About this house rental
Located in the Texas Hill Country with short commutes to San Antonio and Austin. VIEWS! VIEWS! VIEWS! And the lake is right in your backyard! Main house consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath with a comfy king bed in the master and two futon bunks in the 2nd bedroom that will melt you to sleep after a long day on the water. Off the lower deck, complete with propane grill and patio dining table, you will find stairs leading up to the 'game room / bar area/ bonus room' equipped with two tv's, recliners, pool table, mini fridge, microwave, full bathroom, comfy day bed and more. Feel free to stroll on down to the water for a day of fun or just relax and take it all in from the two viewing decks (Top deck gets the best sun!) Gear up in the evening with a game of pool upstairs or enjoy a sporting event on the two flat screen tv's or board games, while conversing with friends. Home comes with everything you will need from a 12 cup coffee maker to complete kitchen, bathroom and sleeping essentials. Once you are ready to venture out and explore, just open our tour guide handbook and get going! Room for multiple vehicles. There is 1 Blink Camera mounted at the entry way of the house to monitor # of guests and pets on property.

The property was very nice and very clean. They had many extras and were very accommodating! Our only complaint was the lake level, which they can’t control. This made it difficult to get into the lake from the property to swim at the bank. They do help by providing kayaks for guests! Just keep that in mind if you’re looking for the beach style access we were looking for as well. Other than that it was a great stay! Would go again once the lake level is back up!

We had a fabulous trip, it is right at the lake. Very clean and has so many extras. The view is amazing. Sunset is worth taking pictures. We have stayed in several places in Canyon Lake but never on the Lake. We will always choose on the Lake from here on out. Hoping this place is available for our next trip.

Everything was great for our stay. Communication was good when we needed stuff. The only downside is the lake levels are so low you aren’t able to swim/fish from the house. There are some other local areas to swim. Canyon park and overlook park.

Gorgeous views and great kayaking. The owner called back promptly when we had a questions. There were two kayaks on the property for our use.
As a note the 3rd bedroom/game room is accessed by going out on deck and up a flight of stairs. It was great for our teens, but I would have not liked that for younger kids. Also it is a long steep hike back up from the lake after an afternoon of kayaking. If you have mobility issues take a good look at the stairs in the back yard.
My only complaint is it was overcast for the eclipse.

Loved staying at this cozy lake house, beds comfy, kids loved running on the big property. Lake was low which was the only down fall. But the house, game room and over all stay was terrific. We would stay at this place again. Also LOVED las barcas mexican near by, delicious!

Views of lake are excellent! Abundance of wildlife in the backyard and all throughout neighborhood. It was peaceful, quiet and relaxing. House was fully stocked with anything you could need. Bed was better than anywhere else I’ve stayed. Caleb was very quick to respond. We didn’t have any kids but there was plenty for them to do if we did. Definitely coming back to this paradise.

Clean and comfortable place. Great view of Canyon Lake from the balcony! House is close to boat ramp 7. We enjoyed hanging out in the game room playing pool when we weren’t on the lake.

Place was great, beautiful view, clean and had everything you need. Beach access 👎. Lake water level is approximately 20 ft low and the climb down to the water was too steep. We ended up at Comal Park must of the trip.

My family had a great time! My husband and I came with our kids (age 5 and 7) and my mom. The game room was fun for the kids. View is spectacular. Host was very nice. Was a perfect house for us. We brought our boat and parking was plenty of room. AC had to be kept at 74 which I though may be hot but it was surprisingly comfortable especially with the good fans throughout the house. The game room is super cold which is perfect after being in the sun all day. Great time! Great house!

We had a nice stay alongside Canyon Lake. The house was clean and had enough space for everyone. We use the game room for paying pool and hanging out. The two bedrooms had enough space for 5 people. The view from the balconies was beautiful in the setting sun.
The check in process was a little rough and the walk down to the water was difficult since the water level in the lake was low. There isn't really a beach area to sit but we enjoyed paddle boarding around.
The house is well situated where day trips to Wimberly, Gruene, and Fredericksburg were easy. Worth renting if you want a relaxing time along the lake within easy access to local hot spots.

Nice game room & bar area;amazing views of lake & sunsets!Kitchen and living room-very small- no kitchen table to eat/play games. Beware…A/C broke-Air went out for 8 hrs.Owner said to keep A/C on 74. It kept dropping to 70 (it was programmed by previous group) we informed the owner about it, but he never came to reset it until after it froze. He seemed to blame us at first for A/C problem.Owner said another group had problems and had to incur some of the costs to get A/C fixed.There were initially bad septic smell issues on patio so we couldn’t eat outside! Owner stated meat was probably left outside. It was clearly from septic issues.Minimal directions were left in binder for checkout. Owner proceeded to message us about treating the home badly for not stripping the sheets and leaving towels on floor. If he wanted more specific things done, he should have listed them in the binder. (Clean fridge, take all trash out, set A/C to 74, & lock doors were the only items listed.)We left the house exactly the same.I have all 5 star ratings from several hosts on VRBO.

The location is great and the separate apartment above the garage is great to have. Especially when you have teens and you want some quiet time in the house. House is nice and having the oscillating fans on the patio is a nice touch. We do wish there were more nonstick pans. We had only one for 8 people. The shower curtain in the main house had mildew on the inside. The laundry room is big so that was also nice. BBQ pit worked great! Overall a great trip!

My family of 5 and 2 dogs had a great time here. Unfortunately it rained most of our stay but we were able to get down to the water for just a couple hours. The walk is a bit far but once you get down the stairs its mostly flat which a lot of other Canyon Lake properties are more steep access. Do watch the steps when they are wet after a rain, but there is good handrails so use them and it should be fine. And once at the bottom its a nice flat, rocky beach to walk along and play in the clear water. With the rain we were even more grateful for the game room. My kids played pool and Wii for a lot of our stay. Nice combo of covered and uncovered porches too. I will note here that the game room is a separate building above a detached garage so give some thought if you are wanting to use it as overflow sleeping; I wasn't paying enough attention to the listing and missed that. Property manager had super quick response times to everything I asked, including even bringing us some new batteries for the Wii remote. We would stay again.

This was a good stay for a short weekend with the family. Could comfortably sleep 12 but was good for our group of 6. Right off the lake with a kayak and floaters available. Had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay in addition to a large laundry room and kitchen. The game room doubles as a private sleeping space with a bathroom. There is no dock or patio area on the lake but is still a good experience for those not water bound. Again., great for a family get away on the lake. Lots of attractions close by.

The Blue Water Bungalow was a perfect set-up for me and my husband to enjoy a few days of peace & get-away at Canyon Lake. Our daughter, SIL and grandson came over for the afternoon & also enjoyed the porch and fishing from the shore. All furnishings were clean and comfortable. Check-in and out were seamless. Mid-week April was a quiet time around the lake, which we enjoyed - imagine the summer months are quite active. I definitely recommend this property for a couple or small-medium sized family :-)

Caleb went above & beyond to accommodate our wants and make our stay extra fun. The lake is so beautiful- blue and clear. So worth it to rent a boat to really enjoy it. We strongly recommend the Natural Bridge Caverns about 30 minutes away, great for kids, but even the adults were in awe. The house had everything we could have needed, more than we've gotten in prior rentals- for example: kitchen condiments, aluminum foil, etc. The game room was great, our kids (10-12s) enjoyed it the most. The lake view from the porch is beautiful. We did swim even though the water was melted-ice cold, will definitely like to go back in the Summer!

Items needed in kitchen: 12-14” skillet for families. Baking sheet for rolls busquits. The rug in the bathroom has been there since the first time we stayed 3 years ago. This is a heavy shag rug….needs to be replaced with a washable rug. I refuse to stand on it!!!

We loved to view from the large balcony. Large windows also enabled the view from inside. About 100 yards from the lake. Rocky sore line. We saw deer grazing in the early evening The bathroom was tiny but manageable. Fortunately it was just 2 of us. There was a large game room next door to the main house with a slightly larger bathroom. We did not use the game room though. Good WiFi. Over all the main house space was small but fine for two people. We would consider renting again.

We had such a great weekend getaway! It was our first visit to Canyon Lake. We rented a boat both days and had a blast boating and swimming in the clear blue water. When we weren’t out on the lake, our teen boys really enjoyed the game room and pool table. The views were wonderful from the house and our stay was comfortable. The house was the perfect size for our family of four and our little Shih Tzu. We love renting homes where our little dog is welcome too! Thank you!

Perfect Vacation
The property’s location is picture perfect. We enjoyed the amazing view! Caleb was very communicative and helpful during our stay and it was a pleasure meeting him! The beds were comfy and our boys loved the game room. We had a wonderful stay, perfect fit for our family and hope to visit again in the future.

Lake House on the water
Great property on the water. The game room above the garage was an excellent addition to the house. There were also deer everywhere, which my toddler loved! I didn’t need to communicate with the host too much, but when I did he replied within the hour. Great value!

Good place to relax - just an hour outside of Austin
I try to review a place from my initial communication to the moment we leave. With that said, this place was nice.
-The location was great and priced appropriately. As folks mentioned, the views are beautiful and its on the water. My family wanted a little water time and relax time away from the hustle & bustle of life so this was a perfect house for us.
-We had 8 people (2 sets of parents and adult/teen children and 2 small dogs) and it was enough space for us. Read the amenities carefully if there is something specific you are wanting or assuming may be included. I have a tendency to read over amenities quickly so in case this is helpful information, a few things stood out.
Wifi- The speed/connection was PERFECT. I had to work a bit so I was concerned about this with 7 other people on the property and it all worked perfectly. Netflix was already logged in so that was a nice surprise to easily watch TV after a long day outside.
Beds: Extremely comfortable.
Soaps/Towels/anything extra: “basic” soap & towels were provided. As a group of 8 people, we ran out. I believe we had one bath towel for each person but we couldn’t find any hand towels or wash cloths. We found smaller towel that we used for drying dishes.
Layout of the house was different than I expected. The game room (and beds & second bath) was above the house almost as another unit. Having this separate was nice when the younger people were playing pool and being loud and us old folks wanted to just watch a movie.
This might be obvious but, If you plan to go in the water, bring all supplies you would need, (for example chairs, tent, and beach towels). We had one person arriving late so we had them bring beach towels for us and extra paper towels.
A 5 star review is for that place/owner that really goes above and beyond. Everything was good here and the place was great for our families. We never went into town, we just relaxed at the house all day.

Perfect lake views!
This property was everything my family of four needed for a long weekend to enjoy the lake. Our boat fit nicely in the driveway and the property was super close to the boat ramp. Property owner was very helpful.

Lovely lakehouse
This house has a fantastic view of Canyon Lake. We went on a cold, rainy weekend unfortunately, so it wasn't the most ideal conditions but once the rain cleared out, it was so beautiful. Deer came right up to the house, too.
The gameroom upstairs was a big hit with the kids, too. We had a lot of fun.

I booked a long weekend for my family in Canyon Lake as a little getaway from the stressors of my husband’s stage IV cancer diagnosis. Myself, my best friend and our two small dogs arrived a day early while my husband and son were to arrive the next day. We settled in and sat on the deck while enjoying the beautiful view. Later that evening, the two of us went to dinner and It was then that the owner texted me stating that he had watched us arrive and noticed that we had dogs. I was taken aback because the listing said that dogs were allowed. He said that I should have told him that I was bringing my dogs because there was an extra charge for that. I told him to add on the charges for dog fees and I would pay it. The owner then proceeded to tell me that we needed to kennel the dogs when we left the house and that he noticed we hadn’t brought a kennel with us. Again, there was nothing stated in rental description about needing a kennel. I was caught off guard because it told me that he was watching us as we were coming and going from the property. How did he know if we brought a kennel into the home or not? What if I had a foldable kennel in my luggage? Yet he knew that we did NOT have a kennel? We were terrified at this point because we felt he was watching us while we were IN the home. We immediately packed our items because we wanted out of there but couldn’t drive that night as we had been drinking. While it was my choice to leave the property because we felt uncomfortable and violated, we still had to pay the entire 4-day rental plus cleaning fee. I just don’t find this justified. We stayed for approximately 14 hours at the rental and the owner in so many words said too bad for you. My husband’s medical bills have been piling up and it certainly would help to have some of that money refunded to help with those bills. Bottom line, I would hope there would be a level of understanding and compassion as humans to just do the right thing. I just can’t get past this experience and how it made me feel.
**Feedback to the owner, please add in your rental description that guests need to bring a kennel for their dog(s) as well as your home being equipped with surveillance cameras. This would have saved us from the miscommunications and feelings of contempt**
Bottom line, It’s unfortunate that greed takes over human compassion in situations like these.
