Didn’t have breakfast and otherwise ok stay

Location

WiFi is awful or literally none. It also blocks your reception using your own network which is ridiculous. Once you step out of the hotel, everything is back to normal. Sorry to say but what 4/5 hotel don’t provide WiFi nowadays?! Staff said it’s because hotel is full. That’s not an excuse am afraid.

A unique boutique hotel with helpful staff and great artwork that gave hotel a creative but classy and elegant feel

Great location. Intimate boutique hotel with unique ambience. Over the top artwork, which I thought was unique and entertaining.

Some parts of the room were old, like dirt stains or moulds in the shower ceiling. I also saw one very very small cockroach in the bathroom. Also the wiring of the screen in the bathroom was repaired with gummy paste and not a proper repair. Room 507.

Perfect stay in the heart of Taipei

I loved the design of the hotel. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. The location is very good.

The rooms are not that well isolated. You could literally hear the neighbors talk.

Excellent price/quality hotel at great business location just lacking a gym.

Nicely decorated, kind reception, good italian restaurant (Bellini Cafe) downstairs. Room was modern and fresh. Good wifi and excellent bed. Location for business is excellent; between Shangri La Far Eastern and the WTC/ 101. Price quality is great. Will come back as smallish feel, good atmosphere, personal care and generally nice.

- there is no gym or pool (and probably hard for the hotel to create one) - TV is somewhat difficult to sort out for a tech illiterate (but what are you doing in Taiwan then..) - Windows cant open (given noice and heat not a disaster but I like to smell some fresh air in the evening) - Breakfast included and not bad but somewhat basic probably to limit waste in times of low occupation levels (which in itself is great and more hotels should consider), although staff attendants give it great care.

Perfect in Every Way

We prefer non-generic boutique hotels with responsive personal service, large and comfortable rooms with topnotch amenities, charm and atmosphere. Hotel Eclat exceeded our expectations on every one of these counts. We loved the quirky decor; the large high-ceilinged room with high-tech controls; the exceptionally comfortable bed, pillows and linens; the happy hour discount on drinks in the marvelous bar; and, at least as importantly, the service. We needed an English-speaking private driver to tour four of us from Taipei to Shifen, Pingxi and Joufen and then return us to our cruise ship in Keelung. Between our checkin and bedtime, the front desk had arranged it all. We could not have been happier.

Very good

the property is beautiful and decorated with fine art pieces. service staff needs a little tempering after long months of covid.

arrived back at hotel at 8:32 but were told we could not have a drink in bar because it closed at 8:30. I understand the need for consistency but staff were still behind bar it would not have hurt to be flexible or 2 mins — given the status of the hotel.

very trendy, nicely decorated,

we had a few issues with the electrics, this kept us up at night trying to resolve it. (tvs and lights coming on without warning) the bar closes at 5:30pm, bit early for a hotel bar

From start to finish staff were helpful and friendly from the transfer, girl on the front desk (lana I think... very helpful and welcoming!) House keeping and breakfast staff excellent service. Lovely room wirh everything could need. Coffee and tolietries replaced daily whether used or not. Quaint hotel with lots of personality loved decor enjoyed big thanks to staff

Disappointing

Staff was very unflexibel in terms of checking in even 20 minutes earlier or make changes on a booking. Price/Value doesn't add up at all. Quite disappointed with that.

location of the hotel was amazing

there is no amenity (e.g. gym and public toilet); toiletries not replenished on a daily basis (shower gel not replenished on several occasions and toothpaste not given on one night); belongings in the room was taken out of the room (my shirt ‘disappeared’ and was found at the corridor by the staff, which is not possible as shirt could not have left the room in the first place); when I requested to extend by one night, staff did not want to offer price online (corporate website) and insisted that I go online to book; and payment was made upfront before stay, however instead of using amount to pay for the entire stay another payment was made at checkout and the initial payment to be refunded.

Pretty good hotel with a bit of art/design/craziness

The hotel is a bit crazy, a design/art/boutique hotel trying to attract your attention. Strange plastic sculptures, crazy room equipment combining high-tech and nonsense like glass-walled wardrobe. I have visited the hotel just before Christmas, so there was a lot of gaudy Christmas decorations and the poor employees were dressed as Santa's elves. But apart of that craziness it is in fact a pretty good hotel, cozy, well equipped, in excellent location, and with a very good and rich breakfast. Also Wi-Fi worked flawlessly. If you want to try for a change something else than the usual standard-style hotel without a personality, I can only recommend this one.

The only little detail was that not all employees speak reasonable English, the communication with some of them was a bit shaky.

as usual the location is great and staff is friendly.

a lot of the little things that used to make the hotel special is gone - even the smell of the hotel has changed. The hotel is also starting to show wear and tear. It is still a lovely hotel but some of the magic is lost. probably sue to covid cost cutting.
