Incredible staff. Very close to central- convenient but expect street noise

The staff- were amazing. The hotel itself- fantastic. Its also very close to everything which is very convienient

Whilst it's great it is so close to everything- it does mean that you will not be able to avoid the music and the street noise. The shower head and mirror was also place very very high up- wasn't quite suitable for me

Best location in Tamarindo

Excellent location and very nice staff. We luckily got a ground floor room so was very convenient to go and come from the beach. There's even a pipe to wash ur feet before you enter your room. The staff are super nice and very helpful. Highly recommend staying here.

The room is very basic, there's not even a stand to keep your clothes. It's a queen size bed so kinda small but overall it's a good room and very comfortable.

La ubicación es muy buena, central, a 5 min caminando a la playa, alrededor de restaurantes, un mercadito muy recomendable para visitar, discotecas, etc. El personal está muy atento, muy contenedor e intentando ayudarnos y resolver de la mejor manera. Limpio.

Si bien los precios son altos en todo tamarindo, el precio y calidad de este hotel fue decepcionante, debido que la habitación era enana, pequeña, no habia espacio, el baño pegado a la cama, tiene aire acondicionado pero como en todos lados, no ofrece desayuno. al menos esperaba una habitación mas comoda y amplia por lo que pagamos, pero la habitacion era de 2X2. Las fotos que publican no especifican cual es la que pagas, todas las fotos se ven amplias en las imágenes pero no es asi. Al dia siguiente nos cambiaron a una habitación de las "nuevas", la cual si era un poco mas amplia (poco) pero el baño era abierto en la parte superior por lo que no tenias privacidad. Si hubieran detallado la habitación del cuarto que estaba reservando, por las mismas condiciones me habria ido a una pieza en cualquier otro lugar mucho mas economica por que en tamarindo todo esta cerca. Muy decepcionada del lugar.

Simple and lovely hotel in the heart of Tamarindo

Right in the heart of tamarindo but set back from the road enough that the nightlife sounds weren't overwhelming (AC white noise helped!) Easy walk to the beach - 3 minutes, right across the street. Secure, comfortable, yoga classes, coffee in the morning. Very comfortable bed & pillows. Plus they offered discounts at several local restaurants.

No lo recomendamos!

La ubicación es en pleno centro eso podría ser un plus aunque no para nosotros. Los descuentos en los locales de al lado también están buenos, se agradece! Destacamos la amable atención de Camila, una de las recepcionistas, muy amorosa! Nos recibió súper y nos armó una listita con las mejores playas.

La ubicación en pleno centro lo hace demasiadoooo ruidoso, se escucha todo!! (justo nos tocó una noche de sábado y no pudimos descansar), el precio no es barato y no incluye nada; ni desayuno ni estacionamiento. La recepcionista que estaba en la mañana que nos fuimos ni siquiera nos saludó, le entregamos la Llave y ni siquiera nos preguntó si había estado todo bien o algo, nos dio la espalda y siguió en lo suyo…ni chao ni nada! Pésimo! Todo está super cerca como para quedarse en un lugar así.

Friendly staff

Construction from 8am to 8pm in the room above which we was pretty annoying and no time to relax in the room during the day and we payed full price for this. kitchen utensils were bad, we asked for a pot and never got one, no surfboard rental in a surfhostel, pretty noisy at night.

Buena estancia

El personal fue amable y trató de ayudarnos. La habitación era bonita y muy cómoda. Buena ubicación. Ofrecen actividades y descuentos en algunos establecimientos cercanos.

Poca flexibilidad, teníamos el desayuno incluido y habíamos concertado (a través del hotel) una actividad que coincidía con el horario de desayuno y no nos dieron alternativa (solo café del día anterior). La cama doble es pequeña.

La habitación es hermosa, el aire acondicionado excelente, todo limpio, la cama súper cómoda, la atención excelente. Los felicito.

No cuentan con Parqueo, pero puedes dejar tu carro parqueado afuera.

Great Stay

Zulu is an above average budget hotel with one of the best locations within Tamarindo. The staff was excellent, helpful and accommodating for our needs. We have stayed at numerous other properties in Tamarindo and the Zulu is near the top of the list. Keep it up!!!

Zulu needs to address the issue that that there is no closet and or dresser so the guests need to live out of their suitcase. The room is large enough to place a closet or dresser within the room. The other item that should be thought of is placing a blanket in the room. Yes I understand that it is warm in Tamarindo however after a day in the sun the warmth of a blanket to get under for a different warm would be nice.

Apto para dos personas, no 3.

La ubicación del apartamento es perfecta, está en pleno centro de Tamarindo, cerca de todos los restaurantes, fiesta y playa. El apartamento es bastante amplio, con mucha luz, limpio y con aire acondicionado. Tiene un hornillo para cocinar cosas pequeñas. Fuera del apartamento hay una zona con mesas y sofás para descansar. Agua fuera potable y servicio de café 24h

El único inconveniente es que la reserva que hicimos era para tres y éste estaba más acondicionado para dos personas. Solo hay una cama doble, cuenta con un sofá cama pero ni siquiera nos dieron sábanas. No había ni olla. Solo nos dieron dos toallas. No había cuchillos. Se les pasó limpiarnos la habitación pero nos facilitaron una escoba.

Nos gustó mucho la habitación. Es la de la foto, con los tres balconcitos . Tienen unos descuentos para una zona que se llama el mercado y así tener opciones de comer.

La ducha no salía agua caliente, pero con la calor que hace, tampoco es problema. La zona de parqueo, en según que época, está complicada.

Exceptional

Free Yoga class! Nice feature of a hotel. Also Salsa. Clean place and free coffee and tea. Mu and my girlfriend had a few good last nights of our travel. Friendly and helpfull staff.

Rooms were equipped with all essentials. (could be bigger tho). They could also offer surf rentals (since they incl. the word "surf" in their hotel name- was a bit misleading). Nonetheless the staff was amazing and very friendly!

The room was small, which is ok. The bathroom barely had any room for your knees between the toilet and the wall.

The room is badly soundproofed so you might hear neighbours or the music from the nearby restaurants.

Awesome experience!

Breakfast was included and was awesome, quite filling and varied! We had it at Sol Bakery right next door. The staff there were amazing, very accommodating and friendly. Marilyn and Arnoldo were the perfect hosts every morning while we stayed there. Our room Santa Teresa suite was well-distributed, very good and clean! The staff was outstandingly accommodating and nice. I have special dietary needs and they went the extra mile to place a microwave oven in our room to supply that need. Christia, Valeria and Marko won our hearts!

This may be a suggestion for management for the future. A bit of more shelving in the toilet and sink room plus an extra electric outlet in the bedroom would make it almost perfect.

Surfer chic super comfortable hotel

The overall aesthetic of this property was surfer chic. I stayed in the larger rooms which were spacious with comfortable beds, tables, chairs for lounging and nice decor. The included breakfast at the Sol bakery next door only had 2 options but were both excellent.

There location is great and they have parking outside. They have cold water available on the second floor. The breakfast is very good in the cafe: a coffee of a typical Costa Rican breakfast or pancakes (the cafe con leche is similar to a cappuccino).

Clean and Comfortable with a very friendly and accommodating staff

The staff was very friendly. I arrived a few hours before check in and they allowed me to leave my bags behind the front desk until my room was ready, and they had my room available within an hour of my arrival and still two hours before the standard check in time. The room was clean and comfortable, with large windows and three small balconies. The bathroom was clean and the towels and linens were fine. The room came with coupons for several drinking and dining establishments immediately behind and next to the hotel. The AC unit kept the room at a comfortable temperature since the daytime temps were in the low 90s with "feels like" temps at or just over 100. My trip was in mid-May.

The mattress needs to be replaced. There were a couple of places where you could feel the inner springs. I found a comfortable sleeping position but I was travelling alone. Had I been sharing the bed, I know I would have had to sleep on the spring.

Right in the middle of town, perfect location for everything. The room was clean and air conditioning worked great! I loved the common area, and the water refill station there too. The mercadito was so nice, and breakfast was amazing!!
