Great hotel. Rooms were smaller than expected. Comfortable beds. Long walk to the elevator. Hot breakfast. Pleasant staff.

Location is good, room is spacious, but front desk service is below average. Not helpful and with bad attitude.

Very special visit nice bed, great hot breakfast, eggs, ham, pancakes, waffles, cereals fruit and more.. wonderful staff especially Michelle

We visited in mid-October after the busy season. The room was overdue for basic maintenance repairs. The heater, sink and TV did not work upon our arrival and staff came to do a temporary repair that evening. However, additional items were not working but we did not request repairs due to only being there 1 night. Those items were: floor lamp didn't work, the TV kept rebooting and the safety grab bar in the shower was extremely loose and not usable due to concern it would come off the wall. (As an older senior with mobility issues, this was needed).

Great stay here. The beds were so comfortable and we also got a free upgrade to a lake view!

It was off-season so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Our room was upgraded for unknown reasons to a jacuzzi suite. The lights in the room were a logistical nightmare & I never figured out how to get the jacuzzi going. The breakfast was a hot breakfast as advertised, but not what I normally see. It consisted of what could have been powdered scrambled eggs & deli ham slices warmed up. The coffee was nearly transparent as well. The room was comfortable. Luckily our stay was a one night layover as we were on our way to the UP for the weekend. The entire place needs to be updated, because the 80’s called and they want their hotel back.

The room was outdated even with the room upgrade for beach front. It was dirty and full of cobwebs...and lots of 🕷 🕷 spiders. It looked like it haven't been cleaned for a long time...they probably just changed the sheets and picked up dirty towels when customers checked out. And the jacuzzi was disgusting....when we turn on the jets, the water turned brown and scummy. We told the front desk about it and we were told it was because we were close to the water, that's why all the spiders...and the jacuzzi was because of the iron build up from the water... it was a lame excuse. And 1 of the light bulbs was dead...we ended up changing it. We never stayed in a hotel that disgusting.... I wouldn't recommend

We had several maintenance issues. At 4 a.m (1st night) we had to call for assistance due to the window heating unit smoldering with a heavy burning plastic smell. Zack did everything he could, but they were at full capacity, and had no room to move us to. He brought us a box fan to put in the window to draw the air out & we could not use the heat (Michigan weather). It was a sleepless night. Our room keys (both) were faulty, and had us making trips to the front desk to be replaced. We witnessed two other clients during our time at the front desk with the same issue. The next day we were moved to a different room which was on the first floor and the sliding patio door had no working lock. It was broken off and removed, so at any time anyone could enter our room from the patio. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working and the caulk in the tub was moldy. The front desk manager (Michelle) was kind and tried to assist but can only refer customers to the corporate office. I did call the corporate office and was immediately shut down and offered no compensation, or apology. They told us there was no compensation since we stayed in the room, even though they were at full capacity and the heater failed at 4 am. We chose this location for their AAA rating, but it was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this hotel because the corporate office will not take responsibility. The hotel has many maintenance issues needing to be addressed.

I had the worst experience with tthis company costumers service was terrible. Calling corporate was also a bad experience. We call in advanced to let them know we will be coming in late. We decide to drive to the location in mackinaw city. We had a horrible accident on or way to the hotel. We got stranded with no car ,the car was a total lost. We call the same night to explain the situation and no one was any help . The front desk was rude gave us a corporate number. When we call it was the same we got the run around. The accidente was something that we couldn't control. No empathy on there part.

We stayed here overnight while making the trek to Mackinac Island. The reviews were not favorable but we decided to give them a chance and they proved all their negative reviews to be wrong. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and taken care of very kindly and professionally. The place is a little outdated, but very clean and charming. The decor was beautiful, and like I said, very ornate and charming. The artwork was amazing as it appeared to be done by local artists. The room was clean and very comfy, and the breakfast was great. Kudos to the girl running it as it was busy and crazy, she kept the food hot and full. I would definitely stay here again and also want to mention it is in a great location to walk to restaurants, shops and the ferry of course!

We were sixth in line to get our room key. The staff seemed to take forever however they were very friendly and apologetic. It would have helped to have one more person on staff to assist.

Room was dusty dresser was very dusty

Very comfortable bed!

Hotel looks older with a new coat of paint. Beds are hard. Lighting in room reminded me of a dimly lit cocktail lounge. No outlets near beds for charging things. Breakfast was very poor for the price charged for room. Only one elevator for entire hotel…ended up using the stairs. Location is good but is priced too high for what you get. There are numerous name brand hotels along the same street. Won’t go back!

The breakfast room had a lovely view, but the day we were there it was overheated, and staff was having trouble keeping up with the demand for the breakfast buffet.

Breakfast was not I expected other hotels have more variety such as yogurt ,bananas

I do not recommend this hotel. Staff was not professional and almost rude. One staff person was nice, and apologized profusely about the situation, but the other person almost made us believe that the problems were our fault: First, the key was not working. Second, once the key was replaced we realized that the door was not locking from the inside, and wouldn't close unless pulled hard or slammed. On top of that a maintenance person had left tools on the carpet behind the door. Went back to the front desk and they gave us a new room. We had to go back to the front desk two more times because the keys wouldn't work. Extremely speed, touch sensitive keys! Once in the bedroom, it was very dark, even with the dim lights on. The window panes were very dirty. However the room was very clean, but a little musty. The overall look of the hotel is outdated.

The staff was wonderful very very nice the view from our room and balcony was great walking distance to where ever we wanted to go the only concern I have is that the sliding door onto the balcony did not lock

Michelle was the lady that checked us in. And every time we walk past her, she had some thing kind to say or offer us on ideas as to what to do where to eat etc. she was wonderful.

Nice enough spot, but had a couple bugs in my room. Hotel needs renovation and some updating overpriced for what you get.

We had issue upon our arrival. Our room was musty. Our room had tile not grouted and blue tape on the tile. Hot tub was not clean and knobs turned all the way around. Screen door didn't work. Called manager, they tried to make it right by upgrading to a different floor. New room had molding falling on ceiling, calking around tub was horrible, drain in shower would not drain properly, soap scum in shower all over, ice bucket lid didn't fit and was too small, white paint spattered on cherry door molding, hot tub dirty. People smoking and they were not removed when it's against the law. Saw them the morning after smoking again in the room and filled the hallway. I would not recommend any hotel Leggio owns. They do not maintain their what is supposed to be the nicer facilities.
2.5
I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again. The only complaint I have is about housekeeping. They started too late and we never got our room properly cleaned. We would get back early and nothing was done in the room, however they did ask if we needed anything. Still, unacceptable.
2.0
The employees were helpful with check in however we did have to call down for a loud neighbor and they never helped so we had to take it upon ourselves to ask the neighbor to turn down the tv. We were so excited to use the hot tub after a long day of walking on the island however the hot tub was luke warm and took hours to warm up but we didn’t want to sit down there that long and it was already late. The pool looked like it had a film on the top and the bottom had a lot of dirt. Our bed sheets were sketchy because we had hairs all over them so we weren’t sure they were even changed.
2.5
Great full breakfast, clean room, just a few steps from the beach. It's so close to all stores and piers/ports going to Mackinac Island.
I highly recommend this hotel to all.

Room was comfortable. Public areas, hallways, dining room could be cleaner. Stains on hallway carpets, con webs hanging from ceiling in breakfast area. Property could use a good cleaning especially due to the price we payed.

First off- I didn’t get the room I reserved. Reservation was for a first floor lake view room. Was given a forth floor- walk up final flight of stairs- squeeze past the laundry baskets/and or luggage carts to get to stairs. View of the “courtyard” which is fancy for parking lot with beeping trucks to pick up laundry.
Typically wouldn’t complain about the stairs- but we were there in town to do hiking, and after all day- something about a flight of stairs doesn’t seem appealing.
The door was not properly hung- the top hinge was not properly aligned, so the door needed to be lifted to help open/close- didn’t seem secure. And our neighbors must’ve had the same problem- because they too had to slam the door each time to close.
The hot water was brown. So yeah- lovely for my white clothes- rubbed off my skin into my white dress. And my hair was gross.
Ended up leaving a day early because the cleanliness of hotel/room and water.
Breakfast was basically gone when we got there both days. Only thing left was a couple scoops of some pale eggs, broth with a ham (?) piece in it, and toast. Toaster broken. Breakfast was served 7-9, day one got there at 8. Day 2 got there at 7:20.
Would not stay again or recommend.
Because of the cancellation policy of 72 hours advance, we lost out in the final night stay of money.

The hotel is in a high tourist area which is known worldwide! The staff was excellent, very nice and helpful! The hotel itself is very dated. The halls smell old and the rooms the same. We had a balcony room and the view was very pretty! The toilet was leaking, the faucet was leaking, the bathroom fan was very loud, what looked like mold or rust was on the bathroom foor and the handle in the shower was moldy and poorly fastened to the wall! For $200 a night I expected much better! The free breakfast was not so good. The garbage cans during breakfast were over flowing, waffles were gone and it just was not as described on the website! I took photos but the Hotels.com website will npt allow me to upload!

Check in with was easy. Our room was very nice, view of the lake fantastic. We ran into a medical issue and Michelle, at the front desk, was great to help us out as to were to take care of it. She was so kind and caring. I highly recommend staying here if you visit Mackinaw City

Spacious room but tiny bathroom. Good beds
1.5
The hotel is in a good location. Although the hotel is on a beach, because of the large boulder retaining wall, swimming would be difficult. Front desk staff was friendly. The hotel itself is dated and musty but clean.
1.5
Hotel room was a bit outdated and had a musty odor...A/C unit seemed to work erratically. Breakfast selection was OK as best...had better at other hotels. Beachfront OK but not a lot of chairs or tables to sit on.
2.5
The WiFi didn’t work on the balcony and wasn’t strong in the room. The pillows were comfortable. Had a get view of the water. The hotel was very close to shore.

We checked into our hotel and when we got to the room it was extremely pungent in mildew/mold smell. We immediately went to the front desk to ask what could be done about this situation. Not only do we have 4 young children all under the age of three traveling with us but one of the adults in our party is immunocompromised. That being said, the front desk sent maintenance who apologized profusely, tried to clean the air vent filters and then sprayed the carpet to mask the smell. None of that helped and it made breathing in the room very difficult. We once again, made our way to the front desk to ask for another room. We were told there was no other room available and that housekeeping could come by. This was not acceptable as that room was giving 3 out of 4 adults headaches. Yet again, we went up to the front desk to now ask for a refund. Magically, a room became available. An associate walked us up to the room to make sure this room would be suitable. The smell was a night and day difference, however, that thought was very short lived as found the many mold spots in the room. This issue is taking place between the hours of 9:30pm-10:15pm on a Friday night. The rooms are so dimly lit that a quick walkthrough didn’t give us a chance to notice any active mold growing. This is completely unacceptable. With it being so late we had no choice but to sleep and figure out a plan in the morning. The next morning, we made our way to the front desk to voice our concerns. We asked the ma

Lovely room. Very quiet. Nice breakfast. Very helpful desk staff. Very close to Mickey’s Ice Cream which was delicious.

Breakfast was very average - not living up to 3 star rating. Beach was rocky and hard to get into Lake Huron for a dip. Room was nice. Great location.

This is an amazing property. And even better that the staff phenomenal! Looking forward to retiring in the future!
