Margorie, Jorlene, Michael and Freddy took such great care of the place and us via meals, security, drinks, etc. Jo Anne knows the town inside and out and worked with us to make this travel experience one of the best of our lives! Everything was amazing just like the pictures. We had a little incident where money was missing $20 from my purse & 1 of my guest was missing $60. They removed one of the staff that was mostly accountable and heighten up security where we had an armed guard 24/7. They accommodated us and also reimbursement the money and through in a on service bartender! We had and amazing time the staff Jo & Marg was great! Definitely recommend

The property was perfect for us. The view is absolutely amazing and the staff is super sweet. We stayed for 4 night and opted for the personal chef experience which I highly recommend. While there we were able to arrange a private yoga session pool side. The views and breeze made for an unbelievable experience. Of course we put our suits on immediately after and enjoyed the pool before we headed out to explore for the day. Jo Anne can arrange just about anything you need including excursions and transportation so if you aren’t sure where to begin the planning process she is more than happy to assist! We had a blast and would definitely recommend this property to everyone heading to the area !

Don’t even waste another minute looking! This place will surpass every expectation you have! The house! The staff! The food! The owners! The beds! The pool! THE VIEW! Truly all 7 of us women felt like royalty for 5 days and can’t wait to go back!!! Truly remarkable! My only word of advice is on getting there, we flew into Liberia then had the shuttle company take us to the border and another meet us on the other side, THANK GOD! We left out of Managua and that’s the way to go! It can be very intimidating and confusing crossing country borders on foot! Without their help I could only imagine what would have transpired! Super easy out of Managua and a nice drive from the house. Be prepared to be awe struck and not want to leave!! We are hooked on Nicaragua now! ❤️

The home was clean and well taken care of. Manuel and Jolene (house manager and cook) were amazing! The food was exceptional and I would recommend paying for the food service.

Oh my god, this place was even more fantastic that I had imagined! The views are stunning. More beautiful than the pictures on the site. It was a stellar vacation. Manuel and then ladies who cooked and cleaned were incredible and lovely. The food was fantastic. We never even went into town to eat. I’ve never been on a vacation where all we wanted to was sit in a lounge chair and look at the view. We did go ziplining one day and that was awesome and for an incredibly low price… and Manuel even set that up for us. Villa Beleares is the meaning of the word entrancing! This is a 5 star experience, no question... Spectacular is an understatement!

We had such an amazing time! The home was gorgeous and the staff was amazing!! We loved the attention to detail and I couldn't have asked for a better stay! Absolutely would recommend this spectacular home!

I can’t say enough about this home and the wonderful staff as well. This was one of the most amazing vacations I have ever been on. The house itself was so beautiful. It offered everything we needed and more. The staff was so attentive and always so accommodating. I can’t say enough about all of them. Luis was always there for whatever our needs were. A beautiful home with spectacular views. The staff is wonderful. Warm and very helpful. Manuel also drove us anywhere we needed to go in our rental car and kept an eye on our kids if we had to run out. We never had to worry about a thing. Our cook is excellent and creative. We will be back for sure. Such a relaxing place and Nicaragua is very special.

We were here for a bachelor party, there were 6 of us and this house had wayyy more than enough room for us. The pictures don't lie this place is gorgeous. I recommend paying extra for the chef on call for meals and snacks. This isn't the best bang for your buck (compared to the ridiculously cheap food options in town), but the house is so great you won't want to leave so it's worth it. We became pretty tight with the staff, they were all extremely friendly and helpful. Especially Manuel, thanks for making us at least 200 Mojitos ha. Julio was also easy to communicate with. The only warning, they are very strict about the no guest policy : ) so just be aware in case you meet some cute Australian girl and want to bring her back to the Casa. Julio was very upfront about this though so no real complaints there. Overall this house far exceeded my expectations, as did SJDS, as did Nicaragua as a whole. Book it!

We had a great time at Villa Baleares. The house was great and the views are amazing. The staff was accommodating and made are stay one of a kind! I would recommend this house to anyone and will definitely be back for future vacations. Thanks Julio!

Staff was great.

Villa Baleares is one of the most stunning homes in San Juan del Sur. The views are unobstructed and heavenly. We researched many of the homes on HomeAway and other home rental sites and none compared to Villa Baleares. It is a hidden gem that we feel blessed to have experienced as a family with our 3 children ages 18, 17 and 11. From the moment we arrived late on a Saturday evening after a long flight , and being met by Manuel, Angelita and Marjorie, to a delicious and unforgettable steak dinner - we instantly knew we were in a very special place that was beautiful, safe and full of love! Also a call out to Christina who manages the property - she was very responsive and answered all questions quickly and thoroughly. The staff was exceptional and took care of every single thing we needed or desired, even fresh fruit smoothies, and always with a smile and personal attention! Seriously the best!! Even after a week of our stay, we could not get enough of the breathtaking views from every room in the house; but especially from the master bedroom and from the infinity pool area, where the kids lived nearly every day without exception! It was hard to get out of the bed - with that view every morning. We learned and discovered so much about this beautiful area of Nicaragua. We came for an experience and left feeling like family and not tourists. We experienced many new adventures from zip-lining and driving ATVs to get to remote beaches , to encounters with surfers, ranchers, and local Nicaraguans. We have traveled extensively all over the world; Australia, Asia, Europe and South America and can honestly say this was one of the best and most relaxing trips we have experienced. We will cherish the memories forever. Julio, thank you for sharing your dream home with us! We are already looking forward to returning next year when visiting Nicaragua. Paul, Maria, Daniella, Dominic and Sean Other notes on our stay in Nicaragua: - we had no safety issues at all but it was great to have a security guard onsite 24 hours a day - because street lights on some of the roads are non-existent - it is recommended to not drive at night by yourself - taxis are best - backup power was great - we did lose power a few times but backup generator kicked in and we were fine and never missed anything - we would highly recommend Villa Baleares for anybody visiting San Juan Del Sur especially with a large group or multiple families

We had a group of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids age 15-21). The house was great for everyone with plenty of room to spread out. The beds were really comfortable with nice linens and down comforters. The staff was amazing and made us fabulous breakfasts every morning and a really great dinner one night. I would highly recommend staying at Villa Baleares!

The property was fantastic, we'll distributed but my complements goes to the staff. We wouldn't have been able, I think, to have enjoyed it if it wasn't for the friendly, curious, and dedicated staff.

We spent a week at Villa Baleares in April - a family reunion of three generations, including two children (1 and 4 years old). Julio was exceptional in assisting us, and responded quickly to all of our questions and requests. When he learned we would have two little ones with us, he purchased two Baby Bjorn cribs for the house. He gave us recommendations for visiting Granada on our way to SJDL. (Lunch at El Zaguan was wonderful, thank you!) The property was lovely and top of the line. The pictures do not do it justice. It was the evening of our first night there when a lighting storm rolled in. We watched as power went out throughout SJDL, including our hillside. All but Villa Baleares. For about an hour with the house generator, we were a beacon of light in a sea of darkness! Manuel and the staff took care of all of our needs. The meals were wonderful; they even took care of the baby so mom and dad could enjoy dinner time. We were never disappointed with Manuel's recommendations to see the local sights. It will be a trip we will always remember. Thank you to all of you!

My friends and I were vacationing in Nicaragua and this was our base for our stay in San Juan del Sur. It's a spectacular home with amazing views of the town, the ocean and the surrounding hills. You feel like you are on top of the world, partly because you really are with the amazing infinity pool overlooking the town! The staff at the home are great cooks and helped us feel welcomed. Would come back again in a heartbeat, and hope to do so soon!

We (4 adults and 3 young kids) had an amazing stay at villa Balearas! The property was beautiful - just like the photos, and the staff was incredible. Manuel, Angala and Marjorie made the stay so much more enjoyable for us. The staff spoke very little English, but with the help of Google translate, communication was not an issue. The meals were delicious. We had all breakfasts and dinners at the villa. Angela prepared us a variety of yummy dishes. Marjorie did a great job keeping the villa clean. She also helped watch the 3 kids while we ate meals, which was amazing! Manuel made sure all was in order in the villa and often served us drinks and snacks. He also helped to organize groceries for the week and taxis when needed. (Note - it would Probably be a lot cheaper to organize your own taxis, but it was convenient to have help!) Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it!

We had a group of 12 friends traveling together in Nicaragua and ended our trip in San Juan del Sur (SJDS). We couldn't have chose a better place to enjoy the culture of Nicaragua and celebrate great friendship. Immediately upon arrival we were given a warm welcome from Manuel, Marjorie, and Angelita.The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We were hesitant about having all of our meals at the villa but booked Angelita, the chef, with the idea in mind that we would have her make breakfast each day and at least one dinner. After several mediocre meals at restaurants throughout our travels in Nica and having Angelita make our first dinner in SJDS we quickly made arrangements for her to make the rest of our meals. Her food is delicious, fresh, and authentic. The staff were also very helpful in booking activities such as horseback riding and a masseuse that came to the villa. I read in another review that the pictures as great as they are still don't give the villa justice and they were right. The overall design of the villa and views are exquisite. Some of our favorite features were the pool and the whole house sound system. Helpful hints during your stay in SJDS: Because the villa is so new it was a bit difficult to find so be sure to ask Julio for clear directions prior to your arrival in SJDS. Having a rental car or ATV was much more cost effective and convenient rather than using a taxi. Playa Maderas isn't too far and is where we spent most of our afternoons for a very chill, surfer vibe with great restaurants for a mid day snack. In general Nica's don't speak a ton of English so it was helpful to have a friend that speaks Spanish. Set aside plenty of time to see downtown SJDS. The locals are friendly, the cafes were artistic and have healthy food selections, and the shopping provided lots of local vendors with really neat products. I would recommend a trip to SJDS and a stay at Villa Baleares to any family or friend.

This was my first ever booking thru HomeAway and obviously, I was a bit nervous, fake pictures, far from town, unsafe, old, bad/nasty staff.... But once we walked thru the doors and had a first glance right thru the front door, we were all speechless! Like little children with a new toy, we were running around the house and every room, every spot was better than the last. Imagine yourself sitting on top of the cliff overlooking one of the best beaches in the world, with infinity pool, in 90 degree weather in January! The house is brand new, furniture is brand new, you have speakers everywhere and you can connect you devices to play your own music, Wifi, TV. You have everything you need to spend unforgettable time in paradise! The staff is super friendly and helpful, they bought groceries for us, and had snacks ready when we arrived. We had breakfast in the house every day, which they made for us, and 3 days we had dinner at the house. The food was great, cooked by local cook provided by the owner, local meats and cheeses are to die for! Live in staff always were on the ready to help make a drink or clean or help arrange activities(they do seak very little English, but with the help of google translate we managed), and were chasing our wives away even when they offered to help with something :)House is located 10-minute walk to the beach(or 3 minute $6 taxi ride), where you can find any activity possible, ATVs, Horseback riding, boating, beautifully situated restaurants right on the beach. When hearing Nicaragua, everyone always thinks of safety issues, just FYI, in 5 days, we did not see one police officer, nor was there ever a need for one. There was not one issue, nor did we see any issues around any towns we have visited! Super Safe, Super beautiful, and very affordable. Needless that the house, the staff and whole Nicaragua by far exceeded my expectations!

We have vacationed in CA multiple times and in SJDS twice now. For this trip, we were 2 families (6 adults and 7 kids). Having rented at a couple large homes in SJDS with a good feel for the area, this is by far the highest quality house on the market. Julio, the owner, is amazing and went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of - he was also very responsive and always willing to help out. As fabulous as the house is, the true highlights are the people that work at Villa Baleares. The service provided was on par with a fine spa and resort. David made us amazing drinks pool side and always had a huge smile. The food was incredible. If you rent this house, be sure to reserve the chef services! They also treated us like family and our kids were sad to leave at the end of our trip and said they would really miss everyone. Thank you Julio for one of the best trips we have had. We are already talking about when we can come back for another stay (hopefully this year).

I travel quite a bit and normally do not write reviews of accommodations; however, this place is absolutely amazing. The attention to detail is superb and the view is mesmerizing. In fact, the pictures do not do this place justice and I thought the pictures were fantastic. The butler, Jimmy, truly went above and beyond the call of duty and our trip was wonderful. Be careful -- once you are perched poolside, staring at the beautiful views, you will not want to leave!! I will definitely refer this place to my friends and colleagues.
