Centrally located. Clean , Beautiful outdoor pool.
The parking situation is very confusing. The hotel encourages valet parking at &49 a night. The valets park the car around the corner in the city garage which charges $20 a night. Guests are kept in the dark that they can park their own car in the city garage for the same $20 a night.

location and hotel was beautiful
I know this sounds a little petty but disappointed there was no pen in our room to leave thank you note for housekeeping. Asked front desk for one, denied, they're only for the staff I was told. Went to purchase one in giftshop, closed.

The pillow was nice.
No parking for large vehicles. And parking cost even if you are staying at the hotel. No advice for alternative parking either. That was annoying. The AC in the room never got cold and there was a buzzing noise in the room all night that made it impossible to sleep. We were only there 2 nights but had to switch rooms. They were accommodating in switching rooms. Apparently the buzzing noise is a common problem. Also, was charged one fee on booking and a lot more at the hotel. Still trying to dispute.

Location, location, location!
Beautifully decorated.
Comfy, cute rooms with awesome beds!
Daily champagne hour.
Good food.
Knowledgable and friendly staff.
Cool terrace and lobby.
No room service.
Not enough chairs at pool. Maybe should make reservations for chairs.
Was a little noisy our last 2 nights.
4.4
Perfect location and well thought out amenities (robes, water bottles, gym, pool)
Nothing!

Made and paid for three rooms. You only had two and I had to make other arrangements for my sister. Unbelievable! Then upon checkout you charged a cancellation fee of $459 To my sisters credit card for a reservation that you said we didn’t have. That’s horrible.

For $800 night the shower should work. No water! Not low water. NO WATER FOR 25 minutes while in shower soaped up. They lied and told me it was the cities fault. It worked second day but then not the third day. If it was the city then if you’re running a multi million dollar operation YOU SHOULD CALL THE CITY TO MAKE SURE YOUR GUESTS HAVE SHOWER WATER.
THEN I HAD THREE RESERVATIONS. YOU ONLY HAD TWO. Upon arrival I had to make a reservation at ANOTHER HOTEL! Then you charged us for a CANCELLATION charge of $459 for a reservation you said we didn’t have! WTF!
See above. I’ve traveled thousands of nights for 40 years and have NEVER had these issues.

Bed was comfortable, porch was pleasant. Location was very good in terms of access to main streets.
Having stairs inside a room is NOT a good design. Especially in the middle of the night. The breakfast prices in the hotel restaurant are too high.

Center of the city great bed great room food and drink service was great Close to restaurants and shops --Has a pool which is rare for Charleston
Great Value for such a nice place

The hotel was beautiful, the staff very friendly and accommodating
Booking.com provided false advertising on room details…my husband was in a wheelchair and we expected a well equipped kitchen but didn’t get a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave or a minibar. The meal plan was supposed to be $20 per day, instead only got a $10 credit for one of us per day. For $500/nite we expected a lot more, instead being handicapped, we were inconvenienced. The manager apologized and told us he was going to contact booking.com for some form of resolution. I advised him that I would also contact booking.com.

Everything! Very welcoming! The staff were excellent! Comfortable room. Great location!
The only thing would be the temperature control in the room. Didn’t seem to cool, very warm during the night even though I had turned the temperature down.
4.4
A beautiful hotel, centrally located to many attractions.
4.4
Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, excellent location, very fast valet parking, good food, excellent staff.
A $200 flat rate for dogs seems a little expensive when your dog is very small and remains crated when left alone. Since we were staying 3 days the pet fee was okay, but it means I wouldn’t stay at Mills House with a pet for only one night.
4.4
Great location! Comfy rooms/beds. Rehydration stations.

Staff was super-friendly and accommodating.
Great decor and seating options on the ground made it easy to relax or conduct work.
I appreciated the convenient market on the ground floor although overpriced.
Pool was so crowded that it was difficult to access even though that is one of the major reasons I chose this property.
4.4
Excellent location. Good size hotel with a pool. Friendly staff.
Mixed drink prices higher than Manhattan!
The rooms are just a bit small, but given the age of the hotel, that is understandable.
4.4
Bar was very nice, excellent bartender! front desk staff were pleasant enough.
Valet staff were amazing!!
Rooms are too dark. We were told when we called in room dining services that it "didn't work". No room service for $600 a night? Unacceptable!!

Love The Mills! Very clean, classy decor, LOVE LOVE the pool! My second time staying (the first just this past June), my room was on the sixth floor facing St Philip’s Church so lovely to watch the sunrise every morning ! Will always stay at the mills when I visit Charleston.
I follow The Mills on social media and was so excited for all the August events celebrating their 170 birthday. Thursday afternoon around 2:00 pm I went to the Iron Rose for one of their featured throwback cocktails. The female bartender had no idea what I was talking about, she grabbed my iPhone without asking first, running her fingers all over her face and then touching my phone (I had the iron rose social media page on my phone). She says “I don’t have access to those ingredients”. Throws my drink together like she’s never been behind a bar in her life and says “just take it”. Strange and unexpected service at such a classy hotel. Was it her first day or possibly was she unexpectedly told to fill in for a sick call?

We loved all of the staff and the amenities.
We waited about 40 mins for a yoga instructor who didn’t show.

Accommodating, friendly staff and various dining options
I was looking forward to relaxing at the pool, but there was rarely a seat.

Beautiful property .
Water machines could have had cold water

The property is clean and very modern . Staff are friendly and very helpful. I love that they are pet friendly, my little Doggo got his own package when we checked in , water bowls, poop bags and holder and the cutest bandana. So many guests at the hotels had dogs with them . This was fantastic .
The hotel is also very close to night life , tourist attractions and restaurants, my family and I walked to almost all the restaurants and attractions.
The one thing I didn’t like was on one of the days even though I had the do not disturb sign on as my dog was in the room the hotel cleaning staff still went in and my dog got out of the room.
4.4
Excellent place to stay! Perfect location!
Nothing to complain about except the pool water was quite warm. It was also extremely crowded!
4.4
Pool, entry area and room space
Valet setup. Arrival was tricky and we arrived late (10pm) and no one was upfront to take the car. Had to park across the street and walk over then walk back over to get the car.
4.4
A fantastic historic place to stay in a gorgeous Southern town.
Better or easier to find information on the hotel restaurant would have helped.
4.4
Location and 10 dollars free voucher at the cafeteria
AC too high
Pool not very clean
Room service done late - 5pm

My friend and I stayed here for two nights in early July, and loved our stay. Our room was ready early (great, since my flight got in midday), and the room was nice and spacious, clean, and comfortable. They brought us a bottle of sparkling one night as we were celebrating a special occasion, which was a nice touch! The various main areas of the hotel are beautiful, including a couple different lobby seating areas, the patio/restaurant, pool area and patio, and reception. We didn't eat at the restaurant or have a drink at the bar, so can't speak to that, but I did enjoy a few iced lattes from the coffee shop (their summer seasonal strawberry latte was amazing!). Great location as well, easily walkable to all sorts of spots.
Mostly these are small things, not really big issues but possibly helpful to know for some travelers. The A/C worked great during the day and I had it way cranked down, but we never felt like it was *quite* cold enough at night for sleeping. During the afternoon, pool chairs are limited and hard to come by! And because we were there a few days after 4th of July, the prices were super high so value for money wasn't quite there (but that's not unique to Mills House, that was every hotel at that time).

We liked the location and the atmosphere at the hotel. Service by staff was good all around: from front desk, dining, and room service.
I'm a Hilton member, but my stay was arranged through Booking.com. As a result, I was given a handicap room rather than a regular room. Shower was inconvenient for us and I was unable to comfortably get some work in the room due to no desk or chair.

Excellent location. Nice pool. Good food

The patio and lounge areas outside were lovely! We also liked the Reno (we stayed there over a decade ago).
Our bathroom wasn’t as large or clean as expected.
