Perfect in every way

Location and charm were excellent
The property needs TLC. There were many small items that needed repair such as a broken faucet in the shower, parquet squares coming up, and sagging window blinds. The advertised breakfast was do it yourself with stale coffee and plastic packaged supermarket muffins . I really wanted to love this place, but I just couldn’t.

location couldn’t have been better. walking distance to everything
furniture and bed was just plain worn out.

It's quite charming and cozy and the location is ideal.

charming, historic building behind owner’s main house with a nice, private courtyard. Location was great, we could walk to the Market. Quiet.
There was a strong mildew smell which bothered me. I know the place was Built in the 1700s but I think it could be “ freshened up” a bit. The bath towels were so worn and yellowed from age. The bathroom definitely needed some attention. The tight spiral staircase was a bit of a problem for my 66 year old husband to go up and down -no fault of the owners /just need to be younger to navigate the stairs.

The location is the biggest plus! Can walk to everything in Historic Charleston.
Nice exterior courtyard for guests of two units to share.
Off street parking was great. Almost unheard of in Charleston.
Very nice hosts.
Need to upgrade the furnishings in the living room. Uncomfortable and dirty.
The kitchen is tiny, which was okay since we didn't plan to cook, but the old metal and rusted cabinet was unacceptable as well as the sink that drained very, very slowly and the lighting was almost non-existent.
4.5
great location and the host was as nice and welcoming as anyone could ask for.
The bathroom needs major updating. leaking faucets in shower. low water pressure and at best lukewarm water temperature.

Owner made sure we had coffee, cereals, fruits, etc. All of which were much appreciated!
Location was EVERYTHING and so worth our time and money spent!
no complaints!

Authentic and historical, great location, friendly hosts
some problems with the kitchen outlets ( microwave, coffee maker) but we fixed them
4.5
Location was perfect!
Kitchen was not as expected. The stairs to the bedroom were dangerous.

Privacy, history (cottage is renovated late 1700's building), and location

What a charming little getaway cottage, right in the heart of the beautiful historic section of Charleston.
We enjoyed being there and look forward to coming back again. 💗

Location
Host and hostess were charming and very accommodating

Fantastic location, we parked our car and walked everywhere in this beautiful city. Loved our cottage and the courtyard was perfect for coffee in the morning and champagne in the evening. It was a special place for our anniversary!

This is a historic 'kitchen' house as part of a historic property in the heart of the historic center of Charleston. It's a perfect location to explore Charleston and a perfect window into history that would not be available except for the generous hosts opening their property. It is a 238 year old house so there are creaks and dips, but that's a huge part of it's charm. The bathrooms are newly renovated and the home is very comfortable - and the A/C works great. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and clearly take pride in owning this historic home.

Beautiful historic house, great location and super clean. We were greeted by the owner when we arrived and given a tour. The refrigerator was stocked with essentials and wine. Wonderful hospitality!
Nothing! We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon

Not only was this an amazing property, the location was perfect for us! We especially loved the secluded and charming patio garden area with a fountain and lights strung up for evening. Perfect spot for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. The hosts could not have been more hospitable. We will be back!

This place is a hidden treasure in Charleston. Our host Judy and Philip are wonderful!
4.5
Great location for touring. Walkable to everything. Lovely courtyard for a late afternoon drink or snack. Bed was very comfortable. Owners were very hospitable.
The bedroom was accessible from inside only by very tight spiral stairs. The only bathroom was up these stairs. We would not have rented this unit if that fact had been divulged online. The kitchen facilities were very old and the fridge was broken. We were given a very small cooler with no freezer. We had to get ice from the owner when needed. The furnishings were also very old. Several light bulbs were burnt out while others were dim/low wattage. Some glassware in the kitchen was dirty. The only TV was 24 inches, hard to see from the couch.

Historical
Stairs were a little difficult but would not keep me from staying here again

The hosts were great. We received a genuinely warm greeting on arrival and then we were left alone. We spoke the night before our departure to make sure all was settled and everything was handled smoothy.
There were no surprises here. The staircase is tight, so if you can't handle that the snug fit this is not a good rental for you. The temporary refrigerator lacked a freezer (the primary one had recently broken and the repairs were not yet complete), but our hosts provided ice the first night.
