About this house rental

Breathtaking Red Rock Views and Central Location with lots of fun!

This private home is perfect for guests to renew, recharge and enjoy all of the beauty incredible Sedona has to offer. Come enjoy this property in one of the most centralized, quiet neighborhoods in Sedona before the owners retire here. After walking this neighborhood, the owners saw a family of seven javelinas, the same size as theirs, and they knew then, it was their future retirement home. Hence, the name the “Happy Javelina”.

This multi-level contemporary style home sits high in the neighborhood and every room catches a view of the Red Rocks and abundant foliage offering great seclusion, yet easy access to hiking trails. The Happy Javelina's layout is fantastic as the private bedroom areas are separated in different directions from each other, for privacy and views. This layout, however, then requires many small steps to the separate living areas and bedroom hallways. There is also a staircase from the main levels to the basement which houses the laundry room, game room, and garage entry.

Please keep the many steps and stairs in this home in mind as you decide to rent this home, as it may be difficult for guests with limited mobility or small toddlers.

Fun

This impeccable, upgraded family home, features luxury touches and local art throughout. There is plenty of room to spread out in this home and relax with smart TV's, DirecTV, and high-speed internet, or challenge your friends to board games or poker in the Kitchen Game Alcove. Listen to your favorite tunes with the fun blue-tooth Juke Box that is also offered. Check out the basement and garage game room areas which include a pool table, a bar-style “Golden Tee” arcade, a dart machine, shuffleboard, double Pop-a-Shot, a Nintendo Switch room for four, and more. Since Sedona shuts down at 9 p.m., also called “Sedona Midnight”, this house's game room will be nice for you to return to and keep you enjoying time with friends and family.

The views from the back deck will have you hooked! It offers lounge chairs, table seating, a natural gas BBQ grill, and views of many of the popular rock formations known in Sedona. There is also a small side lounging patio off one of the master suites and a great room with more mountain views.

Living

The kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of space for meal prep and entertaining. The owners have a very large family and understand the trials of vacationing with large groups, so they offer many small appliances for all types of cooking and baking.

The great room is spectacular with tall ceilings and windows to capture the wrap-around views. This will be a favorite spot for outdoor enthusiasts to seek rest after exploring Sedona. Relax, nap, watch television, read a book, or just regroup and plan the next day's adventure.

The Happy Javelina will guarantee to make lasting memories and enjoy star gazing nights.

This home is perfect to stay at with your family or friends. It's quietly set in a dead end neighborhood with a gorgeous mountainous backdrop. My kids and I loved the game room and spent hours playing golf and pool. The beds and furniture were extremely comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked for all of your cooking and grilling needs. While sitting outside star gazing one night we had a small herd of Javelinas casually make their way across the backyard and driveway then later in the week we saw a few coyotes as dusk. We have stayed at a lot of short term rentals and this one is very close to the top of our list of best stays. You will not regret booking this home, it is an absolute delight from check in to check out. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. Thank you!

I spent a lot of time researching accommodations that would optimize our experience as a group of six friends spending a few days in Sedona to celebrate my birthday. This house was exactly what I was looking for. The amenities and space met all our group needs for a relaxing vacation. The house was clean, generally well maintained, and located in a quiet tranquil neighborhood. I loved the house’s architecture, interior finishes, tasteful decorations, and overall aesthetic. And the views are amazing! I would find myself in awe of the red rocks each morning as I pulled the blinds in the primary master bedroom. Photos can only convey so much when it comes to Sedona’s beauty. The layout of the Happy Javelina house facilitated a communal experience. It is very spacious with plenty of seating options for gathering while also providing space to disperse. I loved meditating on the back deck with the beautiful terrain in the backdrop. We prepared all our meals at the house and the kitchen had ample space for multiple people to cook and hang out. The jukebox Bluetooth speaker was a nice touch! Each bedroom essentially had its own area of the house. The beds were super comfortable; I slept very well thanks to the comfortable mattress combined with Sedona’s peaceful quiet. We had a few observations during our stay and the property management was fairly responsive. Sedona is a truly beautiful and special place and this house was a key highlight of our experience.

Our family enjoyed a great weekend at the Happy Javelina! We played games, hiked, prepared meals and relaxed on the beautiful balcony overlooking the gorgeous Sedona views. This home is in a great location - close to hiking, swimming, restaurants, art galleries and shops. Thank you for making our time together so special! This home is anything but a "boar"! :)

The house is beautiful with stunning views. It is conveniently located near town and had lots of places for hanging out, lounging around and/or entertainment. The kitchen was well stocked with items to easily prepare meals and there was a second smaller fridge downstairs which was convenient and helpful. The men and kids really enjoyed the pool table and Golden Tee. We never had time for Shuffleboard, but there were so many game choices. We are very happy overall with our rental choice. The downsides: with 3 separate families, 3 bathrooms were a necessity for us, but 2 are connected to a bedroom and most of the locks didn't work. We created a paperplate system around the doorknob to warn others that the only "community" bathroom available was in use. Also, the balcony room and bunk room were too hot to sleep. We were fighting over the one fan provided in the middle of the night as we were sweating, and my son was crying cause I took their fan from the bunkroom. We ended up having to purchase another fan and leave doors open to help cool those specific rooms, as well as drop the thermostat lower than the requested 73 degrees. The room connected to the master with a baby bed and full were also stagnant and unable for a teenager to use due to temperature. They slept on the couch instead. In the winter I don't imagine this is a problem.
