“Panacea,” meaning “the remedy for all,” overlooks beautiful Cruz Bay and Pillsbury Sound. Located in the Battery Hill 9-unit Caribbean style condominium complex, “Panacea” is perfectly situated for in-town tropical vacation living.
Battery Hill is just a short 5 minute walk to the nearest beach (Frank Bay) and the shops and restaurants in Cruz Bay village. We are happy to announce that Panacea has undergone many changes and upgrades! As of August 2024, a new backup power source was installed. This will supply air conditioning and electricity in the case of a power outage. In addition, during the months of August-September 2023, Battery Hill underwent many changes and upgrades. The railings have all been replaced and the pool area and deck have been upgraded.
Panacea stands out as one of only three 2 bedroom/2 bath units at Battery Hill. In 2022, the complex upgraded to a UV water filtration system, so water in the unit is drinkable.
The condo itself is fully equipped for all your needs. It has a colorful island living space with a separate kitchen and dining area. The kitchen area was completely remodeled in August 2023. You will enjoy a new range area with beautifully crafted kitchen cabinets and granite countertops. The master bedroom has a queen bed, while the second bedroom has 2 twin beds, which can be converted to a king. Both bedrooms have full sized walk-in bathrooms with showers (one located between the two rooms and the other located outside the living room). A third sleeping space, with its own wall a/c unit, is located off the living room, is equipped with a full size twin bed sleeping area and can be blocked off with room darkening fabric curtains. In December 2023, the condo air conditioning was upgraded to split A/C units, which are very quiet and efficient. In addition, all rooms have ceiling fans.
Beautiful breezes can be found when relaxing on the newly remodeled private deck. This can be accessed through the main living area and off the master bedroom.
“Panacea” is fully connected to WiFi throughout the unit, with a smart TV in the main living area.
Battery Hill’s refreshing pool with a sun deck overlooks the village of Cruz Bay. This is a great spot to relax after a day at the beach. Beach towels and chairs are provided and the pool area is equipped with sun lounges and tables. Also, a new large propane grill is available to you for your outdoor cooking needs.
There is a washer and dryer in the shared guest laundry room on the pool level.
A rental car is a great option which will help you explore the island of St. John, and off the street parking is available in our paved lot next to the building! This is a rare find in Cruz Bay! Taxis are available near the ferry and in town if needed.
The layout of this unit is perfect for friends traveling together, two couples or a small family!

Loved staying at Panacea for 1 week. It was just right for our family of 5. We cooked a lot and used the outside grill. We swam in the pool everyday. The property hosts were very responsive to questions and had lots of island recommendations. Great place on an amazing island!

We had a wonderful stay at Pancea! This unit had to be one of the cleanest places that we’ve ever stayed. We appreciate the property manger going the extra mile in having a “welcome basket” for our recent graduate! So thoughtful and it was an unexpected surprise 😊 We would definitely stay here again without hesitation!

Nice place in Cruz Bay
Nice, clean space "accessible" to town. I say "accessible" because the summit where it is located, althought not terribly high, is very steep and near unwalkable. We still needed to drive up and down to town.

Greeter (Kooline) was non-responsive so it was a chore finding where to go. Every other villa we have rented had the greeter meet us at the ferry dock and bring us to the car rental or to the villa. Considering the steep hill, this is absolutely needed here. If you are not in great shape, do not try the hill and get a cab.

An EMS vehicle would often take up 3 parking spaces.
Not the fault of the Villa:
The St John festival took place during our stay and we came at this time specifically to experience this as we first did 39 years ago. Still lots of great island food and drink and music. The music was extremely loud and was literally ALL NIGHT, as in it ended maybe at 9:00am! Since the villa is on a hill, it was like we were in front of the stage. We booked in town since we thought it would be nice to walk and not drive, which we could not do. If here for the festival in the future, we will stick with our usual plans and rent a villa not in Cruz Bay.

Have visited STJ more than 20 times since the 90's and this was one for the books! Had such a wonderful time at this unit. My mother, partner, and I were able to access every part of the Island from this location (renting a car is a cinch!), and the ability to walk into Cruz Bay is a game changer for us. Long live the Beach Bar!!! Seeing turtles at Maho bay was A+ but sad to see the reef destruction at trunk bay and other classic spots. Loved how cleaned up Cruz Bay is! Sunsets we're tip top! Can't wait to return!

This rental has lot of potential. We have stayed here before but in a year it has became run down and really in need for a deep cleaning. The location is great tho. With a little hard work and love this property could live up to its potential.

Amazing experience!
Great property, the location was within walking distance of Cruz Bay, it had access to a private pool, and having two full bathrooms was awesome. The owner and staff was extremely helpful with any issues we ran into. Highly recommend!

Amazing location- so close to Cruz Bay
I had the pleasure of staying at Pawan’s Villa for a girls get away. The Villa comfortably fits 4 people but could easily accommodate 6 people. We loved having two bathrooms with full showers to make getting ready for a fun night out quick and easy. The best part about this villa is the location. It is a short walk into Cruz bay. Cruz bay has amazing night life and live music most nights. Our favorite restaurant is Mangos. The Villa also has a nice pool to cool off in midday. We enjoyed grilling outside and having drinks by the pool. Parking is easy and we always had a spot for our Jeep. The Villa even includes beach chairs and a cooler. If your looking to be close to Cruz bay this is the Villa for you!

Great condo for a family
Here are the things I loved about this condo: we had plenty of room for a family of 4 adults. We really appreciated having the extra bed in the alcove, making it like a 3-bedroom unit. The condo is in excellent condition, very clean and well-equipped, with TV, Netflix, and a good selection of DVD's. Lots of soft towels are provided and the kitchen is pretty well equipped as well. The location was really convenient to Cruz Bay, so we never needed to drive to dinner and we were also able to walk to the harbor and the National Park trails. The walk is steep down and up, so if the hills can't be managed, taxis are readily available. Cimmarron St. John does a good job meeting you and giving orientation to the condo. They are also responsive to requests for repairs and for planning trips. A few things to be aware of are that the condo is located right above the town, so it is noisy at night. However, if you shut the windows the noise can be managed. This condo doesn't have a much of a view from the outdoor deck, you need to go down to the pool (a few steps away) to have a view. There were plenty of mosquitoes indoors and out, although they only seemed to bother me and not the rest of my family. I used a lot of bug spray inside and outside the condo, and didn't use the outdoor deck because of the mosquitoes. There are beach chairs available, but they are shared with the other 8 condos in Battery Hill, so we had a couple of days that no chairs were available. Overall, it was a very good place for our family.

Great condo with great location
Pawan is very accommodating and made sure that our visit went as smoothly as possible. Our return flight home was cancelled due to snow in the states and Pawan was more than accommodative to let us stay the extra night in paradise. The central location in Cruz Bay allows you to not rent a jeep, but still have good access to all of the island via taxis or the bus. There is ample parking if you do rent a Jeep. The walk to the dock area of Cruz Bay is a short one, but is a bit of a climb on the way back up. We found the condo to be very well equipped and clean upon our arrival. Throughout the stay everything was in working order and we could not have enjoyed it more. We have stayed in other condos on St John, and Panacea has the most space we have found, easily accommodating up to 6 people. There is a large deck attached to Panacea that we used most nights to enjoy the breezes. During your stay Panacea is managed by Cimmarron who is very responsive to any request. We planned to take a deep sea fishing trip and they suggested a charter company upon our arrival who turned out to be fantastic. One of the best fishing charters I have been on. This was our sixth year in a row to St John, but easily the best accommodations. We will be staying at Panacea again in our future trips to St John.

Holiday Break
Panacea is a wonderful villa in our favorite location on Battery Hill. We've been to St. John 20 times and like to try different places and this is one of our favorites for location and convenience to downtown Cruz Bay. The villa is perfectly equipped and in very good condition. Parking is convenient for rental cars and there are beach chairs and coolers available for those wonderful days on the beach. The on-island agent, Cimmaron, handled the check-in and check-out process with ease. They called on first day when power went out island-wide, to provide updates and help answer any questions. We had a lovely week with friends, who stayed in another Battery Hill unit. It's a great way to spend a holiday week. My only caveat is the construction going on right next door. Pawan proactively and graciously extended a discount for our week for any inconvenience, which was appreciated.

Adorable condo in a perfect location!
We had such an amazing stay at Panacea! This was our 4th stay on St. John, but our first stay at Panacea. We have previously stayed at the Westin and another condo in Cruz Bay and this is definitely our favorite place to stay so far! First off, the booking process of the condo was seamless. Pawan, the owner, responded to all emails in a very timely manner which made our vacation planning super easy and stress free! The condo has a nice island feel with the decor and is very comfortable. It was the perfect size for a couple people to stay (we had 4 of us) without getting in the way of one another. We loved having the extra sun room and deck off the living room as both areas gave just a little added space if we wanted some alone time to just relax. The condo was very well supplied with everything from linens, to kitchen supplies...anything we needed to make it feel like home for the week was available. Also, I know this may sound silly, but the wifi connection was the best we've had out of any of the places we have past stayed which was great when we wanted to connect back to the real world ;)
Battery Hill, the condo complex, is very well maintained and has some great ammenities as well. There is a pool with a gorgeous view of Cruz bay which we came back to every evening after the beach to have a cocktail and enjoy the sunset. There is also a grill if you decide to cook and stay in for dinner, beach chairs you can bring to the beach, and laundry on site. There is a parking spot for each unit in case you are planning to rent a car as well, which I highly recommend!
Lastly, the location can't be beat! The condo is situated right above Cruz bay and all the shopping and restaurants. It is just a short walk down to town. You can either go down a large hill (where you end up by Woody's) or a couple smaller hills (where you end up by the Beach Bar). The walk back up can be a little challenging, but we decided it was our exercise for the week and managed to walk it every day and night! If you choose not to walk, it's only a $5 taxi ride per person which is definitely the most inexpensive ride from/into town.
I would definitely recommend Panacea if you are looking for a relaxing place to stay close to all the action of Cruz bay! We will definitely be staying there again the next time we are on the island!

Very convenient and within walking distance to town but also located in a very peaceful , tucked away location . Pawan was wonderful to deal with - very responsive and helpful . Couldn't ask for more!
After my Granddaughter moved to St. John, my daughter and I decided that we would plan a vacation to visit. While doing our research we found Panacea! Upon arrival we were met at the ferry landing by the rental agent who took us to our tropical paradise. The unit was spotless and oh so inviting and comfortable. Although there is AC, we never turned it on due to the cool ocean breeze. The view of Cruz Bay and surroundings was breathtaking. It is a short walk to the center of Cruz Bay (down hill) and for those who would rather not walk the taxi service is phenomenal. Everything needed for a Caribbean Holiday was provided including beach towels and chairs. It was difficult to leave the tranquility of St. John, the friendly and hospitable residents and the comfortable accommodations that Panacea at Battery Hill offered. We recommend this vacation spot to everyone we know and plan to return to Panacea in the future!!

A wonderful Cruz Bay condo
My wife and I and our three children recently stayed in Panacea. We have previously rented villas in St. John but this year we wanted a location in Cruz Bay. Panacea was the ideal condo for us. The rental agents were available and very helpful in meeting us and booking some excursions. The unit itself was charming and spotless. Set high on a hill above Cruz Bay it received gentle island breezes; we used the AC minimally. The smaller sun room with the futon had windows on three sides and was a favorite sleeping location for the children. They called it the tree house. The bedrooms were both of adequate size with large closets.The pool and a good sized deck overlooking Cruz Bay were right outside the door and an excellent location for both morning coffee and late night star gazing. The pool water was exquisitely clear. The condo had a very well equipped kitchen with the usual modern appliances. The beds were quite comfortable. The walk down to Cruz Bay took about five to eight minutes and the uphill walk back several minutes more. We did this many times a day without difficulty.The condo came complete with both beach towels and chairs. We very much enjoyed staying in this clean, well appointed unit and being able to easily walk into Cruz Bay for shopping, dinner and the like. We can recommend Panacea without reservation

Outstanding vacation rental in a gem of an Island
This was our first trip to St. John and it did not disappoint in any way. I was traveling with my husband and two twenty-something children. Panacea is a terrific condo. We loved having the two bedrooms, sun room, and balcony. We ate breakfast out on the porch every morning and often had cocktails there in the late afternoon. The condo had everything you could want: great wifi, beach chairs, coolers, etc. We cooked dinner at home one evening and were delighted by how well furnished the kitchen was. For us the location was unbeatable. It is a steep hill back up to the property, but we loved being in easy walking distance of town. We never drove into town for dinner (as parking in Cruz Bay seems to be a hassle) and enjoyed our walk back up after a filling dinner! Cimmaron was also terrific. We called them a few times over our stay for small issues (more toilet paper, etc) and they were always very responsive. Finally they allowed us to check out late since our plane did not leave until late in the afternoon. Overall it was an A Plus experience from start to finish.

Perfect!
My husband, son and I had the privilege of staying at Panacea at the end of May. Although the hill climb is somewhat steep returning to the property, it's location to town is unbeatable. The view is beautiful, the grounds well kept and very pretty, and we had the joy of watching the iguanas in the trees every morning. Furnishings were comfortable and cozy, we had plenty of room, the condo was spotless, and the greeter from Cimmaron Property Management could not have been nicer. We received a phone call the day before we were scheduled to leave telling us that we could stay later if we wanted as the condo had not yet been rented. Even before we got that far the owner relaxed his own cancellation policy as we were uncertain if we'd be able to make the trip due to a number of issues. The pool was crystal clear and oh, so warm! I would definitely go back and highly recommend this property.

Panacea Perfect!
Panacea at Battery Hill in St.John was just that for me and just as I had remembered it. Photos and description were accurate and the owner was very responsive and helpful even after knowing I'd been there before. A perfect 10! Decor, colors, well maintained, comfortable furnishings, nice linens and towels, etc. I vacation in St.John frequently and this was my third stay at this property. The location and amenities are ideal for my needs. Great view. A double rainbow, even.
It was everything needed to feel comfortable, relaxed in a wonderful vacation atmosphere.
My guests and I didn't do much cooking, just breakfast a few days. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary appliances, cookware and utensils for preparation of a 4 course meal -:). Friends from St.Thomas came for cocktails one evening before going to our favorite restaurant in Cruz Bay. They were so impressed with Panacea and are looking forward to "off island" getaway there as soon they a major home project. I highly recommend this property and intend to return..........

Perfect Cruz Bay Condo!
Just returned from 5 very short days in St. John. We were lucky enough to find Panacea. Panacea's owner Pawan was an awesome, responsive communicator leading up to our trip, and the management company Cimmaron took great care of us once we arrived.
The condo itself was immaculate. The beds were comfy, the outdoor space ample, and the location within the complex right inside the entrance, steps from the pool. This was a girlfriends getaway and the space was perfect for the four of us.
Thank you Pawan and Cimmaron for a great stay. We look forward to staying with you next year!

A perfect retreat from a horrible winter
This was our 4th trip to St. John but the first as just the two of us. Panacea was a great choice and a great value. Renting from the owners could not have been easier and the communication could not have been better. They have renovated the space thoughtfully and the deck provides a private place to relax with a view we will always remember. The property mangers were also very helpful from meeting us at the ferry, to calling the first day to make sure all was well and finally, coming out on Sunday to open the door when I locked the keys inside.
Not renting a car and staying in Cruz Bay proved to be a lot of fun. Taxis worked just fine for our beach excursions. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Panacea.
