be better in Almaty. Lovely quiet street, easy walk everywhere. Nice split level layout, easy to meet other travellers, great outside area. I highly recommend this hostel

Aircon in lounge area, not in the dorms, so it gets a bit hot It wasn't a problem for me

The staff is friendly and helpful.

The room is every every small. It is difficult to open my 20 inch suitcase in the room. No enough space. No air conditioner, no fans in the room in hot summer when it is over 38 degrees. Because it is extremely hot, we have to open the window when sleeping, but It is really noisy at midnight. Too many cars pass by and too many crazy people outside. I almost can’t fall asleep for three nights. That is really a bad experience. The drains of the bathrooms are clogged.

I stayed a bit more than one week in this very well located hostel. The day manager is the key to this place. He is so friendly and try his best to accommodate every guest. I have met nice guests. On the opposite of some previous reviews I had no issues with bathrooms as long as you not shower during peak hours (like everywhere).

- The place should be cleaned more often for the price we pay - The place does not offer tea or coffee (??? how is that possible in a hostel??) - The night manager overbooked the room I was suppose to stay in and it was difficult to find an arrangement. For the same price I had to go to a more crowded mixed dorm instead of the female dorm I had booked days before. Next day I was moved back to female dorm. - Don’t use their travel agencies. Your ticket is actually sold to another agency and you pay booking fee for nothing when you could directly book with this other agency.

Nothing special about this stay. It's a cheap place to stay, not great and not bad either

Everything is kinda old and squeaky, I arrived at night and it was impossible not to wake up my roommates (you also kinda have to slam the door to close it) I left early in the morning with the intention to come back before the check out time to have some rest, but i was told they want to collect my bedsheets already so I gave up on the idea

An Average Hostel in a Great Location.

The hostel is a no-frills place that is just about fine for a short stay. The location though is very good. The day shift manager was pleasant.

The bed springs could be felt easily and it was uncomfortable. The yard was constantly filled with cigarette smoke from guests smoking.

A nice, comfortable, safe place

An excellent location, very good value for money and friendly, helpful staff. Lots of travellers willing to offer tips and advice for day trips/tours from Almaty so perfect as a solo traveller looking to meet people.

Close to Arasan Bathhouse

The location is great, close to Arasan Bathhouse, which is why I booked this place. The beds in the female dorm are really comfy but a bit shaky. There's a hangout area and a kitchen with all the necessary supplies. The staff speaks English.

Great location and comfortable

Hosts were nice and accommodation. Excellent location and bed was super comfortable. Very clean and nice relaxation room with comfy couches.

Downstairs bathroom didn’t have lock for shower, just shower curtain. Shower temperature often went boiling all of a sudden, quite dangerous.

Best in Almaty

Great staff, comfortable hostel, clean restrooms, cozy beds. Location can't be better. It is close to the park, Staray ploshad', club's street and supermarket, It is just 5 meters away. It is a very calm place, i would like to come back and stay there for a while. There are even Ping-pong, and an open terrace where people can chat or nap , free lockers and hot shower, fast WiFi, what else do you need)🤩

A little bit dirty kitchen, but it was mostly because of people that stayed there
