Nothing in particular

Lot of things - for example - there was not even a hand towel provided for the bathroom. There was no close by cafe/bakery for morning tea/coffee. The beds were dusty and not comfortable at all. The bunk beds for the kids were right at the entrance. The staff was not knowledgeable about close by attractions and activities. Although he was very friendly. We had to go to Odda for grocery stores and coffee. Everything closed early and opened late. And it was really inconvenient to find a good place to eat or even for just morning coffee. The little coffee machine in the “lobby” of the guesthouse was available only between 3pm-10pm and not in the morning when folks actually need coffee.

Convenient, very functional and friendly

There isn't a long clean-up checklist to check out; the location is great; the family apartment was just what we needed. There is also a decent size fridge, and a ramp down to our room level which was very helpful.

If they could provide a bit more insider intel on the Trolltunga hike travel options, that would have been nice.

Stayed for 3 nights, and 2 hikes.

Sheets and towels were included, no need for sleeping bags, pillows etc. That info was not entirely clear for me when I left. Very basic standard, I lived in a dormatory for the first time since school years. Lived on first floor, and yet got a good scenic view from the balcony.

Really nice hostel for Trolltunga

The kitchen was really good, almost everyone went for Trolltunga and it was nice to talk with a lot of different people The rooms are good with a small balcony It was very clean I was able to leave my bag for one night while going for trolltunga

It is a little bit far from Odda center by foot, I had to take a taxi in the early morning to take the first bus

Fantastic view at great value

The view was so incredible, the balcony was nice, the room was spacious and comfortable. Great value for what you get. Lots of services and amenities on offer

Beds were not the comfiest but they really weren't terrible, wish there were more or bigger pillows--only one tiny tiny pillow per bed

Clean hostel accommodation close to the start of the Trolltunga hike.

Extremely noisy party in an apartment 1 flow below till 3am, uncomfortable bed, kitchen very small and relatively poorly equipped (4 plates only so the dishwasher has to be started after every meal)

If in Tyssedal, this your place, RECOMMENDED!!

The place is better in real than in pictures. It's super clean, the kitchen is well equipped, the staff is warm and helpful, the facilities are adequate and the owner is super nice.

Great base for hiking

We had an apartment for two nights to use as a base for the Trolltunga hike, and it was ideal. Free parking, good Wi-Fi, easy check in/out. Pretty nice view. Plenty of space to move around - and to dry wet clothes! Kitchen was well equipped (no toaster but there’s a grill) with a useful supply of salt/pepper/oil and tea/coffee/sugar. They have a deal with the hotel nearby - a free glass of local cider and 10% off food in the restaurant.

Best location for Trolltunga hike

The location is perfect for the hike to Trolltunga. Staff is very friendly and quick to respond to messages. Our room is large so we can pack and organize our luggage easily. Free onsite parking.

Rooms are basic but for one night before or after the hike is ok. Was disappointed with the laundry facility. There are two washers and two dryers. Washing cycles run for 2 hours each. For how many guests on property, it’s impossible to get our turn. There is no reservation system so it’s pure luck to get a load in.

It was good value and had everything we needed.

Excellent home base for exploring the mountains around the area. We hiked to Trolltunga and the guesthouse was less than a 15 minute drive to the parking area. Our room was clean and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. The view from our window was amazing- snowcapped mountains and blue skies. The owner of the guesthouse was very pleasant and friendly.

There were many heaters in the room, which was great for keeping it warm and toasty, but there was no humidity so it felt very dry for our noses. Other than this, I can't think of anything to complain about.

Superb

It was clean and the owner/manager was really nice. Its a big apartment that fits 7 people if needed. Great view of the mountains and of the fjord. were here in winter so no trolltunga for us but in the summer its the perfect “base camp”. its older but efficient. great value for money.

Lovely guesthouse

clean, lovely guest house. Spacious kitchen and comfortable bunk bed.

No restaurants walking distance, so need to be prepared if don’t have a car, thankfully they sold pizzas at the reception.

Very good location. The room was clean. You can cook and use the laundry which is really good after a hiking day. The price is a bit high for a dorm but this is Norway.

The reception was not that friendly or helpful.

Perfect for our needs.

Basic but everything was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Nice living area and the beds were soft but comfortable. It was also quiet, so easy to get a good night's sleep. Overall a perfect place for a family to stay when you are hiking Trolltunga.

Furniture could use an update and the kitchen is a bit tight, but neither of these things would stop me from recommending Trolltunga Guesthouse, particularly if you are a family since there was room for four. Definitely perfect for our stay.

location - the closest accommodation you can get for Trolltunga. Kitchen - well equipped. Large living room.

Toilet and shower need some maintenance. The toilet door handle of our room is broken. The bunk beds are good for kids, not too comfortable for adults, especially after the hike from Trolltunga.
