perfect stay in a lovely home with wonderful hosts - so relaxing

fabulous hosts and gorgeous home in idyllic rural setting, wide views and wonderful spa. couple of nice places to dine within 20 mins drive.

nothing! you do need a car and will have to plan ahead for meals.

A stunning place to stay!

This is a magical spot, with the loveliest hosts you will ever meet! My room looked out onto the water, and the outdoor space was a great spot to sit reading in the sun, before relaxing in the hot tub as the sun went down. Chris and Steak are such lovely people, and we chatted for ages over breakfast. The house and gardens are so beautiful, this was a most relaxing place to stay. Highly recommend!

Perfect!

Chris and Steak are wonderful hosts and amazing people. They went to every effort to look after us and make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Chris even supplied some petrol when we were worried we wouldn't make it to the nearest petrol station. On top of that the house is lovely and the views are amazing.

Probably the best overnight experience in years.

What a beautiful house. The welcome was warm with good communication for our arrival. The interior is all decorated to a certain aesthetic which is calm and peaceful and rather luxurious. Our room had the most amazing view which we woke up to over the paddock with horses to the ocean beyond. We were fortunate enough to be the only guests in the house so we were able to treat it much like a home. We ate dinner (brought) on the patio and spent hours wondering around the stunning gardens. Good quality linen and a comfy bed were a bonus.

We were lucky to have the house all to ourselves. So in the morning I could go and make a cup of coffee in the main kitchen in my pajamas. There is nothing provided in the room at all. No kettle, mugs or coffee. Had there been guests, I would have had to dress and interact with others for my morning java. On a personal note - we like bathmats. Stepping out of a bath or shower on to a bare floor is less than our ideal but no bathmats were to be found.

The accommodation was very clean and beautiful, the hosts was very warm and kind, and they gave me great favor and consideration. I had a very comfortable and happy time here and this accommodation and hosts will not forget for a long time in my travel life.

Perfect place for a relaxing quiet stay and a base to explore around the region.

Extremely quiet and peaceful location to just get away and relax. A lovely large family house, with lovely gardens, easy parking and a large kitchen area to prepare and enjoy a meal.

The view is amazing, recommend you plan to watch sunset. If you are interested in history this is next to the parihaka settlement. It's a fair way out from New Plymouth. The owners are lovely. If you are gona book a room..you want the room with the veranda to enjoy the view. The lack of an operational bedroom door handle was iffy...and the shared bathroom should have a latch to the adjoining bedroom door so they cant just walk in. Finish the room decoration..blue masking tape up etc. Need a proper number on the road too

Pleasant surrounding and peaceful environment

I paid for a room with private bathroom, on arrival I was informed it was not available, it was the owners own room, as I had already paid and no other accommodation, I had to accept room with shared bathroom, on my 2nd night the owners moved from their room to let another couple use the room with private bathroom, this has left a sour taste after a pleasant time with the owners

Absolute comfort and style overlooking rose gardens, farm and ocean views. Stunning and inviting!!!

Wow, we loved our stay in the Goodin Country Garden. Although we did not meet them personally, Chris and Steak made us feel really at home and texted us to make sure all was perfect for our stay and it was. Thankyou Chris and Steak for our stay in your beautiful property. The lovely big bedroom overlooking the farm and rose gardens, with the horses greeting your view each morning and the ocean in the distance with a wonderful ensuite bathroom was just beautiful. The kitchen was used by the guests only and it was large and very accommodating with all the appliances at hand and some. We had the most wonderful, comfortable, peaceful and happy stay and you made us feel very spoilt from afar. Thankyou so very much for a memorable stay. Cheers. Cecily and John
