Lovely, comfy stay/

The house is very cosy with a very nice living room. The owner, Mario, loves his bits and pieces scattered about the house, and it works. The kitchen is big with a nice view out of the huge window. He provided milk, butter, juice, eggs, bread, muffins, Weetbix, fruit and jam for a good hearty breakfast. It is quiet and in a nice area.

Great house up on the Bluff

Great house, lots of character, in a lovely part of Napier, high up on the Bluff. A fifteen minute walk down to the centre of Napier. The owner turned on the heaters and soft lighting before we came. Very thoughtful.

Magnificent dream stay at The Lighthouse

Mario is the perfect host. His property has many exemplary qualities, the most magnificent views. I’ve travelled extensively internationally and I can assure you that you won’t find a better place to stay. Plenty of healthy food was in the fridge, beautiful soft towels, the rooms were creative, eclectic and homely. Close to town on the splendid and iconic Bluff above Napier. I didn’t want to leave! Thankyou Mario!

Wish we had stayed longer

Beautifully appointed house with lots of personal touches, making one instantly feel at home in its cozy atmosphere. Great views of the bay from the large terrace. Walking distance from town centre.

Charming and quiet

Unusual flat with artful decoration, quet location with lots of colorful details

Were expecting the breakfast to be provided but were expected to cook it ourselves. All ingredients such as bread eggs and honey were provided but no cooket

Thank you for a great stay in Napier

Comfortable and full of character, we were really happy with our stay. The host was very helpful and gave us some great recommendations. The apartment has lots of art to discover and it was quiet at night so we slept really well. We had stayed in lots of very modern apartments on this trip so we loved the personality and charm of this place. There was plenty to eat for breakfast. We liked being close to Bluff lookout and a short drive down the hill into town.

Uncomfortable beds DIY breakfast very limited, that needs to be made clear when booking Bathroom really in need of renovation, Location is ok but there is really no view of the sea just the bowling club Overall very over priced

What a magical place, so full of character and charm, so comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay at this gem of a place, everything was just right. Highly recommended if you're looking for accommodation in Napier with genuine personality.

It’s not actually a lighthouse 😞 stay was nice enough but very expensive for what it was.

comfy bed, good linen, hot shower, large kitchen

was told not to use the oven? when you book a place with a kitchen you expect to be able to use the oven. breakfast in bed and breakfast was food left in the fridge for you to make yourself. however didn’t like the fact there was jars, butter and milk already opened sand used by others. lightbulb was missing in one bedroom. couldn’t work out how to turn off the outside light. owner did not reply to my text message.

Great place to base yourself on a visit to Hawkes Bay

Homely, quirky and full of interesting art work and artefacts. Well appointed kitchen and good range of breakfast materials. Mario is friendly accomodating host.

Just the shower. Needs a larger square curtain or cubicle sides to make more comfortable to use.
