About this house rental
Comfortable 2 bedroom/2 bath home with large kitchen, dining and living areas with windows across width of house overlooking Canyon Lake for inside living and over 1000 square feet of deck for outdoor enjoyment.
Our 2-bedroom home has ample space to enjoy the out-of-doors, utilizing the 4 main "outside living areas":
1) Spacious porch overlooking Canyon Lake, connected directly to the house with 3 ceiling fans across the 35 foot expanse, a great porch swing located on one side and a large picnic table, seating 8, located in the middle of the porch area;
2) 400sf deck with two tables providing seating for 8, located on a level slightly lower than the house and porch--great for morning and evening meals and gatherings;
3) A stone patio, nestled in oaks and cedars, is located at a great vantage point to view the fire pit and Canyon Lake. This level is closer to the Lake shoreline and great to use as a base for enjoying the Lake or to sit and watch the numerous boats, kayaks and swimmers on the Lake.
4) Picnic table located in BBQ area to gather and enjoy aromas generated by the grill; of course, the Lake is in the background at all times.
We have ample wildlife with sightings of fox, roadrunners, raccoons, birds galore and, of course, abundant deer that visit each morning and evening (and in between if you will feed them) looking for corn which we provide for your enjoyment. Many will eat from your hand! Just remember and be careful--they are wild and unpredictable and, as such, caution should always be observed when interacting with wildlife.
Stairs and a path lead to the Lake shoreline where you can kayak, boat, water-ski, sail, paddle board, snorkel, fish, jet ski, or just lay on a float and watch the clouds go by and the activity on the Lake. Or if you prefer, take a swim and enjoy the cool, refreshing waters of Canyon Lake. Boats, kayaks, etc., can be anchored just offshore. Many of these water toys can be rented at the marina directly across from our home, or a 4 mile drive by going northwest on FM263.
Another relaxing location at our home to pass the day (or night) is sitting on the porch-swing reading, contemplating life, and/or watching others enjoying water activities.
What you have to look forward to:
**Take the steps down to the Lake to take a dip in the cool. clear,
refreshing water of Canyon Lake. Get the kids and go fishing at
the water's edge.
**Feed the deer that congregate at the front door (some will feed
from your hand!).
**Watch the numerous boaters/jet-skiers and other water activity
from the privacy of 4 locations on the property.
**Don't forget to plan carefully for the sunset!: Gather round with
your cool refreshments of choice and settle in to watch the
unforgettable sunset. Each evening is different so you don't want
to miss the show! As the fireball finally settles down behind the
hills, toast the wonderful day, ring the bell (located on the back
porch) and plan for the next fun-filled day!
**A second firepit is conveniently located in close proximity to the house. Complete
the day with a smores feast at the firepit while listening to the popping embers and
watching a beautiful fire. BYOW ("Bring your own wood"--guests supply their own
wood/logs that can be purchased at nearby stores.)
These are just a few of the amenities available to you if you decide to 'hang' around the house.

We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching boaters on the lake and especially enjoyed the deer in the yard. Deer corn was provided as a treat for the deer! The owner’s have provided every amenity you might need. We loved watching the hummingbirds too. You will be able to relax and you won’t want to leave!

We had so much fun and sunsets over the lake are absolutely beautiful. Our children aged 2-13 had a blast swimming in the lake and feeding the deer. We spent the majority of our time on the patio enjoying the sights. Would love to come back in the future

Would of been great had water been higher thus making access to water alot easier but we were aware of situation before we booked. It was quiet and calm as we wanted. We rented a pantoon boat 1 day and had all the great water access we wanted! House had everything you could possibly need for comfort and pleasure. Location is definetly the quiet part of town , less traffic and crowds and noise :).

The house has everything you need for a great weekend away at the lake. The communication with the hosts was excellent. The only concern, which was out of their control, was the lake water level and how it was a bit hard to get to the water. We had a great time enjoying the beautiful sunset views from the multiple decks.

We stayed here with my in-laws, husband, and infant. This home is so nice with an awesome view! The deck was a great place to lounge and relax. We enjoyed the hot tub and feeding the deer every day. This was our second visit to the property and enjoyed a nice & relaxing Spring Break. The property was clean, cozy, and charming. Relaxing on the porch and watching the lake activity was nice. Check in was quick and easy. Any questions I asked were answered very fast, location was clean all the little details were taken care of which made everything else super easy to just relax and enjoy the deer and view.

We had the best time and it was just what we needed with friends and family. The kids kept telling us it was the best trip ever (ages, 8, 8 and 5). They got to do some fishing in the lake, smores by the firepit, and feed some deer. It was a technology free weekend, which we all needed. Owners are very responsive and communicate well. Property was exactly as described. Beds are comfortable. The sunsets are absolutely stunning. We will be back again.

The instructions to reach the property were on point. The house was clean and well stocked - from utensils to food condiments to even extra charging wires and bluetooth speaker! We used our own Netflix and it worked well. The wifi is fast enough for streaming and video calling.
The views from the house, the upper level patio, lower level patio and everywhere else are amazing! Kids would love to feed the deer, they are aplenty! We used the bonfire setup on street level twice during our stay without any issues. The heating and cooling worked well and we were comfortable. All in all, the stay was good and the property was as advertised. :-)

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is so cute and has everything we needed for our stay. The view was excellent, and we loved the hot tub. We spoke with Paul and Shirley about how to use the TV, and they were so kind and helpful. They really wanted to make sure that our stay was good. I would definitely stay here again!

Although the property is a smaller square footage, it is very open so plenty of room for everyone. Nice to have a bathroom for each bedroom. Large open kitchen allowing several people to be there at the same time. Hot tub was a must and was a hit. GORGEOUS SUNRISE AND SUNSET VIEWS OF THE LAKE!

Our anniversary getaway was wonderful. Our November sunny warm weather was a nice surprise! We enjoyed the Sunsets while sitting out enjoying the view from the deck as well as taking in the view while enjoying the jacuzzi. Expect to be greeted by several deer just waiting to be fed! My wife and I booked the lake house for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The house was clean and the check in/check out process was super easy. The outside space at the house including the back porch, deck, hot tub, and deer was amazing! The view of the lake was absolutely breathtaking! I have no negative remarks about this property! The hosts were great communicators and so kind to let us get a late checkout! It was fun feeding all the deer in the evening! A huge thank you for comfy beds and blackout shades!! Kitchen was well equipped and roomy!! It was so relaxing and peaceful to sit out on the deck in the morning with our coffee and look out over the water! Highly recommend this promptly!

This property was wonderful! The check-in process was simple and the hosts were prompt and responsive. The lake view from the balcony was amazing. Watching the sunset from the hot tub was so therapeutic. We also enjoyed feeding the deer and just soaking up the time in nature. Would definitely recommend this property for a serene getaway! Where to begin? Communication before and after the stay was perfect. The house was very clean and the beds, yes the beds, were very comfortable. The futon mattress was comfortable too.
Now the view - definitely great sunset view. Canyon Lake's water level was low but it didn't take away from our great experience.
Feeding deer was a first-time experience for us. Thank you for supplying the corn.

Yeah, that first picture is the hook. The patio is lovely and enjoyed the clean hot tub. Everything was clean. Nice house, well equipped. Showers left a lot to be desired. Lake was too low to access but, of course, no one’s fault. The 2nd best part was being greeted in the morning by a ton of deer, as if they were just waiting to say good morning. My daughter loved that. Overall nice, relaxing experience.
