Good views, poor service.

The room was clean and had a nice view. The breakfast and packed lunch was also good.

The internet very rarely worked. That became even more of an issue because of how isolated the hotel is. While it is 2km out of the city, it is not near any other restaurant, bar or kiosk. Packs of dogs also follow you the whole walk to and from the hotel. There are are otherwise no shuttles or ubers available to travel to and from the hotel. You need a car if you are staying here. The reception staff also gave wrong and inconsistent advice to us on several occasions and were not very helpful. The most important example of this was when we asked different reception staff, two days apart, whether the water at the hotel was safe to drink. The first staff member said it was absolutely safe. The second staff member said it was ‘technically’ safe but it can make people dizzy so in practice it’s better not to drink it. We then needed to buy water bottles, which were expensive, from the hotel. Separately, because the hotel wifi internet did not work, we had to ask reception how we could book a transfer to the airport. Reception said they would organise this for us with one of their third party providers. We provided our flight details, were told the price and that we could be picked up from the hotel to be transported to the airport. At 8pm the night before we were due to leave, reception then told us that the airport transfer is only from the bus terminal in the city. We were told this was the only way to travel to the airport and that we should not use a taxi because it is extremely expensive. Reception did not offer to organise alternative transport. We were expected to walk at 3am, with all our luggage, from the hotel to the city bus terminal. Miraculously, the internet was working at the hotel when we were told this and, after contacting the first driver in a google search, he agreed to pick us up from the hotel to the airport (cheaper than the bus). The walls and doors are very thin. You can hear people in the adjoining rooms, bathrooms and hallways.

Beautiful location!

The location. The reception manager went out of his way to help! A real professional! Dinner was excellent!

The way the hotel saves money is noticeable in food (breakfast) and other services (1 bath towel instead of two). Staff can be rude. They need Customer service training. A pool, gym and games room would make it worth the high price.

Linda Vista. Bom custo benefício

Recebemos um upgrade para o quarto superior que é bem amplo. Cama queen confortável. Bom chuveiro, mas molha o chão. Localização é MARAVILHOSA com a vista do lago Argentino. Bem perto do centro.

Uma das toalhas de banho tinha um furo. Deveria ter sido descartada. O café da manhã poderia ser melhor. Poucas opções e cobram os ovos. Só vi pão de queijo no dia que comemos bem cedo.

Emplacement bien, propreté relative, hôtel sur le déclin.

L'emplacement et la vue sur le Lago Argentino sont vraiment bien. L'hotel n'est pas très loin du centre et pour les excursions , on vient vous chercher à l'hotel.

La propreté est très relative, les lit sont faits mais pas le sol pendant 4 jours les mêmes taches sur le sol et c'est moi qui les ai finalement enlevées. Sur la fenêtre, du premier au dernier jour des fientes d'oiseaux.Au restaurant lorsaue vous dînez sur place, on ne peut pas vous servir un verre d'eau alors aue vous consommez du vin, c'est uniauement une bouteille payante. Les verres de vins rouges coûtent 3500 ARS et la bouteille entre 5000 et 11000 ARS, il y a un problème....

O hotel está meio abandonado, tem um excelente potencial, porém é fraco. Café da manhã ruim, funcionários preocupados com a hora de terminar e instalações necessitando reparos. Banheiro sem nenhum mimo para o hospede, além de sachês e sabonetes mínimos.

MALA experiencia hotel Las Dunas El Calafate.

En primer lugar, el aspecto y mantenimiento del hotel deja mucho que desear, instalaciones en muy mal estado, se publica parking para vehículos y quedan estacionados literalmente en la calle, personal de recepción con muy poca experiencia y preparación, solicitamos cama matrimonial y al entrar a las habitaciones encontramos camas simples individuales, el baño en estado de deterioro, paredes manchadas con grietas y fisuras, cesto de residuos de plástico para un hotel con una tarifa muy alta, olor a insecticida en las habitaciones. Se nos solicitó el pago por anticipado antes de ocupar las habitaciones, cosa que realizamos, pero al ver las instalaciones y al decidir no ocuparlas, pedimos la devolución del importe pagado, y también solicitamos hablar con el gerente del hotel quien no nos quiso atender, informándole al personal de recepción que el importe pagado no sería devuelto. Llama la atención que en booking tiene una puntuación alta cuando en realidad el hotel deja mucho que desear, no recomendable. Hicimos el correspondiente reclamo en la secretaría de turismo de la provincia de Santa Cruz y la próxima instancia a seguir es hacer la solicitud de la devolución del importe abonado por medio de defensa del consumidor.

Lindo hotel para pasar una o dos noches.

Gran ubicacion frente al lago. Desayuno sencillo pero no faltaba nada. Buena relación precio calidad. Muy bueno el personal de recepcion.

Great View but hotel a bit lacking

Facilities were in need of repair, everything a bit run down, breakfast buffet had no milk for cereal or to drink, limited choices, cheap furniture in rooms, very uncomfortable beds, despite requesting high floor when room was booked months previously we were put on first floor on and told nothing could be done, restaurant has very limited menu, staff is not very friendly.

The view was great from the room. Staff very friendly.

Music from other places could easily be heard in our room late into the night and early in the morning. Toilet was not working properly.

other than views directly in front of lago Argentino, it is not worth the money! There are better hotels with friendlier staff, better breakfast and closer to the city. BTW. the breakfast was horrible- dry bread, limited variety of fresh cold cuts and fruits.

Very good

Nice stay in Calafate. Quite far away from the Centre, but has a lot of parking lots which and very comfortable for car travelers. Great view on the lake, cheap laundry service and friendly stuff. Bed is comfortable and big, the room is spacious and nice.

It’s already a standard that electrical sockets are made for all standards (USA and EU), but in this hotel you need special adaptors and some sockets were rather weak. Also there was a windy weather and it was noisy however windows were closed and curtains shot too. So the noise reduction needs improvement.

Pleasant stay at Hotel Las Dunas

Staff very helpful and friendly, beautiful views of Lago Argentino from room, clean facilities, walking distance to Reserva Laguna Nimez.

Hotel was a bit sterile, no hot items for breakfast, distance to town a bit far, but still walkable, almost nothing immediately around hotel.

lovley helpful staff, shame about the hotel, view pretty but too far out of the town, it’s not even as if it is quiet!

the wifi was non existent in the rooms. the breakfast was inedible. It was advertised to start at 7:00 but when we went down at 7:15 was nothing left! it was really noisy at night, music going till midnight.Way too far out of town, at least a half an hour walk .

Very pleasant stay

Very nice hotel with breathtaking lakeview. Rooms were very confortable and clean. The staff has always been friendly and helpful!
