Overall a good Stay

Close proximity to city centre. Easily accessible. Room was equipped with TV, refrigerator, washing machine, gas stove, iron, hair dryer, jacuzzi. We stayed in Apartment No 2. It has a 2 bunk beds in separate room and a master bedroom. Mr. Erken speaks English and can help you out if you have any questions.

Exceptional

Great location, two separate rooms and a full working kitchen. Great owner too, very accomodating. You won't find anything remotely close to this by cost/quality.

The hair dryer provided had a weak air flow and dried hair very slowly. Not a lot of outlets in the kitchen: had a bit of trouble charging notebook while working. All manageable, though.

Great choice for groups

This property has a great host, Erken was always available and met us at the airport so finding the property and getting the keys was effortless. The property had a great price/ value ratio and it was in a walking distance to may great food places.

One of the bedrooms didn't have a window, making it difficult to ventilate and the rooms are rather spartan, though nonetheless everything necessary was there

Overall, a waist of money and nerves. The experience completely ruined the mood if staying in Almaty.

I cannot think of anything that I liked about this property apart from location.

The property was not as advertised and totally misrepresented. It was on the third floor and the owner simply omitted this fact on the website. A person with a mobility issue would not be able to climb the stairs. We had an elderly woman with us with a mobility issue. When pointed out this fact to the owner at the time of check in, he started to shout at us claiming that it was our problem and when we wanted to reason with him about cancelling the booking he threatened us with the police and taking the entire booking price. The owner was generally rude, intimidating, sarcastic and completely inadequate. The flat is tiny and claustrophobic, no doors between rooms, overall dated and dirty. Kitchen utilities, utensils and electric appliances were dirty with burned fat and other unknown substances on the surface which we did not want to touch fearing to catch germs. Even a sponge was dirty which we asked to remove. The kitchen sink was blocked, toaster did not work. The washing machine was filthy and smelly. no one in their right mind would touch let alone wash clothes in it. The shower booth was tiny and we could bearly squeezed ourselves in it. Beds (one bed and a sofa) were hard and uncomfortable, which was a torcher to sleep on. Bedding (blankets, linen and duvets) did not seem clean, we’re dated and of grey colour. Blankets were dirty, smelly and with holes. One set of towels were so dirty and old we used it as a bathroom mat.

Great Location

Great location close to the city center, made it super easy to walk to all the major sights in Almaty. Also kitchen was fully stocked so we were able to cook food. Group of 4, comfortable and spacious for us.

My almaty home

Erken picked me up at the airport, his place was clean, complete appliances. Everything youd need in a house is there. Theres a few grocery stores near by, and eatery, a place to buy fresh fruits and veges if you get tired of eating out n just want to cook

Buena localización, barrio tranquilo pero cerca de la Avenida Dostyk

Communication with the owner was very fluent, in English, first via Booking and then by whatsapp. We arranged the free pick up from the airport, which was an advantage of booking this apartment. No waiting neither upon arrival nor for leaving the keys. Conditions of the apartment were good in general, price was reasonable. Very good wifi.

There is no lift. Not many plugs and scattered.

Clean, good location & fair price. Friendly + helpful host & staff.

Everything as described. Everything was clean and functional. The building's caretaker was helpful and reachable almost 24/7. The free "one-way transfer" from the airport was pretty convenient and the host was very friendly. Location is pretty good, in a quiet neighborhood not so far from central park, the big mall or a few other parks and monuments. However, since the Uzbekistan embassy was moved to another part of the city, this flat isn't really at a "strategic" location anymore if that's the only purpose of your stay. No big deal, though, as it took me about 20 mn to get there by cab.

Comfortable bed. Reasonably well equipped (but no can opener). Good views of mountains.

Problems checking in. Google location map is correct but building is not clearly identifiable.and even if it was there was no way of communicating with anybody inside. For some strange reason it was NOT located in the street given in the address. Local people were as confused as us and we wandered around in pouring rain before making an international call to the contact perrson. We did not have a local SIm card. Strong smell of cigarette smoke in common areas but apartment was okay. Erratic cold water supply but hot water was fine
